Didn't send me what I ordered but instead sent an entirely poorer quality product. Whilst I finally got a refund, customer services didn't return promised calls. The cost postage they incurred exceeded the cost of the product I purchased. Would I deal with them again? What do you think? Not worth the hassle.

I spent £10,000 on a lens at the NEC Photography Show. I was then advised that the lens was not in stock - even though this was the first morning of the show - and so it was to be delivered. The delivery company put an illegible hand-scribbled card through the door (despite the fact that someone was in the house at the time and despite the fact that the delivery company's delivery note attached to the package clearly stated that the company should phone me on the mobile number provided). On calling the delivery company's office using the number printed on the card I was advised that I should collect the package from a flat in a multi-occupied block someway up the street. I declined and after some exchange of views on the matter the delivery company collected the package and delivered it. I subsequently raised the issue with Calumet via the website and never received an acknowledgement or response. I've never had a problem with WEX and will use them exclusively in future.

We previously purchased some time ago Kenro Photo Refill Pages order no.TKP111to hold 6x4 photos. We found them very unsuccessful as theyfell out of the pockets. We are told by your Belfast store that you are still selling the same product and I am very surprised. Do you not have an alternative ?

Products were showing as out of stock at time of order, advised that date could not be obtained and item put on back order. Was charged immediately for goods which then took almost 4 months to be delivered - customer services could have been much better!

The second time I have ordered something that would never arrive. Both times I was assured a week till arrival. Only by ringing customer service numerous times did this become apparent. Basically no one was going to inform me that the item I had paid for was never going to arrive. Suppliers to blame both times. Refunds both times. There seems to be misinformation about stock availability in your system and this should be dealt with. I am a professional photographer and I am reluctant to use your services due to unreliability.

Your E-Mail failed to mention this review was for on line customer satisfaction but i will give my experience of both on line and shop ? I used to shop at Calumets Manchester branch or if it was out of stock at the shop I would order it from there. Unfortunately they let me down very badly leaving me no option but to go elsewhere at very short notice for a wedding album. I take my customer service very seriously If I tell a client I will have their very expensive unique wedding album in their hands by a certain date IT WILL BEE IN THERE ON TIME unfortunately Calumet don't. I expect to pay a premium for good service but to pay that and get no service is unforgivable so i no longer use the Calumet shop full stop. Also the shops Credit - Debit card readers don't work Iv'e been going their for some years but in all that time every time i come to pay theirs always an issue with the card reader so you give then another card Visa, Master, Debit it won't matter there will be a problem. you ask the manager why this always happens and its been doing so for years and she tells you no its never happened before ? So its me then i must be stupid then. even though the person thats serving you has told you that its always happening and how frustrating it is especially when there is a full shop. Well as you will be getting the picture by now sadly and I mean sadly because I much prefer a one to one experience I don't like being lied ( fobbed off ) to or being stuck in the shop each time for 30 40 minutes while the shop gets its act together. On their Web site I would say the site navigation is very poor but I notice that Its recently been improved but unfortunately the description given to products is quite poor. Details are not bad ( The manufacturers Quotations ) Accessories column is normally blank giving the customer a feeling of they can't be bothered and just want a sale. What's In the Box section is normally blank so how do you know what your actually getting. Review Section is always blank too. This is the biggest put off for me as it makes me think what are they hiding ? Well you did ask and I have taken the time to reply. Why, because I want a Great Shop I can rely on. At this time I can't see that happening and so will continue to shop elsewhere where you can rely on what they tell you, get great service, are listened to and have good and bad reviews on products and service freely available. And more!

Though I was informed of back orders when placing my on-line order I didn't expect it to come in 5 different consignments which must have cost you, two of which arrived on the same day and one one more the next. I assume you don't hold any stock! After 3 weeks and still waiting for 2 items I had to phone you up only to be told that these were still not in stock, so I arranged to have an alternative which arrived next day. great but still one thing missing after 4 weeks and I had to phone you again but to cancel this time. My question is, why should I be chasing you after spending over £1000.00 with you. If I took that long to supply my customers and didn't communicate with them I would have been out of business years ago. You asked! regards Mike 07889 765836

Unfortunately, I have been very disappointed on the two and only occasions that I have made a purchase from Calumet Photographic. Firstly I ordered Adobe Lightroom during a seminar at Calumet Manchester. This was out of stock. I made the arrangement with Calumet to pick up a disk at the London Drummond Street store the following week as I was on another seminar. When I got the disk box home, there was no disk inside and I was only given a display box. After many phone calls eventually got the software. My second disappointing experience was when I ordered my Canon 6D. I made the order as soon as Calumet announced the Canon 6D. The order was taking a long time to arrive with me. I called Calumet Drummond Street and a member of staff asked me if I had ordered the 60D as she did not know anything about Canon launching a 6D. When I eventually spoke to someone who knows about Cameras, Calumet was not receiving the stock from Canon at a time when Jessops already had the 6D in stock. I had to cancel my order with Calumet and give Jessops my £1799.00 for the Canon 6D. Talking about Seminars, I have been on quite a few of these at Calumet. Some of them are quite good but many are appauling. It really depends on the tutor. I can recommend Jayce Clarke but I will never again go on a Seminar with Richard Southall or Jason Harry. Finally and it is to no surprise to say that will never make another purchase with Calumet going on the awful experience that I have received. Luckily there are many other retailers wanting my money for camera equipment.

Visited the store to buy a new tripod and head. The Manager (Alan) spent time with me and was very helpful with advice enabling me to make an informed choice. A very positive and pleasant store experience as always.

Website The website really doesn't work. Wrong products classifications and several issues with the payment procedure. Also stock information are often false. Drummond Street Store Staff With few exceptions the staff have (Chris, James, Amanda) no idea of the products. They can manage an old lady searching a compact camere but for sure they can't manage professional photographer as customers. Drummond Street Rental Desk The rental desk offer a very good service. Drummond Street Store The store is good, but the habit of moving things really annoying me. I have for my business more then 1,8k of customers, photographer based in London, and the vast majority think the same. Also for the flagship store we aspect to have more samples of represented brands ( example Park Camera store - 550 yards away have less space but better exposition of many brands such Manfrotto, Gitzo, Lastolite, GoPro ) Calumet Brands Items, many items are often out of stock. As Calumet you must have your own products. Do not have in stock a product )many I can say) for months is a clear sign of incompetence. excuses about cinese production issues are just what they are excuses.... In september I had a list of 187 items to buy - all from Calumet - I still waiting for some of them to be available... IT infrastructure. Your men and women's at the desk still work with something from AS400 era. For them is difficult to have an access to online catalogue too because of your IT system. Look like very inadeguate. Is it so difficult give to them an iMac or an iPad or both and develop on it a specific application for the job. I have done it for my business in few weeks. Direct Photo have done it.Pro Centre too, Flash Centre idem. remove the dust from the computers and your brains. Customer Service for collect in store...... First the man on the phone must speak English, if not a Queen English for sure not a Bengali dialect or such similar idioma. You must suppose to have international customers not familiar with it. Second point when you advice by mail customers that they have to collect items in store, please don't say your order is ready when you had only one of eleven items ready. You manage the time as employee we - costumers - manage our time in a very different way it is a question of respect. Many thanks and regards

They charged it up for me at the shop fine but it doesn't charge on my Nikon charger. However, my other Nikon battery charges fine. I need to take it back so I can get the Nikon brand battery.

I have purchased a great deal of equipment from calumet, most of this was delivered on time and in good condition however I did order some studio lights in April 2013 I was told the lights I had ordered were discontinued so would I mind waiting a couple of months for the new line to come in, not a problem I thought , so here we are nine months later. If I had not phoned calumet on a monthly basis I'm sure there would have been no contact from them, In the beginning I was told next month then the next month, a few months in I was up graded to the next model of lights, fair play to calumet on that one, trouble is thats no good to me if I don't have them. So many phone calls later still no lights , no managers to talk to according to the sales team. The last update when I phoned in December was the product was in the warehouse but was being tested due for delivery first two weeks of January. So here we are then calumet no contact no lights whats going on ?

My lens was delivered on a friday afternoon in a battered box. The plastic sleeve wrapping the lens was also crumpled and creased – it clearly wasn't factory fresh. The lens itself was full of condensation. Rang to complain straight away and was told the customer services manager would call me back. Two hours later I rang again as I hadn't heard anything. Was once more promised he would call me back. He never did. Weekend closure of customer services meant I couldn't call again until Monday. Initially I'd decided to cancel the replacement order but subsequently changed my mind. I was promised a new lens would be delivered and the old one collected the following day. The original lens was duly collected Tuesday afternoon. However, by 5:00pm there was still no sign of my replacement. I called customer services to chase and was told they'd investigate and call me straight back. Didn't hear anything so called back just after 5.30 only to find out customer services were closed! Overall I think the standard of service has been absolutely appalling. Have wasted an awful lot of time, and probably money given your 0870 telephone number, chasing this issue. I will certainly think twice about ordering anything from Calumet again.
