Fraudulent company with the worst customer service: I tried to buy this wardrobe less than a week ago when it was being advertised for £136. However, my online transaction was partially declined by Argos for some unknown reason. The money was taken from my account but the order was not placed. Later when I contacted Argos, they were extremely rude on the phone. After a long struggle speaking to multiple people, they eventually said that something went wrong due to some technical fault in their systems and that the have cancelled the order and that the money will come back into my account in the next 3-5 days after which I can place the order again if I wish. They didn't even apologised for this inconvenience. Now when I was going to place the order again, Argos has increased the price by almost 48%. This is absolutely ridiculous and a total fraud. Besides that Argos is advertising '£3.95 same day delivery' as their selling point. But that is also a lie as the actual price and the delivery time is a lot more than that.

What price online is not what you get in store. To view a product in store you are not allowed to take off packaging to view it. Or you can see the cardboard it is wrapped in only. Gift cards expire on a different date to what is printed on the gift card.

Ordered a wardrobe for delivery on a Sunday 12-6 as that was the only time I'd be in. Got a text message from them around 2pm to say that due to unforeseen circumstances that my delivery would be cancelled. On phoning customer services, the woman advised me that the next available date would be a week on Tuesday. Very unprofessional, wasn't unforeseen, they just didn't have stock.

ARGOS – CARE Re. FURNITURE DELIVERY If you are elderly, infirm, disabled or just on your own – BEWARE - if you order furniture for delivery from Argos it could end up on your drive if the Argos delivery men decide they are don’t want to take it into your house! We ordered a single bed and paid for it to be delivered. An Argos van arrived; two men got the bed out one carrying the base, the other the mattress. The one carrying the mattress proceeded to walk across a wet lawn despite there being plenty of room to come up the drive, he put the mattress down in the porch looked at the carpet in the hall and called out to his mate that it was “white”. He then proceeded to push the mattress from the porch halfway into the hall and the second man then put the base down half in the porch and half on the drive. I asked if they were just going to leave it there at which the second man said they weren’t going to walk on our carpet because they may have dirt on their shoes, then leaned into the house from the porch and said they wouldn’t take it upstairs anyhow as the stairs had a turn in them. I was surprised by this response as we had had a king sized and a double bed delivered by Argos during the last 18 months and on both occasions the men had delivered the beds right into the bedrooms with no fuss – same carpet same turn in the stairs. If Argos provides a delivery service for beds/furniture etc. which entails entering a house then why do they not provide drivers with overshoes/shoe protectors like most other people who have to deliver into your home? Most stairs have a bend somewhere either at the bottom or the top or indeed like ours at a half landing in the middle - it has never been a problem for other furniture delivery companies and indeed was not a problem for the previous Argos men when they delivered two much larger beds. When I finally got through to the “Directors Team” to complain I was told that delivery into the house is totally at the discretion of the delivery men if they decide the carpet is too light or the stairs have a bend in them then they can refuse to bring the furniture into the house. I asked what would happen if when the delivery men arrived they found the householder was disabled and I was told the position was exactly the same if the delivery men decided that they did not want to bring the item into the house then they could refuse and presumably the item would stay on the drive! I realise that somewhere buried in all the small print of the terms and conditions there will be a clause allowing Argos to do this but come on if Argos are going to sell furniture and offer a delivery service then they should deliver into the house, other furniture stores do. So if you are disabled, elderly or just on your own and you don’t want your new three piece suite or bed left on your drive then the message is simple DON’T BUY IT FROM Argos!

I will never use the Argos card again. Ordered a table for my mum to be delivered to her address 12 miles away. They advised that the computer system could not deliver to the address I wanted even though the warehouse is nearer to mums address. Staff re ordered the table to my address advised they'd refund me original order. I delivered the table myself but had to pay for next day delivery as this was the only day I was in and they refunded me half the cost. Still costing me £10 to be delivered to an address where I had to deliver it myself. Numerous phone calls and emails later and almost 2 months later I am still being charged for 2 tables. I have emails saying the matter is being dealt with but it has now shown again on my latest statement. Staff are very pleasant but inneffective as nothing happens, departments don't talk to each other or can't access, Parts of the computer system, apparantly? Phoned once again !!! Last night to be transferred and then cut off. Phoned back asked for manager told I would have a call back, still waiting. All mistakes are by Argos staff and computer system yet I am still being charged for a second table and chairs I have never ordered and or had. The costs are mountin in phone calls and I am exasperated!!!! NEVER USE THIS SERVICE unless you want to pay for goods and services you have never received! And have no reassurances it will ever be rectified!!!

Visited your scunthorpe store and was appalled by the customer service. After waiting 10 minutes at the jewellery counter. I went in search of a member of staff. And was told to wait. When eventually a member of staff did appear no sorry for wait etc. no manners. Very unprofessional will not visit again. If this is the attitude of staff.

I don't know where to start with Argos service-last Christmas we were left with no fridge for two weeks as they brought in a damaged fridge and gave us no option but to wait for 2 more weeks Just for them to sort it out where we paid for the service and the product and yet again two days ago I ordered a microwave for my wife's bday gift making it a same day delivery and I haven't received it till date which is already a 3rd day where I have been getting texts and email confirmation upon confirmation that's it's on its way but never turns up where I wasted 6 hours of my time 3 hours each day just waiting for to receive it!! I mean how bad can the service be and how would person in charge of the delivery dispatch get away with this. I have been refunded my delivery costs me £5 voucher the next day but are you serious, is that the best Argos does as an excuse of customer service failure ?? Does Argos think we care about £5 voucher when we spend hundreds for the product and service - It's a shame on such a big enterprise like Argos that they hire techs and personals who can meet up with their customer service. Never again I am ordering from Argos again in my life.

Used Argos a few times for furniture. Should of learnt my mistake the first time I bought. Purchased for over £400 a display/drawer/storage unit for living room, after 2 to 3 years it started looking shabby and falling apart. About a year and half ago, bought a bedroom wardrobe and chest of drawers . Description said it was pine , but when delivered it was M.D.F. with one strip of pine as a support at the back of both units. Put together and it was ok . But after about a 10 months we started finding ball bearings from the runners in the drawers. Then all drawers gradually collapsed. When contacting Argos they said cause we are out a warranty they would not send new runners and we would need a accredited tradesman to look the runners and say they was defective. Not been funny but I've been in engineering all my working life to say never by this crap.

On 24th November 2015 I made an order online for a three piece suite and was given a delivery date of 18th December between 10am & 2pm. I recieved a text message confirming this and my old suite was taken away the day before the expected delivery. The delivery never happened so I looked online and found out that the delivery had been re-scheduled for a date in January and at no time had I been informed of this. I rang the Argos customer service number and eventually got to speak to an Argos Direct Team Leader who managed to get the delivery date brought forward to the 23rd December which I agreed to accept and was confirmed to me in an email. I spoke to the Team Leader on her mobile phone on the morning of the 23rd December and she confirmed it would be delivered that day. The suite did not arrive so I rang the customer service number. The person who I spoke to was one of the most obnoxious people I have ever had to deal with and he denied all knowledge of the delivery date being moved forward despite me having an email confirming it. When I told him I wanted the suite delivered that day as promised he said "well your not going to get it then are you". After getting nowhere with customer services I then used the Argos Helpers Twitter account to find out why the suite wasn't delivered but never recieved an answer. I was eventually given a delivery date of 4th January 2016 which was confirmed in an email, and once again the suite wasn't delivered. My wife rang customer services and managed to speak to another Team Leader who then arranged for two further delivery dates, the sofa on 7th January and chairs on 15th January. Both of these deliveries were made. We had re-arrange our Christmas and New Year plans because of having nothing for guests to sit on. The level of service we recieved from Argos was nothing short of appalling and we eventually recieved a cheque for £75.00 as a goodwill gesture. I never did get an answer why the delivery dates kept getting missed. The feeling I got with dealing with people at Argos was one of a couldn't care less attitude, despite the many empty "we are sorry" comments. Even in the covering letter with the cheque was wrongly worded and was obviously meant for someone else. Needless to say we won't be shopping at Argos again.

Ordered a fridge 2 weeks ago - currently without a fridge so needed a new one desperately. Took a day off work to receive delivery only to get a text message this morning saying there was an issue with stock and earliest delivery would now be Monday. What kind of logistics system has your order for 2 weeks but can only advise of 'issues with stock' on the day of delivery? Appalling standard of service and I have requested a refund - I would rather take my money elsewhere.

Manager? My a$$ I bought a Washing Machine, bearing in mind it wasn't cheap. I walked into the Winsford, Cheshire Store and waited at the collection point. I was then approached by the "manager" and as she looked me up and down, trying to look for a ticket. I explained i paid for this online and i have a text & email to confirm. She (in a snotty way) said i can't collect - i have to go through a till to get a ticket (never heard this before)... so i moved 1 meter to the left and then i was served - still didn't get a ticket! She then walked out from the back with my item on a trolley and looked at me, stopped and handed me the item & trolley. She said, she can't help me lift this HEAVY washing machine as there's only 2 people in the store - sorry but this isn't my fault! So i had to struggle moving this item out the store and all the way to my car AND lift it into my boot! If she's classed as a manager she needs sacking

After having an issue with an order that still hadn't been resolved for 4 days I rang up customer service to be treated absolutely poorly. When expressing the issue the man on the other end of the phone told me I was just a customer and so my problem wouldn't be resolved today and it had to be prolonged for ANOTHER 24 hrs. Understandably frustrated by this mans disgusting attitude I later asked to speak to a manager to be told there wasn't a manager. Only to eventually contradict himself to tell me there is infact a manager but I wasn't allowed to speak to them.

I went into Argos yesterday to buy some earrings. I stood waiting at the counter for 20 minutes or more. When an employer came over she sighed at me more than once, she then said if I need anything then I must go to another counter as there is no one here. I asked if I could have a quick look at the earrings in the display cabinet, she sighed AGAIN and said ugh hold on I need to get a key. So I said don't worry about it and left. She didn't try to stop me or anything. I know it was a Friday afternoon but I had been at work too. Not acceptable customer service. I took my custom and money elsewhere and got my earrings in a matter of minutes from a very polite woman at a jewellers. Not good Argos. Disappointed. Hounslow Argos - Friday 15/4/16

Online orders were getting cancelled automatically due to a sustem error apparently. Then called customer care and placed the order directly with them and confirmed order and delivery? hung up and had the order cancelled again. When you call then back they have no clue whats going on and are the least helpful or competent nitwits on the planet handling customercare. Shocking service and shameful given its onshore here in the UK.

I bought a bathroom cabinet, put it up and was happy so I ordered another 3 days later with the same cat No when I put it up the shelf fittings where missing so I improvised, however when I actually put the second cabinet up it was visibly different in three ways so they where not a matching pair. When I contacted ARGOS the said that the only way they could anything was if the cabinets where returned to Argos in the original packaging. I told them they where actually on the wall and this made no difference to them. I WILL NOT BE USING ARGOS AGAIN AND I WOULD ADVISE ANYBODY LOOK ELSEWHERE IF YOU BUY SOMETHING THAT IS WRONG YOU WILL NOT GET ANY HELP.
