The process of allocating the deductible is very shady. The deductible should be applied to the first $500 in bills(in my case) but you deduct the co pay at the same time so it takes longer to get through the deductible. Very smart on your part but very shady and makes Pets Best very untrustworthy. Then you don’t cover some things that should clearly be covered. Paying over $100/month I expect more honesty.

I requested some pre approval advice / assisentence on a procedure for my pet AND STATED THIS WAS NOT A BILL BUT WHAT WOULD BE COVERED OR NOT... YOUR REPLY WAS NOT A GOOD CLAIM ????

Deductible is random at best. Seems like they just pull numbers out of the air to cover themselves vs. our pet. Seriosuly debating if Pets Best is even worth it.

For my first pet, everything was great. Every claim was handled quickly and with no issues. Once I added my 2nd pet, I’ve had nothing but issues. Every claim, a medical record is requested. On top of that, they have recently tried to find every reason possible to throw out every claim.

Every time I get an EOB from Pets Best I wonder if it’s worth keeping at all. I purchased what I assumed was good insurance, Wellness and Accident and Illness, $250 deductible and 90 percent reimbursement. But I just spent over $500 at the vets office, without the $170 I’m going to have to spend on a preventative, only to get back $150 as the maximum payout and nothing went to my deductible. I’m paying an arm and a leg at the vets office and throwing $70 a month into the void to get pocket change in return every time I submit a claim, if that. And on top of that pre-existing conditions aren’t covered, which 90 percent of dogs adopted from shelters have.

This insurance is pretty trash. The most important things it should pay for it doesn’t(flea/tick, immunizations, heartworm). It’s a waste of money and I will be cancelling my policy very soon!

I have reviewed Pets Best in the past, and the review still stands, look to another Insurance Company for your furry friends, because they are a typical insurance company, DENY, DENY, DENY. Sadly, our lil' bugger is too old to change companies at this point, but the next adoption will most definately NOT INCLUDE Pets Best, um, because they are not the best, not even close!

I was told I only pay a Deductible but found out I had to pay a Deductible and Copay after I received the reimbursement balance. I asked during the claimant process about this matter beforehand and was told only a Deductible. I will definitely be findanither insurance company that is upfront and transparent!

They are very difficult when it comes to filling a non vet claim. Had to submit multiple times.

Price continues to increase while benefits decrease

The service is absolutely amazing and I am thankful for the coverage. My biggest issue is with the price increases this year. It has forced me to drop coverage on my dogs.

Very slow processing claims. Do not make clear what is needed to process claim. Very slow sending procedes to bank account.

So far not worth the price. Super expensive monthly fee plus a deductible? So far not worth it to me I am highly disappointed.

Claims take forever. I’ve been waiting 2+ weeks for a WELLNESS claim.

The premium goes up every year to where it isn’t Affordable. Never had a claim with my dog and it has gone up to $2,000 a year for basic coverage.

I was misled when I purchased the policy, as I'm sure many policyholders were. The copays are ridiculous. When your pet goes in for a visit, you don't pay a copay for the visit; you pay a copay for every exam during the visit. It's a total ripoff!

Worthless for Wellness. I'm on my third year of having this policy, but will not renew. The little my pet qualifies for in wellness goes against the deductible. There has to be a better option out there

If you need to speak with someone, it will be challenging. The chat feature doesn't usually address issues appropriately, and it's difficult to speak with someone in person. Like most insurance, it's a gamble. But it didn't work out financially for our young healthy dog. There was lots of things that didn't qualify in the way I thought they would. A three year old dachshund requiring a tooth be pulled was considered routine care and so wasn't covered. This didn't make sense to me as it isn't routine for a young dog; it should have been covered under illness instead. Anyway, not worth the money we paid for hoping to get things covered. Like most insurance, the money doesn't necessarily go to the pets it's meant to cover.

Have this since we got our dog. 4 years. They don't pay out anything. Going into 2025 i am going to start looking at other pet insurance company. If you submit a $642 claim you only get back $250. Wtf Feel like they are after market car insurance. Wait until you put in a claim and basically nothing is covered.
