“We have been ordering Hatch chilis from the Hatch Chili Store for a number of years and have always found the chilis are the best quality and arrive in great shape. This year's crop is some the best ever! We char the skins and prepare the chilis for freezing so we can have chili rellanos into the winter. Our dinner guests inevitably rave about the flavor and taste. As a side note, the recipes published on the Store website and sent as e-mails are great for new ideas. Hugh”

“We lived in Albuquerque in the seventies And eighties grew to love the culture of New Mexico always looked forward to chili season and hatch chili is the best and the Hatch chili store brings back those memories and the products are great so thanks for what you do.”

“I love the chiles. The medium is just the right hotness for me. Deliveries are accurate. Boxes are delivered when designated. I live in Florida, so I miss my chile fix. So glad I found the Hatch Chile Store. Has not disappointed yet.”

“Not happy this year. My 25 lb box arrived with more than half of the chilies rotten and the rest on their way. First time this has happened. My guess is that they sat on the tarmac somewhere enroute to me. I have always recommended The Hatch Chile Store to friends but I can't this year unfortunately.”

Hi Tiane, I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience here. Upon pulling up your order, I noticed that you selected ground shipping. On our shipping page, we clearly state which services we guarantee for fresh chile. You opted for ground, which has a warning that it may spoil in transit. Most customers receive their chile in good condition with ground shipping, so we provide it as an option, but we give that warning about spoilage. There is also a pop-up that customers have to click through, which warns against opting for anything less than 2-Day Air if they are going to order fresh chile for shipment. The temperature in the back of a delivery truck can get up to 120-130 degrees. This causes the chile to shrivel and spoil much quicker than it does when transported in a temperature-controlled airplane. It looks like our customer service team reached out to you via to try and find a resolution. We await your response. Again, I am very sorry to hear that your chile arrived spoiled. We hope that you will consider opting for a guaranteed shipping method so that you can fully enjoy the deliciousness of Fresh Hatch Chile! :) Thanks, Taylor

“My recent order was received late. Also, the box was damaged resulting in bruised peppers. The late delivery was due to the package sitting at USPS delivery facilities. The result was some liquified peppers, and much of the contents also overripened because of both the delays combined with the high temperatures being experienced. Hatch Chile responded immediately with a new shipment once I told them about the problem. None of the delay or the problems were their fault but they made it right. They are a great company.”

“I miss the food in Colorado now that I live in Louisiana. While Cajun food is amazing, green chili is not heard of here (as of most states). I preordered and got mine super fresh with 2 day delivery. Made a batch of chili with half of my 5lb box and roasted and froze the other half. I ordered medium because you can always bring down the spice but if you want it with a kick then it needs to be natural from the chili’s. This is forever my source as I never plan to go back West. Thank you Hatch! Anaheim is generic in Colorado terms! Xoxo”

“Always order 50 pounds of Big Jims, this year I lost about 30 in shipping due to our extremely hot weather. Normal I don’t lose any. Not companies fault, just one hot year in Texas, been running 105-110 in West Texas!”

“The Hatch showed up pungent and green, there is Pueblo Chili and we have had both. Just the same, New Mexico Hatch is without the best and they always hatch first, no waiting for Pueblo!”

“Peppers arrived in perfect condition. I didn't get to roasting them for a few days and some ripened to red but I was reassured that this was fine. Had a great time roasting, peeling, freezing. We enjoyed homemade tortillas with peppers and cheese wrapped inside for our first tasting...and they were delicious! We are looking forward to enjoying our peppers for months to come.”

“Based on prior orders, we expected a few chiles to not survive the hot weather during shipping. This year, we only lost one chile in a 10lb fresh medium shipment. They have been roasted, packed and frozen. The house smelled amazing for a days. This is now an annual thing for us.”
