Writing regarding the failure to deliver and the failure to own up to repeated mistakes.
I bought a sofa bed from Amazon, seller Yaheetech UK last week
On the first delivery attempt your driver got to the flat, and took off without even taking the sofa out after seeing the steps to the house. Wouldn't have been much of a problem if the driver hadn't then said the parcel was delivered and that I was there to collect. The driver also sent a photo of the entrance that apparently served as proof of delivery.
I chased your customer service for this who outrageously doubled down that I had received the sofa.
Besides the fact that I really don't understand why your driver would lie about the delivery or interaction because he could have just said that the parcel went back to the depot but that wasn't the case, probably trying to see if he could get away with it I suppose, hadn't I argued with the your " customer service" if u can call it that, this is the response I had:
We understand that you have raised a query regarding the parcel that has been delivered by Yodel. I can confirm that an investigation was raised, and the service center has confirmed that the parcel was delivered on 26th of September 2024 at 12:22. The parcel was acknowledged by Natali as per the investigation. Our drivers capture images for all deliveries that they make and I have attached this image for you which I hope will help.
If you have any further disputes regarding this delivery, we would request you to please contact the retailer as they will be able to advise you regarding the next steps that need to be followed to have this matter resolved.

Would like to know how this investigation was carried over. Now the facts are that I was not present in the house as I had not moved yet. LIE NUMBER ONE. The men who opened the door for the driver were the 2 contractors doing work at the property who were aware the the parcel was going to be delivered and would help carry the parcel.
I would also very much like to know how is it that your company accepts a photo of a door AS PROOF OF DELIVERY,a joke that I am sending attached for your consideration.
I then had NO RECOGNITION THAT ANY OF THIS HAPPENED and only given another delivery date ON THE DAY, no delivery window. I then contacted your "customer service" again to be told that the delivery had been attempted and rejected. THIS IS NOT TRUE, LIE NUMBER 2. After arguing again I was told I could only have it delivered after the weekend, Monday. As I had not received any information ON THE DAY, neither text call or email regarding this delivery I had to contact again to see about it and ask for tracking/ delivery information, was given a tracking number and guaranteed it would be delivered today and that it has to been in person and not give anymore excuses for this joke of service I took the entire day to receive this. By 5pm I still had not had a delivery window or any email message or text, NOT ANYTHING on the state of the delivery so I once again CONTACTED YOU TO BE TOLD THAT DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES it WOULD BE DELIVERED THE NEXT DAY. Once again the people or chat bot you are working with could not be of any help.
TO ADD TO IMMENSE INSULT TO THE INJURY I was told to collect it myself at the depot.
I am a full time student and a full time worker. I have missed uni classes THAT I PAY WITH MONEY THE I LOST AT WORK BY NOT BEING THERE because I have taken 2 days for this already, and tomorrow I will be taking another one. I have also spent stupid amount of money on long uber journeys to another house since the parcel is my bed. To make it sweeter, tonight I'm sleeping on the floor.
I have not ever dealt with such an incompetent service. 0 ability to acknowledge and make up for you mistakes.
I want to know exactly how the investigation was conducted. I want to know what happened to the parcel on that day when your driver fabricated stories and then had your customer service doubling down on the stories AS IF I'M CRAZY or lying. Since in all this ridiculous back and forth no one seems to want to clarify the situation, that seems to me like a theft attempt and a lazy cover up attempt.
Besides clarification I am also looking to be compensated over the money lost due to the multiple failures of your service and lack of integrity of your collaborators.

The "friendly" chat team asks you politely to sit and wait patiently as days go by, and your parcel isn't being delivered. I shop online quite a lot, and now I don't buy from retailers using Yodel as they are absolutely the worst. Not reliable at all, completely useless.not once have they delivered within given time frame. It's time to retire, Yodel.”

“Terrible service, 2 days running I was given a 2 hour window for delivery and after tracking both days received messages, one saying sorry we missed you when no-one came to my home and was nowhere near my home, the second day the message was sorry unable to deliver or something like, both received late on so I had wasted my time staying in tracking, now told tomorrow and I suspect the same would happen again so cancelled as it agitated me so much, never again Yodel.”
“They didn't even bother to deliver my parcel claiming they couldn't find it . I've never had an issue like this with ant other delivery company even evri is not this bad”
“Things go wrong, i accept that and was happy to speak to Yodel to try and resolve the problem.
Firstly the problem, I bought postage from them for two parcels, but local shop wouldn't take the parcels saying they are too big. THis is despite paying for the correct size of parcel. Turns out the problem is the Yodle drivers not wanting to collect the parcels formt eh drop-off shops.
Scedonly, when I talked to Yodel you are greeted with a message saying they will not tolerate abuse, 100% agree with this. Upon speaking to someone they were rude, talked over me and didn't listen to my issue and provided whole unacceptable advice. I was extremely polite in trying to bring it back and asking for their help with the problem as detailed above. The advice given was to request a refund and use a different courier.
I am totally taken aback by the whole experience. I cannot believe that Yodels' acceptable customer service values end up with advising a customer to use a different service.
Well the answer is I am happy to go to a competitor and not come back, unbelievable!”
“Waited and waited for a parcel but it hadn't arrived - so I looked into my G'mail inbox.
Delivered, they say! Like hell!
Sender checked with Yodel and was told that the driver hadn't taken a photo on that occasion (so why not?) - but that his Sat Nav showed that delivery was at the right place.
And as it happened, I was working out the front of our house tidying up the bushes so I would have seen the van - heck, the driver might have tripped over me - IF he'd stopped and tried to deliver.
So they're trying to blame me, the recipient. They say it was pushed through our letterbox - well, if so, one of our cats must have run off with it.
This is now something like the third time that we've had troubles with Yodel. Occasionally they're fine but when they go wrong they cerainly make a total balls-up. Only 'good' point was that the item wasn't expensive...
Wouldn't use them with a barge pole if I could avoid doing so.”

“Absolutely Appalling Service
I paid extra for a next day delivery and kept receiving messages saying the driver missed me when I was home the entire time. Tried to contact their chat service and basically got told that they cant do anything because they are the web-chat team and don't have numbers to contact any delivery drivers. Been waiting for my parcel for three days without any luck. Will never use this ridiculous service again.
Update: Spoke with three different customer service agents who did not even try to resolve my query and kept repeating the same information. They can't even provide a contact number to speak with someone over the phone. I had to contact the retailer (Clarins) that was kind enough to re-send the same order through DPD within minutes. Take my experience as a lesson and do not use Yodel at all.”
“Parcel has been out for delivery for two days both drivers say they can't find address which is on a main road and Google maps needed parcel and paid extra for delivery now they say they will try again tomorrow after speaking to there chat room useless company”
“Dropped parcel off as usual, receipt given by drop off shop. On tracking, driver said it wasn't there to collect. Painful contacting Yodel, no one to talk to, just Webchat. I started an investigation, checked back with Parcel Shop, submitted documents as requested by Yodel ... and the claim was rejected! Goodwill refund of postage cost but not of the item so I'm now £25 down and no way to redress the problem. Yodel in the past would have accept their responsibility but not now, apparently. Won't use again. Suggest you don't either”
“Yodel are terrible ... not for the first time. I was supposed to receive a ticked package from Virgin Media yesterday. Yodel had tracking details telling me it was arriving between 2pm and 4pm . Nothing. That evening the out for delivery disappeared and has not been updated since. Contacted webchat and "spoke" to an agent who clearly spoke very little english and who told me it would be out for delivery today. Nope.
Needed package today before going away. That won't happen so I guess they will have to return to sender.”
