Turo charged me a cancellation fee of $220 because I accidentally uploaded an expired drivers license. My wife needed my ID for something and she put it in our safe. I ask for it back to rent a vehicle on Turo and she grabbed the wrong one and handed it to me. I didn’t check the ID when she gave it to me and I used it to take my picture holding my ID. I landed at my destination to find out that the host terminated my rental. He said that Turo made him do it. I looked at my bank account and saw that Turo only refunded a couple of hinder dollars and kept $220. The never gave me a chance to upload my valid drivers license. I called them and they said that they had to compensate the owner and I told them that the owner said I could lease it again, so why would I have pay the $220 cancellation fee? So the owner said Turo made him cancel and Turo said the owner keeps the money. It’s terrible that they would do that to to someone. Turo is just another big company that enjoys taking advantage of its clients base for simple mistakes that they might make. 😠😡🤬

Dear Turo Customer Service, I am Dimetre Gamble writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent rental experience, particularly concerning the assistance provided by employees Mark and Gerald, the supervisor I spoke with. I rented a Tesla for a day, and while the initial interaction with the host went smoothly, the situation took a turn when It was time to return the vehicle. Trying to charg the car, I exited only to find that the doors locked with my phone inside. Desperate for help, I borrowed a stranger's phone to contact my wife and subsequently Turo, hoping to connect with the host to unlock the vehicle. Unfortunately, my experience with customer support was frustrating. Despite providing my ID and card details associated with my account, I was informed that I could not receive assistance without my login credentials. I informed your team that I use a passkey and was unable to access my email. Even after sending my information for verification, I continued to receive responses indicating that they could not assist me. This led to an additional four-hour ordeal that included a 40-minute drive to the host's location, during which I mistakenly knocked on the wrong doors. I then had to return to drop off the car, making another lengthy drive home. Throughout this experience, I felt that the customer service team lacked the necessary training in customer support and de-escalation techniques to handle such emergencies. Moreover, the host mentioned that a simple phone call from Turo could have resolved the situation promptly, as he was willing to unlock the car remotely if asked. I hope that my feedback can help improve future interactions for other customers. I would appreciate your attention to this matter. Thank you for your understanding.

I wish I could give them zero stars. Terrible experience with Turo. I booked a rental on February 6 but quickly realized the pickup location was too far. I contacted Turo for help canceling, and they told me to reach out to the host. The host completely ignored my messages, leaving me on read instead of canceling. When I asked Turo to step in, they tried calling him, but he ignored or sent their calls to voicemail. Despite never picking up the car or even verifying my license, Turo only gave me a partial refund, allowing the host to keep over $200. I repeatedly reached out, but they refused to refund me in full. Extremely disappointing customer service and a lack of accountability for unresponsive hosts. I’ll never use Turo again and would not recommend it to anyone.

This app is terrible. The functionality is ok, but I was a loyal user for many years and decided to sign up as a host. When I became a host I realized that hosting just isn’t for me - way to small of a return for such a large risk and wear and tear on your vehicle. So when I cancelled some reservations as a HOST, they cancelled my account as a GUEST also. This ridiculous rigidity shows the total lack of human thought and involvement in the whole process. I can’t wait until someone develops a better app and puts these guys out of business.

TURO has cancelled my account and two upcoming bookings due to someone reported using their photos. Despite me confirming I 'm the owner, TURO didn't make any effort to rectify the issue, nor asked me to prove the ownership. They just decided to bully me over the emails. I DO NOT recommend this company due to their arrogant an unfair approach.

🚨 Turo’s support is unreliable and dismisses serious customer concerns. I had my first Turo experience, and it was deeply frustrating due to an untrustworthy host. I immediately flagged concerns about the host’s dishonesty, including him lying to an officer and overcharging me for fuel. However, Turo ignored my warnings and let the host continue operating on their platform. Even worse, Turo removed my negative review of the host, claiming it violated policies—when in reality, it was factual and backed by proof. If Turo refuses to take reports seriously, it creates a dangerous environment for future renters. Sadly, this experience shows that Turo prioritizes hosts over guest safety and transparency. I would not recommend this platform to anyone who values honesty and accountability. 1 star.

Customer service is horrible. The host gave me a car with bad tires and no spares. When half way through one of the tires went flat and I had no spares, Turo refused to call a tow. And then I also had to pay for the tires. Worst customer service

I recently tried to rent a long-term car through Turo and had a terrible experience. Their website showed many options with attractive prices due to a 3-month discount. However, when I reserved cars, the owners canceled the reservations, apparently unaware of the discounts and finding them unprofitable. After reviewing numerous cars, I finally reserved another car that stated "long term bookings are welcome." Unfortunately, the owner canceled at the last minute, claiming the car needed repairs. Following this, Turo sent me a message stating that an additional $527 was added to my account to help me rebook. However, when I booked a new car, this credit was not applied. (and because of this credit, I have booked a much more expensive car!) I contacted customer service, and they told me I had used the credit on my previous booking, which had been canceled - hence, the credit! Despite explaining the situation and even providing a screenshot of the credit message, they did not solve the situation. I've sent another email with the screenshot of the email they have sent me, but no one has contacted me since—they are literally ghosting me! I was planning to book many trips with them during my 5-month residency in the US, but after this experience, I will never use Turo again. And I hope nothing goes wrong during this trip that I already paid, because I cannot trust them to solve any problems! Just terrible!

I understand rules are rules but some businesses need to be investigated for ethics and be held more accountable. After approving me and taking money out of my bank account Turo waits a hour before my scheduled trip to say they don’t take probationary licenses. If that is the rules you should be clear about it before taking hundreds out of someone account and now I have to wait for a email to determine when I would get a refund. This is frustrating because this is not how you treat people.

I had a car lined up since October. It's my belief that the host did not want to honor the price and or stipulations of my deal. When I secured my trip it was for 1600 miles. I had tried for days to contact the host to get things confirmed for my trip which was now 2 days away. He wouldn't respond to any message I sent him. I noticed that he had changed the allotted milage for his car from 1600 miles, to 600 miles. I contacted Turo and canceled my reservation with Ribeiro, and surprise surprise, he instantly replied when he got the cancellation notice. Super shady. I would NEVER do business with this host again, and doubtful I will deal with Turo again. So disappointed. I had been looking forward to this trip for months.

Awful experience all around. Got a car with old tires went flat the next day, spare was flat too had to be towed. Had to arrange my own expensive Uber to get home with my baby. Never reimbursed and emails are being ignored. Complete scam. Recently was also sent a charge for a ticket I supposedly received in New Jersey even though I never went there on the trip.

After paying over $400 for “premier” insurance coverage I was refused reimbursement for a covered incident. The 2 month communications included me being switched to 5 different agents, none of whom could properly formulate a sentence in English. This is the worst company ever and I would NEVER use them again.
