“Placed an order to be delivered on October 3rd, which I then cancelled, the order was delivered anyway which I refused, I immediately called, as Asda had taken the money out of my account, I was reassured a refund would be processed. I called again on the 7th as I still had not received my refund, again I was assured that this will now be processed as It was not requested previously, I was told I would receive a confirmation e-mail and refunded within 4-5 days. On the 16th still nothing, called again only to be told the same thing. I called 4 times on the 23rd as I kept being told the system was down and again reassured that this has now been escalated. Asda have now had my money for 3 weeks, it is the worst customer service I have ever received I dread calling them, as they say that they will action Something But actually don’t, they just seem to want to get you off the phone. When I asked to speak with a manager I was transferred to payroll who could not help me, does anyone have any suggestions of where I go from here please.”
“Awful, 75% of the order missing but only informed when it is too late to cancel. Not refunded for days so can’t even do an do the shop in store. Ridiculous system, never have any of these issues when ordering from another supermarket.”
“Well I have been going to Asda in Ashton Manchester every Thursday now so far this year and so far in the last few months and in the last 3 weeks recently I’ve been treated absolutely atrociously. Not only that but I cannot even complain about it because there are conveniently no ways to get in touch! Tried calling the number but it tells me to contact them on the website. I go on the website and it tells me to ring their number! It’s a joke!
Anyway
Here’s what happened specifically. The last story is the worst one of all.
A women cut in front of me in a queue. I let it go but the woman started an argument with me. When staff came they refused to let me have my groceries because they sided with the woman over me even though she was at fault.
I got a pizza slice from the cafe and it was instantly cold because the woman serving me left it out in the cold air whilst continuing to serve me and I was having problems with my fathers credit card to pay. When I asked for a new one or for it to be heated up she actively blamed me for why it went cold. She said it’s because I kept walking away and back again. That was because I had to go get another card in order to pay and you left it out whilst I did so moron!
Then when another woman called Jane came with the rest of our food she openly chastised me for not saying please and thank you as if I were a child! It spoiled my day.
Too many kids screaming and banging the booths in the cafe.
But these were mild in comparison to the final offence. All of this happened 3 Thursdays in a row that I went there.
Today I was there to pick up my very important inhaler from the chemist which i has ran out of and could barely breathe.
One of the chemist staff named Tim mason had taken a dislike to me months ago and it was because of this that the entire staff refused to serve me and told me I had to go get it from somewhere else. So I went mad because now I’d have to spend more money on a taxi and inconvenience myself to go all the way across town to the next nearest pharmacy in concord way when they could’ve just handed me the darn bag right there and then! As you can imagine I was furious! I did write a letter of complaint but have nowhere to post it. Abysmal service.
As you can imagine I shall not be stepping foot nor spending another dime in that terrible store”
“Today I did a click and collect at the Asda store at Horwich Bolton. I feel that I must express my concern at the service I received as I did this due to the fact that I am in my 70s and as i am vulnerable, i am being extremely careful with shopping during Covid 19. My slot was between 4 and 5 and I arrived at 4.05. I was told to wait in the doorway which would have been fine had my order been available to take to my car. However, it wasn't and I waited 15 minutes during which time a flow of people walked past me putting me in a very precarious position. I would have had less contact had I shopped in store. This completely defeated the object of doing click and collect. Surely it would make more sense to have dedicated parking spots close to the store entrance so that staff can bring it out to your car. This would avoid unnecessary contact with both staff and the general public. When I expressed my concern I was told that only 1 customer at a time could be dealt with. Fair enough, I was in no hurry but don't put me at risk by making me stand where every customer exiting the store has to pass me! Its a free service I know but on this occasion I really should have shopped in store so that I could avoid all customers who were in my vicinity. I would rename this 'service click, wait and collect.' It needs revamping drastically as it is currently not as described and I for 1 will not be using it again.”
“Non existent customer service. Cancelled online order but couldn’t be bothered telling us. We phoned them but they said order would come later(it didn’t) Phoned next day and was told we’d get an email to reschedule (we didn’t). Find out eventually that Asda cancelled the order without even contacting us despite them being aware I’m on the vulnerable list.”
“Incredibly awful service. Online order never arrived. No contact from Asda so telephoned customer services who gave a new delivery time that conveniently was exactly the same time as their phone lines closed. Delivery never arrived. Phoned the next day and was promised an email to arrange a new delivery time. Never arrived and looked on Asda online and it said my order was cancelled. No explanation or apology from Asda despite them being aware that I’m on the vulnerable list.”
“I went to my local store at Clacton-on-Sea I thought I get pizza that was made up 2 women behind the counter we're like joined at their hips not a face mask on and standing close to each other and put in food on the pizzas with their bare hands should have gloves on it's like the staff can do what they want as Joe public have to go by the rules so why is ASDA staff different would a shop there again no now the two brothers who have bought ASDA's should check out it's store's where staff do not wear face masks stop the money at the staff wages as they will only do it once”
“I was in the dome Asda in Doncaster in my wheelchair .
I asked a young man called Adam to pass me something off the shelf
He said " Carnt you see I'mF'ing busy busy doing my work
I just went out bought nothing but my bill usually is 150£ there loss
Will never go again went to morrisons”
“Asda yet again have let me and my family down I tried to order Asda cauliflower rice and it has been out of stock for weeks now and Asda cauliflower rice does not contain rice at all but Asda keep offering me the same alternative which is Asda steamed rice which is not the same and two adults in our house can not eat rice big let down again”
“Placed an online food order a hour before it I was due I was called to say the driver had gone sick ! And that I had to call another number to reschedule my shopping delivery !!! The number I was given was wrong it took another 10 minutes to get back through to Chatham Asda , was given another number ! Then told it was down to Asda Chatham to arrange another delivery or refund !! Will not be use Asda again I was given wrong information told I had to wait 5 days for a refund”
“Made online grocery order of £203. Checked my account on day of delivery and they have taken 4 more multiple payments out totalling over £800! It appears that every time I amended my order they just stuck another pending payment in my account.
Pending I thought so it won't be processed but oh no it was!
This left me with a balance of just £270.
Contacted customer services 3 times all of them rude, with incoherant pigeon English and unhelpful, one was even chewing gum and heard someone whistling in the background!
I was shocked at their manner and unprofessional, flippant immature approach. One of them was more interested in telling me what a lovely name HE had rather than sort my problem out. Just weird!
Eventually received an email saying I will be refunded £400 in 3-5 days and asked to take a screen shot if there were any other pending transactions which there are!
So I'm left with £270 in my account and a family with one income plus a disabled child but Asda couldn't care less.
Fuming! Contacted CEO to complain, heard nothing. Had another order booked for following week which I've cancelled. Would rather starve will never use them again.

“Having placed an order for delivery ASDA made their usual pending payment request, but not satisfied with that they made a 2nd pending request later the same day, upon realising the payments had been duplicated I contacted customer service, who made a big effort to apologise and said that immediately after delivery the repayment of the 2nd pending and any shortfall would be reversed with my bank, delivery made no reversal, they now say up to 5 working days, whilst I am not in need of the funds immediately I does strike me that they have removed access to my monies for a period of 7 days, without any care that should i need the money to pay a bill I will maybe get charged for late payment etc, if in this modern era a company the size of ASDA cannot do an immediate refund, as amazon does, and Sainsbury’s then maybe there new owners should look at reviewing there customer charter,.”
“Just visited Asda in Shipley. There seemed to be a complete disregard for wearing face coverings in this branch with many of the customers not bothering!! On leaving, I asked the security guys about this, a shrug of the shoulders said it all. If Asda can't be bothered to politely remind customers, then I can't be bothered to shop there.!”
“Just paid a visit to Asda in Shipley. It's quite common to see tha odd customer without a face mask these days but at this branch, there seems to be a complete disregard for mask wearing!
On leaving the store, I mentioned this fact to the security guys but just got a shrug of the shoulders with the remark
"Sorry but we're not the police" if this store can't be bothered to politely remind customers to wear a mask then I can't be bothered to return.”
“HAD ASDA VEHICLE SHUNT MY VEHICLE. DRIVER DELIBERATELY FAILED TO STOP TO EXCHANGE DETAILS. HAD TO SPEND REST OF MORNING SEARCHING FOR AND REPORTING TO AN APPROPRIATE POLICE STATION AND TO REPORT THE INCIDENT TO THE NEAREST ASDA MAIN HEAD RETAIL OUTLET.
INFORMED ASDA OF CIRCUMSTANCE AND APPLIED FOR COMPENSATION FOR LOST TIME, ECT. A CONCERNED SOUNDING EMPLOYEE OF ASDA CONTACTED ME BY PHONE TO ASK OF SITUATION, BUT SINCE PLACING REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL RETRIBUTION, I HAVE NOT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM ASDA OF THIS APPLICATION AND MY FURTHER CONTACTS HAVE ALL UP TO NOW, SEEM TO BE IGNORED.
THEY ARE AWARE OF DRIVER, THEY KNOW THE JUGGERNAUT INVOLVED, THEY CLAIM TO HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE.
THEIR RESPONSE TO THE INNOCENT VICTIM SHUNTED IN TO THE NEXT ROAD USED BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC?......
NOTHING!

“Order weekly shop online for delivery on Saturday 26th Sept - arrived 6.30pm. 10 items not available. Fresh diced beef had to used by the following day - Sunday, 27th Sept! There should have been at least 3 days before use by. Pickers should be more aware.”
“Many items were missing from my home delivery last week which I reported immediately. One cannot phone them unlike Waitrose. I had to use the automated system online. I accept these things can happen at times and in fact, it had happened once before when the priciest items were missing. I had not realised the three-day rule for Asda and lost out. This time around, so many items were missing that it was unforgivable. I immediately reported it, ticked the items missing and requested a refund. I had to order the items from another company and pay more for the same day delivery as the missing items included necessities like bread.
Asda has told me my request for refund has been rejected. I will be taking them to small claims court if they do not resolve the issue immediately as they have taken funds from me fraudulently without providing me with the goods.
Their customer service took an entire week to reject the refund request without getting into any conversation or contact. I find the service non-existent and pitiful. They have lost my custom for good with their behaviour.
In a world of Covid-19 when every household is suffering, the supermarkets are thriving and making a mint of it. Therefore, this behaviour is doubly unforgivable and unacceptable not to mention downright illegal.”
“went in asda today with a hidden disabilities lanyard on and got rudely asked and told that we needed a face mask then when we had told them that we cant because of that they started to ask why we couldn't which isnt allowed anyone wearing them should not have to explain why they have one on because of many reasons. many other stores such as tesco already have tho posters up about the lanyards so they are publicly aware of them”
