Terrible customer service, really horrible. You can't get to a person! I bought a iPhone 11 from them. It would not connect to the internet. It would connect to a router but then say there was no internet. This was tried with several routers that my other devices would connect to easily. I sent the phone back and there was now an exchange of emails explaining the iPhone's issues. None of their "solutions' would work. I asked for a repair or refund. Never got either. So I'm out 200 and have no phone. It's a SCAM and you should avoid them - the worst customer service I have ever experienced. A zero star rating is too good for them.

They are a scam site honestly! they sell you items that work alright not even fine for a couple months and then they stop, I bought a phone off of them that only worked fine for two months and then stopped working, when I reached to them they said it falls under the warranty still so I sent it back so they could fix it, when I did the only thing they said was that they couldn't own up to the warranty cause it had been water damaged which was nothing but a lie has it had never even been in contact with water it was just their way of unbinding themselves from the situation, so they did nothing and even returned it without the charging cable which I had also sent back, so if you can buy a new phone instead and avoid buying from these thieves!!

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY........turns out the 'quality, refurbished product' I had been led to beleive I was buying was not this at all. The phone had been reburbished to a very poor standard. The back glass had been replaced and had a very small amount of adhesive holding it in place. There were screws missing and a metal bracket floating loose inside the phone (luckily it had not touched anything that could have killed the phone, or even worse shorted the battery and caused a fire). It may look ok from the outside, but you have no idea what's lurking inside.

They offered $28 for my iPad Air 2. They claim to offer confirmation of buy-backs within 48 hours of delivery. After 10 days, they agreed to pay me the $28 that was offered originally because their subcontractor, Duck Soup, had not inspected the iPad. 24 hours later, they rescinded the offer saying Duck Soup had now inspected the iPad and determined there were several defects including scratches and dents. The supporting photos provided showed none of these things. I am hopeful they will ship my original device back to me, but who knows what they will do.

Horrible, slow, “customer service.” I was sold a defective iPhone that took a month to get a return claim for. They advertise on their website as “verified refurbished” which is a sham. I paid $75 in transfer data fees which they would not compensate me for. They don’t care about their customers. Worst buying experience of my life.

STAY AWAY. I returned a Samsung phone that was constantly restarting, within the warranty period. Included pictures of the phone in my online return form. Backmarket sent my phone back, and stated the warranty was voided due to cracked camera, evidence of dropping. However, there were no cracks or damage of any kind when I sent the phone to them. I packaged it well, in the same packaging I received the phone. I know they damaged it themselves - whether on purpose or not I don't know, but they're using it as the reason they won't honor the warranty. Now I have no phone and no recourse. I asked repeatedly to be contacted by a manager, no contact. You can't call anyone, it's all online correspondence. I do NOT recommend this company. They are not honest and they do not honor their warranty and they have very poor customer service.

Purchased a defective laptop from Back Market that was confirmed by their technical personnel within the warranty period. Despite shipping the item using their provided shipping label, Back Market denied my warranty claim due to a three-day shipping delay occurring over a long weekend, which placed the return outside the warranty period. The company initially promised repairs, replacements, or refunds but ultimately denied all assistance. This dispute dragged on for nearly a month without resolution.

The device I ordered, a Samsung Tab A, arrived promptly and looked in good condition. However, it needed a password to unlock which wasn't provided. There was no clear way to contact to supplier so I decided to return it the next day. It was not easy to find a return label so I wrote my own. After a few days they contacted me to say it was being looked into. Contact between us continued but excuses were always given by them. I provided proof of posting then proof of the device having been delivered by the post office. They still, after nearly 3 months of correspondence and waiting, refused to give a refund saying they couldn't find it because it didn't have the correct return label. I still haven't received the £158 i payed them. The service provided is dire and all I can say is DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!

I recently sent my Samsung Galaxy fold 4 back to then after purchasing it less than a year ago. It should have been covered under warranty. However, they claimed the phone had water damage. Outside of being caught in the rain a couple of times (with the phone in a case) the phone never got wet. Additionally, it has an ipx8 water resistance rating, which newbs it could be submerged under fresh water for up to 30min at depths of up to 30ft (never tried this of course). Additionally, they never provided any proof of their claim. If true, shouldn’t they have been able to attach some screen shots showing the alleged water damage? Even if they had, I never let the phone out of my site and it was certainly never submerged. The issue I’m having seems to be a fairly common one online. I wish the seller or back market themselves would stand behind their product (or at least provide evidence of their claims).

I recently had a highly disappointing experience with Backmarket. I bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB using Klarna finance on 01/07/2024, paying a deposit and financing the rest. Upon receiving the phone, I found the quality unsatisfactory and initiated a return request. Backmarket provided a Royal Mail label, and I returned the phone using tracking number FC574682906GB. The tracking status showed "out for delivery" on 10/07/2024 and has not changed since. Despite my daily tracking checks, the status remains the same. I tried to contact Backmarket, but phone support is non-existent. I reached out via chat on 15/07 at 14:07 and finally received a response at 16:40, asking for patience and promising an investigation within two days. On 18/07 at 16:02, I received a message requesting my ID, police report, bank details, and proof of address, which I can provide without issue. However, they are still holding onto the phone, and my Klarna finance has not been canceled, continuing to charge me. This experience has been extremely frustrating, and I feel scammed by Backmarket. The lack of proper customer service and the ongoing financial charges have left me deeply dissatisfied. I would caution others against using this website based on my experience.

I would give no stars but 1 star will have to do. They failed to send the product I paid £153 for, then took over ten days to get to the point of pretending to do anything about it (whilst the money sits in their account) and then demanded I send a picture of my PhotoID to start the refund process. I refused as there is no need for them to have my photo ID to sort out my refund. They are now withholding my money until I provide photoID and I haven’t received the product I paid for. This organisation is terrible for consumers and they are holding money in their accounts for as long as possible, with unreasonable demands for photoID. Avoid Backmarket!

BackMarket isn't what it seems. They don't sell electronics. They provide services to used electronics sellers. They charge the sellers to get customers and handle orders. If you have a problem, you have to hope the anonymous used electronics seller you bought from chooses to live up to the warranty. BackMarket has no incentive to help, they get paid by the seller. They work for the seller to help the seller deal with you (as "efficiently" as possible). The fewer warranty claims the sellers honor, the more money BackMarket can charge, the more profitable they are. I thought I was buying a BackMarket product. I now realize I WAS a BackMarket product.

I did a trade-in on my old iPhone. I was offered $67, which I accepted. I mailed in the phone, they received it and approved the payment for $67 on July 2nd. It's now July 16 and they are still giving me the run around as to why they haven't sent the payment. They've asked for copies of my driver's license 3 times, which I've sent (3 times), and each time, it's not good enough. They asked a 4th time for a copy of my license, and I now think that they are scamming me!

I purchased a phone from BackMarket on 10/17/23. I received the phone and after about 3 months or so, it started powering off and back on randomly. The phone had a one year warranty, but I didn’t realize that I had to send the phone in first. I didnt have another device to use while I sent that one back in, so it took me some time to be able to buy another device so that I wouldn’t be without a phone. I finally sent my device back in on 6/24/24. I wiped all of my information off the phone, package my phone up carefully, with additional bubble wrap, etc to ensure that it would arrive in good condition back to BackMarket. I received a message through the app a couple days later stating they received an empty box, asking me if I forgot to put the phone in the box. Thankfully, I packaged my phone at my job and I have it all on video. I have the video of when the UPS guy came and picked it from my job because he makes regular, daily, drop offs and pickups from us because we are a very popular retail establishment. I sent them the video of me packing it and when the UPS driver left out of the store with the package. Despite me sending this to them, they (multiple customer service agents) continued to send me requests for a document that I should have been given when I handed over the package. I continued to refer to the video documentation and explaining that I didn’t take it to a shipping facility and we never have any problems with shipping items from my store. My back and forth communications have been going on for 2 weeks now. I have asked on multiple occasions for a manager to call me, but nothing. I woke up this morning and all of a sudden, I have an email from BackMarket stating that fraud has been suspected on my BackMarket account and it has been suspended. So now, I have zero access to my account to be able to reference my order, the conversations I’ve had regarding my missing phone, and I still have no phone nor any money for my phone. I have my tracking number of where I sent it back but everything else is in the BackMarket account. At this point, I feel that BackMarket is a scam. They have taken my money, someone has my phone, and I am not being compensated despite doing my due diligence in trying to simply get a phone repaired that I had for less than an year and started showing issues within a few months of purchase. There isn’t a number for me to call. Everything has to be communicated through the app (which I no longer have access to) or this email that I received this morning regarding the suspected fraud.

Phone number one was received which very deep scratches and scores across the screen. It was returned for repair. Phone number one was not sent back. Instead a second phone was sent. This was in a very battered state and very dirty. It had not even been cleaned. All of the ports had dirt inside them and there was plenty around the camera lenses on the back. I queried this as firstly a different phone was sent and secondly I questioned if this phone had been refurbished at all? The customer service was very sketchy and almost accusing that it was my fault that I had now been sent two different phones. It was only in later messages that they actually said that if a phone is returned with screen issues then the company would not repair it and return it. It would have been better if the customer service had actually given me some options in the first place. The second phone that was sent, the customer service said they would get to the bottom of the situation. Instead all I got was a message saying that because it was dirty it did not mean that it had not even refurbished!?!?!? Shocking service- appalling communication-bitterly disappointing. I tried to give them the benefit of a third time lucky. All they did was refund. What a waste of a company and a waste of time.

We bought an iPhone 12 and when it arrived the touchscreen wasn’t working. We started the return process on backmarket.con but the site is set up so it makes it literally impossible to complete. We ended up calling the customer service number that is nowhere in their website and in order for us to return the phone we have to jump through a whole bunch of loops, including waiting for some ‘team’ to ‘approve’ the return/refund. I’ll never buy anything again from backmarket.

They sent me a liquid damaged MacBook and refuse to fix or replace it. The digital bit cannot put me in touch with a human. I will never use this company again or suggest anyone else does.
