“15 days for a card to get from Brittany, it only took 2 days for the result of the battle of Waterloo to reach London (no trains, planes, automobiles, or powered ships)! No extra deliveries over Xmas period like the good old days before privatisation, many cards delivered too late. Previously received 2 letters, both posted a week earlier, on the same day - one from Australia and the other England!”
“Dreadful organisation. I would give minus stars if I could. What a nuisance to receive all the junk mail they push through our doors unsolicited. Money is their god. The opt out scheme to stop receiving junk mail is a joke. They put the onus on the customer to opt out, then it takes months to become effective, then they make the customer reapply every years but continue to deliver junk mail anyway and ignore requests to register. I attempted on one occasion to ask my postal deliverer why I was continuing to receive junk mail, only to be subjected to terrible abuse from him. The complaints process is a joke. When I made a complaint, it was treated as if it was not important. I was told the postman was 'under pressure' and even that he had a brawl with a coworker on the shop floor buy, hey, he's really a 'gentle giant', so it's okay to launch abuse at customers. The lack of action gave him a sense of entitlement to do the same again plus then make a malicious complaint about my dog, which was accepted without question or accountability. Big brave gentle giant. Yes, royal mail is a law onto itself apparently. I don't give it any custom if possible, but it is unfortunately unavoidable that it is the only option for receiving and sending mail. Roll on the day when there is some competition.”
“It's the awful service that you can use for your online business. They are claiming that in case of lost delivery your item is covered up to 20£. I've lost 39 items from dec 9 to dec 26 and I've been told that I will not get any cover due to their own mistake. I've lost the product's, had to refund all those customers plus the price for the post. And due to their 24h delivery policy( which is a total scam), i've earned negative feedbacks as the orders newer arrive on stated time.”
“Have had so few Christmas deliveries this year and in fact just received many Christmas cards today (27 December) - most were posted on 18 December - well in time for the guaranteed pre-christmas delivery. It is such an expensive service now - really, really disappointing.”
“If I could score Royal Mail a minus score I would. An important letter sent for the 3rd time , still not received, no Christmas cards either. Despite friends and family sending cards in plenty of time and with full postage. Royal Mail is a scam company that has totally let down its customers this Christmas.,The sooner this dinosaur is taken out of the idiots that are running it and sold off the better. It's just been given public money, for what. I've even complained about my missing mail, but they don't care. Where are my cards and letters, probably in some ditch as the postie cant be bothered delivering them. And a very miserable Christmas to you.”
“I would give no stars if I could. Royal mail 24- yet 3 days later nothing, why offer a service they can't fulfill? Service gone to the dogs since privatisation, whilst senior management wine and dine at The Shard and had their salaries doubled overnight there clearly aren't enough staff at the opposite end of the workforce- disgraceful really.”
“I posted a Christmas present to my granddaughter by special delivery for guaranteed delivery by 1pm on the following day. 3 days later it has still not been delivered. That was the first thing that went wrong.
I then had the soul destroying experience of the Royal Mail call centre. People - do not even go there! I have never encountered a worse service. Unfortunately I appeared to call while the call centre was having its Christmas Party which I could hear clearly in the background. Because the woman could not hear what I saying above the background notice she blamed my 'accent'.
Just awful service. Will be using a courier service in future.”
“Over two weeks ago I ordered some flyers, they have been stuck with Royal Mail now for over a week whilst I paid for guaranteed 48 hour delivery. Absolutely fed up with them. All of my birthday cards which were confirmed to have been sent 4 days beforehand turned up a day late - having mainly been paid for with 1st class stamps you start to wonder what the point of buying a service with them is worth. If it wasn't for our postman I'd say that Royal Mail is totally hopeless and just rubbish, you can't even just send them an email to say "where the hell is my parcel you bunch of feckless idiots."”
“Rubbish service in fact no service, posted a small parcel 10 days ago and its not turned up and there's no one to try and find out where it is! The local post office doesn't want to know and the automated phone line is a waste of time and don't get me started on their web site. Yet another company that's just too big and couldn't careless.”
“Awful service. RM totally incapable of delivering anything to anyone who works. They won't leave items in "a safe place" regardless of how many times we fill in their form. They don't leave with neighbours. Recently, they haven't even bothered to ring the doorbell, but jut carded us. We spend our life queuing at the delivery office.
Utterly terrible service not fit for purpose.”
“Postman like stealing items I ordered on line. Recently, I have ordered 8 items from different companies no one was received. I cannot believe that all of them has been lost, but it is more likely that postmans like to steal the mails of customers. I have contacted the Royal Mail on few occasions inviting the company to make an investigation about it, well I have never received a reply, all of it simply in line with the awful service......”
“I ordered an item but I was not at home so I rescheduled a redelivery which never came! I went to the mail office just to discover they could not find my parcel! I was absolutely annoyed as I ordered two birthday presents! This should not be happening at all! and I certainly did not expect this from such a big company!”
“Worst shipping company. On so many occasions we leave a note at the door to say they should drop with our neighbor cause the office doesn’t open until 10 on fridays but they never comply. They always take my parcels back. This is like the 100th they are doing this. Worst ever ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️”
“I had individual presents commissioned, they were sent signed for. Never left the depot and they never attempted delivery, nobody is concerned about finding them and even with the sender name on the back they have never been returned. Just told they have lost them and to put in a claim which does not even begin to cover the loss as they are irreplaceable.”
“Royal Mail 24 hour tracked service? Well, it's not 24 hour guaranteed - it could take any length of time - and it's not tracked properly either. It's scanned into and out of delivery offices but that's all, so if your item goes to the wrong office like mine has, and doesn't get scanned into the right one, then they don't actually have a clue where it is! Someone's pocket maybe? Three different stories from three different members of staff. A 'sorry' isn't quite good enough when my item has been in transit for nearly 72 hours to make its way 15 minutes down the road, and I'm £122 out of pocket. Diabolical, appalling service. DO NOT USE.”
“Do not order a SAFE and SECURE keepsafe!! Paid for whilst away for 11 days at £14 on the 4th day my mail was delivered, a bank card, a bank statement, a government letter!! I had builders at my home hense the reason for the keepsafe! A compkete joke! And royal mail say SORRY! I put my trust in their advertised....
" away from home????"
Buy a keep safe
We will keep ALL yoyr mail SAFE and SECURE from possible fraud/ theft and redeliver in your return!
An absolout disgrace!”
“How this ‘service’ has deteriorated over the years.
Rude, grumpy and uncooperative postmen. Who clearly resent doing their jobs.
Unhelpful, aggressive manager of the delivery office.
If you are disabled, do not expect them to treat you any better.
We have sent nice letters to local delivery office. Requesting they leave our post with a neighbour; two doors down, if we are out. This saves the rigmarole and stress of rescheduling delivery again.
They were completely uncooperative. Stating they hadn’t the time to do such a thing.Oh dear. What happened to the old way? Where the postman rang at two or more neighbours’ doors to try and leave your mail there?
It’s not as if the customer has started paying much less to use Royal Mail. In fact, just the opposite.
Which is strange, in an era where you would think they’d be falling over themselves to boost customer satisfaction and numbers. When there’s so much competition.
If you are disabled, there will not be much scope made for you.
Just more grumpiness, I’m afraid.
They treat you as if they are doing you a service. When , in fact, you are paying prices, Which are that of a premium service.
We decided to lodge a complaint with the Royal Mail official complaints department.
Who you would imagine would have the good sense to place calm, understanding staff at the other end of the telephone.
But no. Alas, you get a deeply unpleasant person, who further upsets you.
A very poor service. Why oh why can’t we have an alternative?
Surely the Royal family need to step in and seriously consider removing the Royal from the Mail?
A thoroughly Disgusting and Stressful service to have to use. Reflective however, of the increasingly uncaring society we are becoming.”
