I am so thankful to have seen these reviews. I just had the worst experience of my life (37) dealing with this company Turo. I thought I was losing my mind or that I'd lost my patience. After calling Turo to just change a "primary driver" to a different person. They kept me on the phone for 3.5 hours. At the 3hr mark when nothing had been resolved yet, I started to lose my cool and I told the agent to not put me on hold. I did say "this is completely unacceptable and ridiculous. We are just changing a name." When the agent came back, he told me that we were banned from using Turo. Luckily I am already in contact with the host and plan to go direct.

Horrible Customer Service. This company is trying to charge me over $800 for the headrest to a 2015 caravan. Proof below shows I did nothing wrong and even if I would've, the head rest are $40 online.

Don’t waste your time!!!!! I booked a reservation through Turo a couple of days before my vacation. On the day of my trip, I logged in to check the pick-up details only to find out my reservation had been canceled. Turns out I hadn’t uploaded my license in time, and because of that, they canceled the whole thing without any notice. I’ve booked with Turo many times, but this time, over a small mistake, they blocked my entire account. I tried calling to get help, but was told there’s nothing they can do. Seriously? If you use Turo, make sure you complete every step the same day you book. Don’t wait. Or you might end up like me stranded on the day of your trip with no car and no help.

I'd signed up and booked a car. Afterwards the contacted me via email for a license image/verification, which i sent to them. They then closed by account and cancelled by booking (refunding payment) and could only supply a generic reason that I couldn't be approved to use their platform, even with a completely clean background and legitimate license ID. If there was an issue, they could at least provide some more information so we could attempt to resolve it. Horrible customer service hiding behind ridiculous policy and process.

If I could give Turo a negative star I would. I was given a car with bad tires and got stuck on the side of the highway for over 3 hours waiting on their tow truck service whom caused significant damage to the car while lowering the car down off the tow truck. Car sat at tire shop ALL weekend as the tire shop was closing right as we got there. I had to purchase replacement tire out of pocket (not reimbursed for tire either) and now they are trying to charge me for the damages that their tow truck service caused

I have tried on 4 occasions to rent cars through Turo with no success. I made arrangements to have a car delivered to my campground on April 10th. Literally at the last minute they cancelled my reservation and were no help whatsoever in arranging another car. They, essentially, ruined my vacation and left me in the lurch. I give up, they simply aren't worth doing business with.

While the host we rented from had positive reviews, there was a 5-day delay in any communication from him regarding my need to cancel our trip. I notified him before calling customer service as I had not realized this was a non-refundable trip. Reaching customer service was another poor experience. I had difficulty hearing (due to background noise) and the slight accent of the agent. We are still awaiting notification on refund or rescheduling a trip in the future and have low expectations. Definitely would not recommend this service and am quite disappointed.

Turo is far the worse car rental ever they just changed their policy on March 5th about booking trips with credit card only. Not everyone like me has a secondary payment method credit card to add to the account now I'm not able to book anything. I'm going to have to close my account and make sure I won't recommend this car rental to no one. They are going to loose a lot of customers. Also I was never notified about this new policy change which is bad customer service

Disappointing Experience with Claims Department I recently rented a vehicle through Turo, and while I initially appreciated the convenience of the platform, my experience with the claims department left me deeply frustrated. After returning the car, which had 92,000 clicks on it, I was hit with a claim for over $2600 due to a scratch. The car was not in pristine condition to begin with, and the wear and tear seemed typical for its mileage. However, what really upset me was the claims process itself. I was not given the opportunity to provide a statement or context regarding the scratch, which I thought was unfair. It felt as though my perspective was completely disregarded, and the situation was handled without any consideration for the actual condition of the vehicle. This lack of transparency made the entire experience feel like a scam. As a renter, I expected a fair assessment and the chance to defend myself against what seemed like an inflated claim. Instead, I felt powerless and frustrated, left to deal with a hefty charge that felt unjustified. Overall, my experience with Turo was tarnished by the claims department's approach. I hope they can improve their communication and fairness in handling claims in the future. Until then, I would advise potential renters to be cautious and fully document any pre-existing damage before taking a vehicle out.

Double charged me for rental after being locked out of the car because the remote was faulty and there was no spare key. I ended up 6 hours late for work and they're charging me 182.00 dollars for being four hours late with the replacement vehicle. Straight Ripoff!

The vehicle we rented was faulty. They said because the problem happened while it was on our watch we still have to pay for it. It’s like dealing with a bunch of AI bots no one you speak to actually listens. The email that they say is a real person answers questions you didn’t ask and ask you questions that don’t apply to what’s going on.

A car we rented claimed that we had damaged the windscreen. We refute that this happened while we had the car. Additionally the chip was miniscule, and they expected us to pay for a full windscreen replacement. However there's no proof that this has been done, or a second opinion as to whether a repair was possible. They left it for seven months - so I thought it had gone away. They then took money out of my account whilst this was still in dispute, with no permission. They have now stopped responding and I'm unable to get hold of them. It's dreadful customer service.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with TURO. I applied to rent a vehicle and was unexpectedly denied. When I reached out via chat to get clarification, instead of helping me, they abruptly closed my account. Their lack of transparency and refusal to provide any real explanation is unacceptable. If they are going to deny someone service, they should at least provide clear reasons and a chance to address any potential mistakes. Instead, they chose to shut me out entirely with no recourse. I would not recommend TURO to anyone looking for reliable customer service or fair treatment. If they can falsely deny me, they can do it anyone.

Turo is the worst company to ever work with! We rented a car for our Florida trip, and yesterday, it broke down on us—with Lorelai in the car—on the side of I-275 in Tampa. If you know what the Tampa area is like at 5 p.m., you understand how scary and dangerous that was. Our host was amazing and did everything he could to help. We made it back to the house and contacted Turo. They said the host needed to pick up the car before we could get a replacement. No problem—our host came out to the house at 10 p.m. to pick up the car and did everything he was instructed to do. Last night, I was on the phone and chat with Turo until 11:30 p.m. trying to get a new car. I started again this morning at 8:30 a.m., and I’m still getting nowhere—just the runaround. Now my family is in Florida with no car! I don’t understand why this is so difficult. I need a replacement car that fits into the refund amount for the last four days of my trip. Instead, Turo has decided to just refund my card—which takes up to 15 days—and expects me to book a new car on my own. On top of that, they won’t even deliver the car to our rental house or allow me to return it at the airport. How do they expect me to get to the airport an hour away without a car?! None of this makes any sense. If this is Turo’s customer service policy, I will never use them again.
