When we first joined 4 years ago it was easy to work with Pets Best and reimbursements were received quickly. This year, the reimbursements have taken weeks to be received. We’ve also had to submit my pets medical records to receive reimbursement. Your company has all of his records already as he has been insured since he was adopted at 8 weeks. I’m questioning if Pets Best is going bankrupt or is in financial trouble. If not, your customer service has declined significantly. I’m not sure if I still trust the company at this point.

I like how quickly refunds are provided, but despite paying additional funds for a dog that is now a senior, it’s required six month appointments are not covered.

My 1 year old dog's premium went up a lot from last year to this with no payouts made by Pet's Best. It often takes over a month for claim processing and benefit explanations aren't clear.

Disappointed in the covered costs. Zero for spaying a shelter puppy, and 10% on heart worm prevention. I paid $278 and you covered $30.

The customer service person was not efficient (slow) and gave alternatating answers to the same questions- wasting my time and frustrating me

I called in and it took a very long time to get someone on the line. When the rep got in, she was helpful, but it took her a while to figure out my plan and coverage. Also, my initial claims took several weeks to process, and I still do not understand why I did not get any reimbursement for the actual appointment itself if it was partially classified as a wellness examination.

Actually looking to change my provider. Took forever to process my claim, yet I continue to receive messages about delays. Never takes that long to autopay my premium costs. Also for what I’m spending monthly I didn’t even receive half of a reimbursement on the claim submitted.

The sudden increase in pricing is gouging. We're locked in because switching to a different insurnace means that pre-existing conditions aren't coverd. So we're stuck paying these ridiculously high rates.

They closed out my claim after non response from the vet but in every communication they would say no action was needed from me. After a long wait time to speak to someone on the phone they gave me wrong information regarding the time left before the claim closed. Just a mess overall and the chat feature claims they’re always too busy and a call is always needed instead.

This insurance covers little to nothing. You even refused to cover when my beloved cat died. Shameful. Chewy on the other hand sent me flowers. Take a page out of their book.

I contacted your customer service no one answered the phone. I have a question on the EOB for tooth removal. Her baby teeth were removed during her being spayed surgery as to prevent them from getting impacted. Why didn’t some one contact me for discussion? I rejected your insurance plan and now disappointed in my selection due to no customer interaction.

Incredibly LONG waits for decisions and payments on claims. This is NOT the company I signed up with in 2021. The company was sold to Independent Pet Holding in March, 2024. Since then, it's been terrible. It used to be simple to reach someone by phone. Now it's next to impossible. I can't change companies because my pets are: (1) older; and (2) have mild preexisting conditions. Stuck with them for forever, it looks like.

The insurance isn’t horrible. But when my dog needed surgery and had complications they didn’t want to cover it. They found ever excuse in the book as to why it shouldn’t be covered. Pet insurance is a ridiculous amount each month. Added the wellness package and not everything is covered because of hitting a cap on the dollar amount. Every vets pricing is different so I don’t understand how it goes by the dollar amount. My wife & I have been considering canceling the insurance.

I made a claim on October 16. I received a correspondence letting me know that my claim had been processed and that I would be getting my reimbursement. As of today, I still have not received anything. I thought it would only take a few days not the better part of three weeks.

The app is clunky and doesn't always open, delaying my ability to submit a claim. It then takes the company weeks to months to process claims. Not the best experience so far.

I will probably be cancelling my insurance. The claims are resolved quickly enough, but if I'm paying $50 a month for a year and the insurance will only cover half of my one annual vet bill my money is better spent elsewhere.

It’s lame how much the pet insurance went up after the first renewal. it’s so expensive and reimbursements aren’t even that much. I think I’m paying way more than any reimbursements I’ve ever gotten back. Considering cancelling as it also takes a long time to be reimbursed as well.

The company was obviously sold earlier this year and the customer service is terrible, as well as the policies. Too bad, as it was a good pet insurance company last year.
