“Regarding the comments from HR MANAGER. You of course are quite correct with all you say. That checkout person should be fired for their behaviour. It was not far from assault. Had it been me I would have stood my ground regardless. What a confounded cheek. Such behaviour is to be expected from them though. The Dover store in Kent seems to not argue about people packing at the checkout providing it is not at a snails pace. Today we are finally rid of the EU and with any luck this horrible company will go along with it.”
“Aldi Basingstoke Road Reading (not my usual Aldi shopping store) disappointing experience today at 2.45pm. Covid queuing is a pain, changes from week to week in different stores, whereupon today a very rude abrupt aggressive store worker dictating, finger pointing, & wasn't happy I couldn't understand the queuing rules & then had the blatant nerve to sarcastically answer me back when I tried to challenge her on her behaviour. Shall bypass this particular store in future.”
“Aldi's two stores in Silver Spring, MD carry over ripe berries. poor quality produce (like shriveled potatoes) and frequently are out of common staples. I sent a note to customer service and received a canned response that had no relevance to my complaint. An email sent to the CEO was blocked (I guess he has heard enough) , and phone conversation with a manager in customer service went no where as she insisted that she is here to help but could not articulate what help she can provide. Aldi is selling low quality foods at reduced prices and it is not a bargain. Lidl is coming to Silver Spring and I am sure many people will shop there. The prices are slightly higher but the quality is superb”
“Aldi advertised mini beef wellingtons available from 19th December I visited the Walkden store at 7am much earlier than usual on three occasions but still none available one day there was a shelf sign showing where they should be the second day at 7am even the shelf sign had gone and Sam’s thing with the scallops and chorizo rubbish!”
“No packing at the till! This rule is simply absurd. I am a speed shopper, supper organised with my large IKEA bags lining the trolley ready to throw the items in and get out. Last night in Aldi Somerford the cashier stated no packing, I politely said I will be much faster as all I do it throw items into the bags. She said NO. I reassured her it would be no different for her and that it would be quicker for all concerned. She got up out of her kiosk took out my 2 IKEA bags and put them on the floor saying NO you will not. I asked her why Aldi have this rule. Her response was that ‘it is not fair on other customers.’ I would like to understand the real reason for this decision because if it is ‘speed’ I can honestly confirm it is faster for me to simply push the items into my IKEA bag than it is to place them into a deep trolley!!! This process doubled the time at the till for her and I.
A little advice from one who works with people all day every day. ‘Seek to understand and assess the individual situation with kindness rather than imply rules simply for the sake of rules!!! ‘”
“Bought the Carlos takeaway bacon double cheeseburger pizza and for £1.95 I found the quality of it terrible, stuck to the baking tray and all broke up, even though I followed instructions, a very poor pizza indeed, won't buy it again”
“I ordered some Christmas lights from their online store and two weeks later they messaged me to say they were out of stock. It was too late then to order any from anywhere else for them to be in time for Christmas and I do not go to the shops.”
“Store chaotic Toilets filthy male assistant threw my shopping in my trolleyWhen I said I wanted to pu them in my bags he became very angry and shouted I was a troublemaker so that I can get a free bottle of wine! I'm nearly 80 years of age and just 5 feet tall Very distressing
The manager in Eastbourne wasn't interested Appalling”
“Went to Bakewell Aldi Saturday 12th December, so many people crammed into the isles it wasn’t safe, back in March and April there was someone on the door keeping numbers down, cleaning trollies and generally being helpful and I praised them for it to all and sundry, not now though, indeed completely the opposite, their behaving totally irresponsibly, risk them if at your peril.”
“Terrible customer service on the phone and online.
Received faulty item so returned. Tracked and traced return and Aldi has received. Aldi do not send confirmation of return neither informing me about refund. Contacted Aldi by phone and after lengthy phone calls they cut you off and never phone back. Request to talk to a manager and none contact. Phone customer service inform you off different info. Contacted social media and they do nothing. Aldi do everything to keep your monies and refuse refund. Appalling customer service. Buyer beware do not shop with Aldi until they improve policies and provide a good customer service. I have no option to go to ombudsman and also attempt to get a refund by my bank.”
“I got in touch with Aldi at the end of October to have a copy of my online purchase of a stroller, having an upcoming flight in December I thought well ahead.
Every week they send a wrong receipt or nothing at all, only the whorehouse could deal with it apparently and they didn’t do anything.
Someone got in touch beginning of December , they were the guarantee company and they were going to deal with it on my behalf, I have to wait further 9 days... guess what ??? 9 days have gone and NO ONE GOT IN TOUCH !
Disgusting appealing service! They don’t care if theire customers”
“Got stopped in the Ashton under lyne store and my bags searched because they didn't have the item I wanted and I was leaving the shop with nothing.I had my granddaughter with me.I will never go into that store again .I'm glad I kept the receipts for the items I'd bought in other shops.”
“I would just like to congratulate my local Aldi store in Kidsgrove. I always find that the staff are pleasant and helpful. I was served today by Debbie and could not fault her assistance. The store was not overcrowded and the traffic light system works extremely well.”
“I have bought several cans of Activ deodorant recently , where the spray/atomiser stops working after a couple of uses. When contacting customer services I am told they can only be returned or exchanged with a receipt. Surprisingly I don't hang on to my shopping receipts for weeks.
Very disappointed in product and "customer service"”
“Fake products Aldi
why is the 39pence Aldi Cream crackers sometimes tasty and most times tasteless and bland like ply wood?
The ginger l bought was pale green inside like it was artificially grown in a factory, not naturally planted?
Not to mention the arrogant unhelpful rude staff
What a chicanery !!!”
“I have been a loyal customer at Aldi long before you built your large superstores but after my experience this morning at your Fulwood Preston store I will not be returning certainly not until Covid is under control. No trolleys are sanitised, the sanitiser containers which there were two one was completely empty and the other nearly empty [this was this morning at 10.30 a.m.] No control on how many people enter the store and there were several customersnot wearing masks the age of these persons males between 20-30 years old. Also a large number of staff were not wearing masks. According to your website it is "mandatory to wear masks in your stores". One particular man was sniffing coghing and spluttering over the food regularlys putting his hand to his nose and then handling food. I brought this to the attention of one of your staff also the lack of face masks and was met with a "blank" look. When I reached the checkout and was paying for my goods one of these men attempted to come very close to me when I politely asked him to "give me some space and mentioned he was not wearing a face mask". As a customer in your store I expect your Company to employ suitable staff to marshall the store and not take such a cavalier approach to a very serious virus. As of 22 Nov there were over 6,500 confirmed Covid cases in Preston!”
“No customer service 13 people in one line. Only 2 cashiers open, finally they opened another line This no way to treat customers. Could you see Shoprite w 13 people in line?!
It boils down to corporate greed, too cheap to hire another person, rather keep it in THEIR pockets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“I went into Aldi in Dover this morning 16/11/2020 at 0930. It was packed with only one checkout open and queues right to back of the store. Not only that but there was no social distancing whatsoever!! I beat a hasty retreat. Utterly disgraceful AND SHAME ON THEM.”
