“Keep getting ripped envelopes arrive. Seems more prevalent if they have come through the gatwick sorting office. They are all posted in good envelopes but all have similar tears (bottom left hand corner, a 4 - 5 mm tear down and then torn across around 50 mm)..... they are all addressed to a hotel, so I gather that postal workers think there may be money in them? It did get worse around the Christmas period but we get it on a very regular basis. Do I trust the Royal Mail...... no way!”
“Sent a first class letter within the UK as a signed-for letter.
I would expect that a first class letter be delivered within a maximum of 3 days.
However, this letter took 3 weeks and one day to arrive at the destination.
Another letter first class letter that I posted at the same time, reached its destination after 2 days.
The only difference was the signed-for option.
The UK royal mail signed-for system is a total joke.
The service is not fit for purpose, both for international and domestic signed for mail.
I made a complaint about the service by phone, email and finally by letter (yes the irony).
The best that Royal Mail could say was that they had no idea what had happened, and that I should make a formal compensation claim to get my money back.”
“Why all these bad reviews returns to Amazon Thursday Royal mail brilliant and tracked delivery's are all ways on time and friendly local postmane waits for you to answer door unlike other comps who rush off even tho I'm there I all ways use Royal mail for returns as there's loads of post offices and I'm thinking why so many negative reviews I all ways get great service”
“Important documents were posted by First class post am and have taken 3 business days to arrive.
Royal Mail is not fit for purpose, fraudulently charging high charges for services which are not provided. Any other company would be prosecuted.
I will use any other provider in future except Royal Mail”
“I've posted 3 items in the past 6 months, 2 of which you've lost and compensated me, the third was redelivered to me a day after sending..
- Southport, UK.
When they try offer stamps as compensation... LOL. Shambles.”
“A birthday card was sent with some monye in it, maybe not the wisest thing to do, but it was opened and the monye removed. How can they allow a service with Royal in its name to conduct busines like this. We pay for a service only to be stolen from. Are the Roayl mail not ashamed of what they have become. Thieves, pure and simple. THIEVES.”
“Received a Royal Mail card through my letter box saying that they had attempted delivery of a package while I was out. This was a lie, since a mere 30 minutes earlier they had successfully delivered a dozen other packages to me personally and I was still in the house. I went online and rearranged delivery for a few days later but it was not delivered, even though I did receive other packages. The online tracking just says 'Item prepared for redelivery'. I called their business helpline and, after trying to put me off, the customer support person eventually called my local delivery office but (as per usual at that office) there was no reply. She asked me to call back in a few days but as the phone call (an 08457 number) had already cost me nearly £10 I will just let it go and get the sender to claim compensation later. I wish this was just an isolated incident, but unfortunately it is all too common with Royal Mail. They cost small businesses much time, money and stress.”
“abysmal customer service help line - now been on hold 30 minutes and subjected to repeat bs message god awful muzak...and yes ive alrready tried your bloody website - thats the reason im phoning you"”
“Appalling service. Use RM for business and many things 'vanish' each valuable items. They go to the returns centre never to be seen again. Customers get angry and damage our reputation. This company is definitely an example of the mess our country is in. Trying to get help (Tracking assistant a joke!) and now it's 30 mins listening to classical music... This package has been missing 10 weeks and many others vanish and they NEVER compensate as they should. Awful company.”
“Sent a small package to Canada using the International Tracking service costing around £9. Excellent tracking available with good detail of the location of the parcel up to the point of departure from the U.K.
After that absolutely nothing!!!!
Very disappointing and not what we thought we were paying for. Package took 10 working days to arrive and not the advertised 5-7.”
“The tracking for royal mail is getting worse than ever ,it tells you one thing and then the parcel gets deliverd before the tracking has caught up to it , ive used yode, dhl snd hermes befor and your parcel tracked daily not once a week , get your act together royal mail”
“item i ordered states on way to international logistic centre SL3 8AQ had tracking number this dated 2nd june 7days on no item but ordered item from scotland received in 2days what the difference us between scotland and Slough postal system dont know but honestly say royal male SUCKS they put stamps up and you dont even get parcels hardly not first time oarceks go astray let alone mail opened at times when received or damaged riyal mail not even wirth 1 star”
“Ive lost count of the number of parcels 'delivered' by RM that have arrived damaged. Letters arrive late, their CS are hopeless, compensation invariably is a handful of free stamps. One year was so bad, I ended up with enough free stamps to put on ALL my Christmas cards.”
“I sent a letter to Guernsey by recorded delivery from a Birmingham post office 5 days ago. The “certificate of posting” promised next day guaranteed delivery and that the letter could be tracked on Royal Mail online tracking.
I have just tried to track my letter on the Royal Mail website. It still shows only the posting date and says that my letter is still in Birmingham.
I paid £6.60 for a non-existent service.”
“my item states its in slough at the international logistic office done by rubbish royal mail this is after a full week of it arriving there still no parcel delivered please please bring back delivery by horse or pigeon royal mail your slow and totally rubbish profit profit profit no services to your customers at all and to think customers pay your wages by using your services royal mail you should be ashamed parcek has tracking number but never seems to move you should make it easy to track items not harder”
“tracking numbers mean nothing my parcel states international logistic centre since 2nd june and as never moved so you can not track a parcel properly Royal mail is only for profit not for customers”
“Paid for tracked next day delivery. Received text in the morning to say it had been dispatched. It is now 6.30pm and item still hasn't been delivered. Tracking shows it is still in a warehouse. I now won't get the item at all because tomorrow is Sunday! Royal Mail should stop offering a service they can't deliver!”
“Took US postal services 2 days to move a packet from USA west coast to London Heathrow. Less than 12 hours to go through UK customs. Royal Mail 5 days to move packet 25 miles to central London. Zelenograd then could not be bothered to deliver it had to collect. Despite their promise to deliver it on a certain day. Totally useless, incompetent.”
