If I could give zero stars I would. My sister’s order never arrived, the tried to first blame it on the courier and eventually admitted it was their fault and eventually provided a refund. The beer was meant to be his birthday present. Additionally they make you cancel your subscription by phone but it’s impossible to get through on the phone! I wasringing beer52 numerous times since 8 June to cancel my subscription but I could not get through to them. You cannot cancel online as it says you must phone them! I emailed them and Facebook messaged them and tweeted them but still no response! They clearly want to make it as difficult as possible for you to cancel, otherwise they would have had an option to cancel online. Unfortunately I will have to tell everyone I know to avoid this company.

Flagged a delivery that hadn’t materialised and had clearly gone astray, that was needed for a specific date (father’s day) – which was the whole point of the deal that had been advertised. Despite being assured in two separate phone calls that someone would look into it and get back to me, nobody did, and the delivery missed the date it was required for. When they did get back, said that as I had emailed more than once I’d been placed at the back of the queue each time (great avoidance policy!), failing to acknowledge the phone calls. Also blamed the courier company, missing the point that it was the unreturned calls and lack of action when there was still time to resolve things, that were the real issue. Overall, strike me as very amateurish in their approach to customer service.

Apparently you have to meet the following conditions to even cancel your order: * You can not cancel the day of your order * You can not cancel until your first shipment arrives * You can not cancel on the website * You can not cancel 3 days before your next shipment * You can ONLY cancel over the phone after put into a queue of 15 mins. Is this even legal?

They trick you into subscribing to their service with very wishywhosy T&Cs and once you subscribe they make it extremely hard to unsubscribe! They only way to do it is to call their customer service which does not reply leaving you helpless.

Beer52 When I first came across Beer52 I was super stoked about the range of beers from far and near that I could try without having to find them online and pay for one-offs or shipping. The Good things about Beer52: - If you like trying different beers from around the world you will love trying Beer52. - Within your case you’ll get the latest issue of Ferment Magazine which is a pretty interesting craft beer magazine. - You’ll get a snack within your case, thrown in for free. Now the important bit: What’s Bad about Beer52? - You will not receive any order confirmations at all after your first case. - You cannot request order confirmations. - You cannot cancel your subscription online. - You cannot pause your subscription for more than one month, and you won’t receive notice before your subscription resumes and is billed. - You cannot update the delivery address after noticing that you’ve been billed for yet another month. Once 'Beer52' appears on your bank statement even if it’s only an authorisation, there is no way to cancel or amend the delivery. The marketing company behind the Beer52 branding have done a fantastic job at creating a seemingly inviting and care free website for Beer enthusiasts. The reality is that this company is geared up to sell, sell, sell without much of a care for it’s existing customers. I really looked forward to receiving my first case of beer as I don’t buy beer much and although my supermarkets have a wide selection available, I had no idea where to start. I quickly found that one case of beer would last the best part of a few months and although I would have been happy to receive a couple of cases of beer a year this is not possible to have arranged. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic I received an offer from Beer52 by email for a case of 10 beers for £10. I thought this would be a good time to get some beers in before everything kicked off. After placing my order I had to travel away from home (before the lockdown) and ended up being stuck away from home for what is now almost 3 months. I phoned Beer52 to see if they could change the delivery address but it was too late. This wasn’t their fault and I accepted that I would have to wait to be united with my case of beer. Roll forward 4 weeks and I notice on my online banking that there’s an authorisation for Beer52 appeared that day. When I phoned them to ask what this was for I was told that by taking the offer of beer for £10 the month before I’d enrolled on a subscription. This subscription was for my home address which I was now no longer able to access as I was (still am) hundreds of miles away. I was told that it was too late to amend the delivery date but both boxes of beer would likely be fine in my garage until I return. They then suggested to order another case of beer to be delivered to my current address (which they’d update on my account) to enjoy while the lockdown is in effect. They offered to reduce the price by £10 which while on the phone I thought was better than nothing. Once off the phone I realised how ridiculous it was to have 20 bottles of beer at home which would likely last me more than 6 months and tried to phone back to cancel the subscription. It took a while originally to call them as they were working from home and they were receiving a lot of calls, after 30 minutes I gave up and regrettably forgot about the order. Which brings me onto this month. I am headed home tomorrow in 24 hours of writing this review, cue the email being received from Beer52 to say my delivery was on it’s way. Well that’s not ideal but at least it’s headed to where I’ll soon be. Or not, as I just remembered the address had been updated on the account after being talked into getting another box delivered over the phone the month before. I now have a third box of beer being sent to an address I will no longer be at with no way to cancel, amend or do anything about as Beer52 refuse to send any order reminders or confirmations until they have your money in their account without any possible way of you reasonably requesting a refund. Beer52: I WANT TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION NOW. Not after waiting on the phone to see if I can get through to someone between Mon-Fri 9am-5pm with the already ominous "Please note: We are experiencing high call volumes, expected wait times are currently around 15-20 minutes.". This is ruining your brand. Plenty of people frequently order a few subscription deliveries and cancel for a period of time until they make use of them. Not everyone is trying to cancel forever. And those of us who have cancelled our subscriptions in the past are now so alienated and frustrated that we know not to bother reactivating our subscriptions as we will have such an unnecessarily negative experience with your brand just trying to stop subscriptions for a couple or a few months. I would just order a box of 10 beers from your online shop but a random selection of cheapish beers come to around £44 with £5 delivery fee which is much more than the £29 subscription fee. So I just won’t bother ordering anything from Beer52 ever again.

honestly one of the worst customer service experiences ever. if you arent able to deal with the sheer amount of customer queries, why not add a cancel option on the website so you don't need human interaction for every single cancellation - which will be a lot since you're promoting a free box that requires you to cancel to avoid getting charged. having such a terrible cancellation experience is 1000% persuading me to never return to you guys if I want beer delivery in the future

I ordered my first pack with the promo of £5.95. When I checked my bank account £24 was taken out. 6 emails later I'm still waiting for refund. I've tried calling but ass on hold for 30 minutes and it's not a freephone number either ! Customer service is atrocious! I'm still waiting on refund and still trying to cancel my account. Stay away from this company if you need to speak to anyone !!!!

£1,512 order totally messed up and not delivered Avoid, avoid, avoid. I placed a £1,512 order for 6x yearly subscriptions to Beer52 as a thank you to 6 people for helping me out. 3 of the orders only received a 6-month subscription card, not a 12-month subscription card that I ordered and the other 3 have yet to receive anything whatsoever. The only way I am able to contact the company is via email and they are exceptionally slow at responding, taking 6-7 days to reply each time. They claim to have rectified the orders but I am still without 3 of my orders to a cost of £756!! It's also taken the shine of thanking someone, when I'm now having to chase them to check what orders they've received etc. If they're not bothered about satisfying customers who are spending over £1,000... then god help everyone else. I won't be using them ever again and you shouldn't either.

Would have put 0 stars if I could. Don’t send as a gift. An apparently “fantastic gift” is an advert telling the person to subscribe for the gift you paid for. They would have got a free/£5 first box without the gift through one of the many promotions deeming your gift pointless. If you or they want to cancel this subscription (soon after they receive the gift from you they are charged for the next box) make sure you have over an hour to sit on hold. Apparently they need the bank details to check age. Sending alcoholic gifts through M&S or other companies don’t require bank details and a rolling plan... So basically the “fantastic gift“ you send is an advert to subscribe to a company which would have gotten you free/£5 one anyway and over an hour of waiting to cancel. Enjoy your “fantastic” gift...

Nothing wrong with the beers, although they weren't fantastic either. The one start is for the underhand way you can sign up in 30 seconds online but have to cancel via phone. I couldn't get through to speak to anyone in order to cancel my membership. Process leaves a bad taste in the mouth

Avoid at all costs, delivery is horrendous, either weeks late or damaged! Impossible to cancel as you have to phone and they just don’t answer!

All seemed promising but the cancellation process is absurd and underhand. Unfortunately for them it didn't make me feel guilty about cancellation, rather more resolved to follow through on it. Great idea ruined by sleazy tactics.

Beer52 do not allow you to cancel your subscription via their website, instead they suggest you call a number and also inform you that you will have to wait 15-20 minutes to speak to an operator. I would avoid.

Beers are OK but they make it deliberately very hard to cancel. Very dishonest and sleazy. Had to wait 25 minutes in the telephone queue, whereas to sign up took 2 minutes online. Plenty of time to review them then...

I placed a one off order on 5th May and still waiting for beer or a refund now on 4th June. Customer service has been appalling, taking well over a week to get a reply and my request for a refund has been ignored. Careful your money is at risk!

While I have no problem with the service itself, and their introductory offers are very generous, they make it difficult to cancel your subscription and have various subtle means of making you feel bad about cancelling. I suspect this is deliberate, and it's quite cynical.
