“This company needs to be looked in to. Their customer service is awful. I bought a phone never got delivered and now they making me jump through so much hoops to get my refund. I am still waiting. They have wasted so much of my time going back and forth in chat with them. Not even responding to what I am saying but just copying and pasting from a script, responding like robot. “I bought a refurbished phone from Back Market recently. When checking out, the autofill delivery address system filled in my address when typing in my road name. Immediately after checking out, I realised the address was wrong (correct road name/flat number, wrong postcode). I immediately contacted customer support, and had a terrible experience. They seemed disinterested, and refused to cancel my order - even though I'd only just put the order through. They took several hours to respond (an automated response), and had no call-center to contact by phone. They redirected me to Royal Mail to potentially get the parcel redirected, but gave me the wrong contact details. Terrible customer service, and they were completely disinterested and unhelpful when it came to resolving the issue.”

I bought a phone from Back Market in Portugal and returned it later as the battery performance wasn't good. I made the return within the allowed period following all requirements of the Back Market on how to do it. Back Market arranged the shipment.
Several days after I shipped the phone I got an email saying that the seller received an empty box. I was given an instruction to go to the police and file a report. I was promised to get the reimbursement within 2 days after I provide the police report and my ID scan. On the same day I went to the local police office, spent there 3 hours, got the report and sent all to Back Market on the same day.
I didn't receive the promised reimbursement within 3 days instead of 2 as promised, so I texted to the support asking to review my case. 5 minutes later I received an email saying that I'm a scammer and my account got blocked. I was not offered any support to find the phone, they didn't ask any additional questions.
It is important to mention that this wasn't my first purchase from them.
As you are buying used electronics from them there is a big chance that something will go wrong and this is how they treat the customer in that case.”
“I traded in my iphone 11. They evaluated my phone and was supposed to pay me out to the bank account previously paid out when another device was traded. They intentionally dragged out my trade in for a couple months. My trade in is not on online account anymore. They took it. Never trade in with these guys.”

“Avoid like the plague! Ordered a Saumsgun active watch 2 in "good" condition from a seller called "Digital Techno" through Backmarket. The watch arrived in good time but was instantly more scratched than "good" conditon but I wasn't too concerned. I then tried to turn it on but nothing G happened. Still not too concerned I left it to charge to 100%. Unfortunately, it still didn't work. I tried all the advise and techniques online but still nothing so I requested a refund. A label was provided for me by Backmarket and I duly packaged the watch up in the origin packaging it came in. Several days later I received a message that the watch had been received but the seller said it wasn't the same watch they sent out!! No proof provided but simply that they wouldn't be refunding. I provided multiple pictures of the watch both during charge and when packing up to return and yet Backmarket just seem to instantly side with the seller. As far as I can tell, either
A) I was sent out an incorrect watch initially, hence maybe it isn't work
B) I was issued with an incorrect return shipping label
C) The seller simply doesn't wish to admit they sent out a dodgy watch and doesn't want to issue a refund
I have asked to escalate this further so we shall see where that goes.
Please please please, save your hard earnt money and give BackMarket a miss. Use eBay or Amazon Renewed. Both of which have great customer service and care about their customers and ensuring they get what they paid for.”
“Don’t buy from them, I used to be a Back Market customer, not anymore, I purchased an iPhone 14 Pro Max in the UK, their seller (Loop Mobile) sent me a ISLUS version with no physical sim, when I returned it as instructed they claimed they have no records of this phone sold, and they haven’t returned the phone, haven’t given me a refund, and I’ve been trying to reach customer service for days with no answer.

“Never will I use this company again, it’s a shambles and need investigating. I Ordered phones for myself and husband. My first one had a low battery, this was exchanged with no problem as I checked the battery life the day or 2 after as it wouldn’t hold a charge.
My dad ordered one at Christmas, he’s had problems with it for a while so I returned it. The messages that were sent from Back market after receiving it back were very confusing. Well if you’ve had the phone a month Bla Bla Bla then after 3 months it means this then after 6 months the battery degrades. I didn’t have a clue what the actual warranty was nor did I understand what they were talking about. I said I want a refund, so they said, well the seller said that there isn’t a problem with it. We’re sending the phone back to you. They said I could complain directly to the seller however, I bought from them so my contract is with them surely. I also got the impression the messages were sent from somewhere overseas and were scripted. I’m fuming I’m going to try Resolver as I don’t know what else to do. Scamming t***s”
“Tried to order 2 iPhones for over 2 weeks. Jumped through all ID hoops after orders continually cancelled. Opened account and none of the 10 or so order attempts showed up on my card “oops, no order made”. Customer service indicated it was an issue on credit card end. Cleared purchase w credit card. Continued to get cancellation of order from Back Market. Finally gave up and ordered older model through Apple Store.”

Ordered an iPhone. Delivered it, but it was broken on delivery. The box was perfectly intact. The phone had stripes all over the screen. I chatted online with BackMarket (no way of phoning them) they started a chat. I sent images of the screen, of the box in every angle possible. No apologies, they instantly blamed courier. They said an investigation would be launched. The next day I was sent a return label. The post office advised that I use my own tracking and insurance so I paid for this. Was delivered the next day with proof of delivery. BackMarket is saying their Reseller G&Iinternational Ltd did not receive it. Even though I have sent them proof. This was on Monday it's now Friday and no refund, no apology, no phone. 250 GBP out of pocket. No accountability. An utterly despicable company. Ripped off!”
“2 weeks ago I ordered an iPhone 12 it came and looked great on the outside however as I started the transfer the screen started to tap on stuff on its own. It kept doing it so I requested a repair/replacement. I have received the “replacement” today and the same issue has occurred, so in my opinion the seller resent me the same phone I had issues with before without any form of fixing it whatsoever! I am so disappointed with my experience with the back market as a few of friends have had good experiences, however the same cannot be said for me. I also tried to call up and speak to someone however, the phone hung up before I could do so! So, now I am stuck with the same broken phone I was given before hand and no idea what to do from here.”
