I purchased a beauty dish along with a grid, back in March 2013 at Belfast stores open day. I did not receive the dish until Mid December 2013, some 10 months later. There was no knowledge or communication with me as a customer as to when the Grid would arrive. It was me on every occasion who initiated the contact to see where things where at. It would appear that although these dishes and grids where for sale on offer for the open day, it became quite obvious that they were never in stock in the first instance. On this occasion i am very disappointed with the service and lack of communication. I should have cancelled the order and bought a bowens grid/dish in its place.

The big problem was that the courier wouldn't leave the delivery on the porch as requested, so i had to drive several miles through a toll tunnel to collect the package from the depot. the courier said that this was Calumet's policy, not the courier's. Apart from the inconvenience, it added about £6.00 to the cost, so I'll probably use other suppliers when I can.

Purchased bowens lights and found them to be substandard and kept overheating when not being even used, just switched on! I was informed by Calumet that "they were aware of the problem but were not prepared to do anything". After threatening with court I finally received a refund. I have used Calumet for many years because the Milton Keynes trade counter is very convenient. I will however be very unlikely to ever use them again.

Even though the folks at customer service are very sympathetic, the delivery process was far from smooth. There was an issue with a missing invoice and delivery took weeks when it should have taken no longer than a couple of days.

Hi the UK dept is great, the US store in Manhattan is full of Know it alls with bad attitudes that treat you like your an idiot and dont know anything. Just so you know I went in there and their attitude was so bad I walked out went up the street to FotoCare where they treat you like a, ah Customer, gave all the technical Knowledge they had on the products and spent nearly £1000 pounds yes 'pounds' on eq for the studio. Now I do that at least once a month , on average, so you do the math. LIke I say the UK are great, NYC is rubbish . NB to the NYC guys , if they know so much , how come I'm the one being Paid to take pictures and they're being paid to stand in a store?

I phoned the order for two strip-boxes and grids through on a Friday. Told them I HAD to have it on Saturday as it was to enable me to complete a job on Monday, for which I had to leave at 5am. I was assured delivery on Saturday morning was not a problem. I double checked. The girl in Bristol phoned someone else and phoned me back to say Saturday delivery was assured, so I ordered. Damn things turned up on Tuesday. Left me screwed for the job I bought them for. Thanks very much. Very professional. Will think twice before using Calumet again - and I've spent c.£10k with you in the last 2 years.

Purchased a new Nikon D7100 from Calumet (Birmingham). All appeared to be okay until I had to shoot some low light shots of a band on stage. At least half of the shots were out of focus. I requested a replacement camera and I was asked to return the camera to the store to be checked. I also took the disk containing the photographs and the sales person used the Nikon software to check the images to find out where the focus points were. Most of them he couldn't explain. He said that it was just "the way the camera works". I have been a photographer for over 45 years and I know that there was something wrong. He refused to replace the camera so I requested a refund. That was refused. I had to threaten to stay in the store to try to get some response. I was told that I would be "physically removed" if I did not leave. After several phone calls he offered a replacement. By this time I had already had enough and nothing short of a refund would do. I was then told that they did not have enough cash in the store to give a refund, (pull the other one). In the end I had to accept a bank transfer the following day. I think that the whole affair could have been handled much better. I purchased a new camera from another "High Street retailer" and the camera works just fine..!

Recently, I used mail order to buy a roll of film from Calumet. It arrived in a timely manner in good condition. Prior to this, I bought from them a Fuji S5 and promptly lost a small fitting. Thinking that there had been a point in not buying from a box shifter, I sought assistance at the store from where I had purchased the camera. I was told that they were unable to help. So, I approached the importers who directed me to the Fuji website and I simply ordered the part which arrived promptly. Also, I used a credit card to buy a place on a Calumet lecture. The lecture was cancelled. I had to ask for my refund and when I checked my credit card statement, I found that I had been short changed by an amount that I assume was a service charge for using a credit card. The matter was not pursued. Unless there is a compelling reason to use Calumet, I keep on walking. Nick Wilkinson Tivium@hotmail.com

Roll was too long, Was wanting to send it back for shorted roll without expecting any cash back, item was still sealed and as it was when it was delivered, but they wanted me to pay for the return shipping even though they would have to ship the smaller roll anyway.

Here's my feedback: I'm sick of companies like you thinking its OK to send bulk emails without asking or inviting me to add my email address to your mailing list. SORT IT OUT.
