“Received a ‘sorry we missed you’ message, despite being home. No one had rung the doorbell, or called my phone. No sign of anyone outside. Sadly this isn’t the first time this has happened. Your greatest chance of success is to regularly check your emails (at least hourly) and request to leave with a neighbour even if you’re at home - this way the drivers have to make some effort to deliver.”

They send you text of when to expect your delivery and then you wait at home as I did the whole day only to be sent an email that they are experiencing a problem and that they finally came through and left me a card which was all a lie from the pit of hell. “DHL delivers to my business every day and had already visited in the morning and yet the delivery for my package was after 5pm, when the driver surely knows we are shut. So a valuable package was left with a different business 400metres away who are completely unrelated to my company.
Left with a neighbour should not be when delivering to a business.”

Last week the same happened I arranged for it to be delivered at the post office but as I didn’t know who the parcel was for and had no redelivery number the post office could find it. The parcel got returned to the sender. Then again today he doesn’t knock and puts the slip through with no name. There is NO COMPLAINTS NUMBER. I ended up talking to someone in their accounts department who tried to help but then after 35 minutes on the phone told me the sender is their customers not me and I need to raise a complaint with them. Try calling the accounts team with your complaints and they might actually create a complaints number 02476 937777”
“Awful 1st experience of sending to abroad.
There is a time when you want to send something to someone abroad first time, and you just ordinary person without law knowledge and something goes wrong from beginning.
I decide to send birthday gifts to my family in Mexico with DHL ( just small two gifts with a little of sweets ), I went to DHL Service point to pick up suitable box to pack it in home, DHL worker didn't advised me that they will have to open that box later for check control so I packed that box very well, later I had to repack that box again in DHL service point because I was asked to open sealed box again ( I understand that they had to do that for security reason ).
After I send my parcel in few days my dad has call from DHL and they explained that it's forbidden to send food in Mexico form EU, so they need to remove those sweets. We agreed ( however nobody in DHL wasn't advice me do not send sweets in Mexico ).
Few days later my parcel was attempted to deliver, however courier was asked my dad to pay duties, which was marked in delivery statement I was signed, however DHL customer service desk should mark it CLEARLY that you have to pay duties or taxes.
So resuming all experience it took 8 days to delivery my parcel with Express service and I had to pay 40£ for 2kg box and another 25£ of duties in Mexico!
Never again, and it's not about money it's about services.”
“DHL are totally disgusting. They are the worst delivery company that I have dealt with in my entire life! I was supposed to receive my parcel on Tuesday the 29th October and it is still yet to arrive! Firstly I got an email saying that my parcel will be delivered on a certain time and then I got an email stating that my parcel will be delayed. I also got another email saying that they could not gain access, in which is a COMPLETE LIE as I live in a normal house with a very wide drive! You have to wait around 30mins on hold to get through to a shocking call center where all the advisers do is just lie and also cut you off!! I spoke to Susan who did nothing, Samantha who totally lied through her teeth saying that my parcel had been delivered and it CLEARLY HAS NOT!and Elisa who cut me off. I will never use DHL again for the rest of my life and advise everybody else to never use them! I also received an email and a text message, saying that my parcel has been delivered and it has not. I do believe that this is FRUAD, therefore will hope to take legal action!!! and I have saved all my emails and txt notifications for an audit trail and for evidence!! I will be taking this further and will be in touch with Trading Standards and the Ombudsman for sure about this! Oh and by the way, they have set something up so that I now cannot contact the call center and will have to use an alternative number in which costs SIX POUNDS starting off. So I advise thinking twice before using DHL”

“Absolutely the WORST delivery company in London. Drivers are big LIARS, they don't show up at the delivery address but they write (nobody was at home). I had the same problems with them more than 4 times where drivers skip delivery date and mention that nobody was at home, while I am waiting all day at home. The company management is to blame as they fail to do anything about it. It seems to me that this company, however big and global, is run by some stupids.”

“If I could give them 0 stars I would. Told delivery 15:22 - 16:22. Got message at 16:32 on their booking screen to say they were running late. At 16:40 got message: 24th October 2019 16:40 - We're sorry but we haven’t been able to deliver as our driver was unable to gain access to the delivery address. This is a lie. I am in. There is no problem accessing my flat. My door bell was never rung. I kept checking the road (I live in a cul de sac with very good visibility of the road) but no sign of a van. I do not live near to the collection point. I do not have a safe place to leave parcels. Not all my neighbours are in during the day or reliable.”
“Next day delivery... I'm on day 3 waiting for my delivery to arrive. Everything went well at first, I received despatch emails from DHL, the following day I was stood outside my house and my phone pinged saying DHL had attempted delivery but I wasn't at home... Total lies, they were nowhere to be seen. I spent 30 minutes getting through to their contact centre to be told that the driver had lied and had scanned my parcel when he was nowhere near my house, they checked their GPS system. Apologies passed and promises of delivery the following day. That came and went with zero contact. I haven't been able to get through to them.

“Delivered to home address, wasn't in, had redelivered to DHL drop off shop. Didn't leave me with pick up code or any instruction how to pick up. Staff in pick up shop rude and a jobsworth. Called DHL, struggled to get through to correct department. Was told pick up code would be sent to my phone in 30 mins, 7 days later DHL do not give two hoots, having it out on twitter with them and they seem to not understand how I can pick up the item. Missed the gift it was intended for. DHL do not care. Are compensating me even though I paid £6.99 for next day delivery. Would NEVER use again. Stressful from start to finish. Worst delivery company I've experienced.”
“My advice is do not purchase anything from a company that uses DHL to deliver goods. There tracking is not up to date, there are days when nothing happens to your parcel and they use the word EXCEPTION when they fail to deliver on the day expected, whatever that means! Avoid at all costs, it’s not worth the stress.”
