Salesman Gavin was brilliant handover team terrible. Bought a car with 1000 more miles on the clock than what it said it had. Also had a slow puncture and one tyre with only 9psi off air in it. Also had lots off sticky bits on the driver and passengers driver side door where stickers of the deal had been on it and not took off properly.

Where do I start! Test drove & purchased used Nissan Note Acenta on 15/06/18. Don’t know what car the salesperson described during the test drive but it sure wasn’t the one i got. Was told car had automated wipers.....oh no it doesn’t. Was told car had refrigerated glove box.....oh no it hasn’t. Minor, irritating little things but don’t understand why he would exaggerate a car spec - either that or he didn’t know the car’s spec. Another not so minor issue. Day 1 after collection, parked up the car only to find one of the 2 keys supplied didn’t work - and rather embarrassingly set off the car’s alarm. Straight on to the Carstore and was told to bring the key back for testing. Back to the Carstore who confirmed the key was faulty & a new one would be ordered and I would be called in a few days to bring the car in for the key to be coded. No call. Emailed - twice, still no call. Phoned again 29/06/18 to be told they had no record of it and to bring the car back down. Went down again! Told “Tom, who deals with keys, is off on holiday” but that “he would have to send an email to ‘the key people’ and they would call me to arrange a replacement key and coding”. I was assured if I didn’t get a call from ‘the key people’ i’d get a call from ‘Tom’. 2 weeks later and still no call - from anyone. Have now written a letter of complaint to Peter Vardy head office as have given up on Hillington Carstore sorting this.

My issues are fourfold: a) After purchasing a car on a Saturday, I received a call on the following Friday telling me I needed to collect the car the very next day in order for Peter Vardy's month-end figures to be met. No one had told me this requirement, and this caused a lot of stress for me as I was moving house on the Saturday. I felt pressured by the sales rep to rearrange my plans and collect the car during my scheduled house move. In hindsight, would the sale have been cancelled if I had been unable to collect the car? Or was this request more about meeting internal sales targets that serving me as the customer? b) when I collected the car on the Saturday, I could see that it still had stains on the seats, and scratches on the exterior. The job checklist on the dashboard clearly showed that the exterior and seats had been marked checked and done, yet visibly weren't. As you can imagine, this lowered my confidence somewhat in the standard of the service I was receiving. c) in the ten days that we've had the car (which we do enjoy and feel it is the right car for us), we've discovered new issues - a loose handbrake, rear window washer that doesn't work, and interior lighting that doesn't come on. This, again, erodes my confidence in the quality of the service and valeting checks that were done before the car was passed over to me. d) despite being aware of the issues via an email from the initial sales rep who I dealt with, and my conversations with the handover team member I worked with on the Saturday, I did not receive any call from an aftersales team member or manager to rectify my concerns or arrange a time to bring the car back for the needed corrective work. I had to phone myself to move this forward, which is really disappointing for me. In summary, the service I received in the showroom on the first Saturday was brilliant - five star. However, further interactions with Peter Vardy from the Friday phone call after, and onwards, have only dented the great first impression I had and eroded my confidence in the customer service and care. I know this isn't the desired ethos of the organisation, which is why it is truly disappointing.

Sorry not for me! Went to see a particular car and was left hanging around for nearly half an hour and then told the car had not yet arrived and the guy walked off. Full of kids and noise. Big mistake by me not to be repeated.

Tried to fob me off with an Audi which was full of scratches, dirty and smelly. Failed to match their supposed offer. Failed to communicate true costs. Failed to find suitable car. Failed to communicate at all levels. Failed to satisfy and failed to deliver. I am really disappointed with PV level of service.

What an awful experience from this company, will never buy a car from them ever again. Took over 3 weeks to get my car, when I finally got it handed over to me it was full of scratches, marks and didn't have the spec that I was told it would have at sales. Car was in 2 weeks later getting sorted. Lack of communication after you buy the car from them, they never call you back, you spend every day calling them. Typical gobbie car salesman attitude from Managers like Jamie Reid, promises you the world then does nothing about it. Total let down, so disappointed with my first Peter Vardy experience and last.

Got a call to pick car up got all the way home to realise car was still dirty also had a chip on windscreen and scratches all over, also had rust on roof, no service book with car which issues a problem if ever doing resale. Phoned up complained got date to take car in an get everything fixed about a week later from putting car in got call to pick up, when arrived at peter vardy for my car realsied that only one side of car was done and chip on windscreen was fixed car was still dirty inside scrathes still remained even tho got told full car had been sprayed and valeted also splashes of a darker colour grey had been splashed on car, so now its a waiting game again to see how long it takes use this time to fix. We got told so many Different things about “free gifts”. We had to wait over 3 weeks for car to be ready, when told it would be 5 days. More than 4 thousand more miles on the clock than first said to us. Paintwork all chipped when hey said it would all be fixed. They didn’t care. Horrendous service.

I booked a test drive in a Peugeot Partner Tepee for Saturday the 14th of April at your Hillington Car Store. When my wife and I arrived at your showroom we were met by Craig a very friendly young man who arranged for the vehicle to be brought to a viewing area unfortunately we were not offered a test drive which I suspect was due to an engine management problem. Craig went on to tell us about the multi-checking system that the vehicle would have done to it and the 2 problems that I pointed out would be fixed. The first problem I noticed was that the retaining clip for the bonnet stay was broken and the arm falling down beside moving parts of the engine, the second observation was the rust along the edge of the tailgate. Both of these issues were as Craig put it minor and would be fixed before we picked the vehicle up. On that Day we paid a deposit and were told that we would be contacted by the handover team during the following week. On the Wednesday a girl called Andi called me to say that my car would be ready at 4pm on the Friday the 20th of April, I mentioned that the 4pm slot was not the best time for me and suggested an earlier time or maybe the Saturday, unfortunately Andi didn't get back to me and when I called on the Friday to make sure the vehicle was ready she told me that I had agreed the Saturday appointment. On the Saturday again I called to be told that there was a problem with the car now and I wouldn't be able to pick the car up due to an engine management light suggesting a problem with the Diesel Particulate Filter and after speaking to Alan in the service department agreed to await a call from your team on the Monday. At 5pm on Monday I had to call to find out what was going on as by this time I had made a payment by bank transfer for this car. I was then told that it would be the Wednesday for picking up the car. Once again I re-arranged work to suit travelling from Bathgate to Hillington to pick up the car and had to call again only to be told at the 11th hour that the car was still not repaired and was having to be sent to a Peugeot Dealer to have this fault diagnosed.I was then promised that the car would be ready to pick up on the Friday at 11am so I made my way to Hillington and at 10.40 sat down with a nice young girl to finish the paperwork, this was completed at around 11.10 and I was told that my car would be with me directly. Time ticked by and after asking about 3 times what the holdup was and each time being told my car would be with me directly a gentleman called George came to speak to me at just after 1pm and explained my car was not ready and I would not be able to get my car on that day. I was now faced with trying to get from Hillington to Bathgate by public transport, George arranged for a driver to take me to the train station and after about an hour and half I arrived home with no car. Later that day I was called to to be advised that the car was now ready and I arranged to pick the car up on the Saturday morning. My wife and I had to travel to Hillington by public transport and on arriving at the car showroom we were taken to the handover area to see the car with a purple cover over the vehicle which was removed by the hand over girl. I then had a look at the car to find that the rust along the tailgate had not been repaired and the bonnet stay clip had had a botched repair that didn't work. Someone had actually glued a different type of clip which must have taken a bit of time in order to save the cost of the proper clip which costs 14p. The car had supposedly been valeted however with some embarrassment the young girl who was handing the vehicle over had to agree that the standard of the car was less than satisfactory. George was called and he eventually put a plastic zip tie on to hold the arm away from moving parts of the engine, he then said that he would call me the following week to pick the car up from Bathgate and have the paintwork and bonnet clip repaired well surprise surprise it's now a week later and no call. I have had a £50 valet done to the car and it is now very clean and presentable. Buying a car should be a pleasant experience however my experience of the Peter Vardy car sales is just like the large number of customer leaving reviews on Trust Pilot. You can be assured that as car dealer you have sold me your first and last car. Very disappointed with the the whole experience and the false promises by your team. Donald Firth SJ61OXW

Exceptionally poor communication from the moment I had signed my contract agreement. I constantly had to phone the company to get an update or just any idea what was going on. Phoned over and over and no one was ever available. I left messages with reception and no one got back to me. The only way I got any answers was going into the branch myself. Waited 4 weeks for a car when I was told it would be there in 3 days. Waited 3 and a half hours when picking up the car as it was not ready.

The sale itself was perfect. The aftercare and handover was terrible. I had been told by the salesperson that I was provisionally booked in to collect the car in 4 working days at 12noon. Not hearing anything to the contrary I attended at the booked time to find car was not ready. I ended up spending 3 hours in the carstore waiting on my car when i had been told it would take 45 mins. The paint touchups i identified had not even been done, and to top it all off the car key was then faulty. Terrible service from the company overall. Nicole from the handover team and Sean McIntyre in sales and Caroline in the van were great despite everything else not going to plan. Nicole said she would handover the issues to her colleagues. Sean phoned to further apologise and said someone would call to arrange fixing. 3 days later still no call from petervardy. I have to now wait a further 2 weeks to get the paint touchups done after phoning myself today to arrange. It completely diminished the feel his factor you should get when buying a showroom nearly used car and is far short of the service I expected

Shocking service from Peter Vardy. Went to collect car on handover day and they expected me to accept it with numerous chips, scratches and a missing wheel arch! Delivered it out to me 2 days later with a still missing wheel arch and a botched paint job! 3 weeks later I still haven't had it fixed, can't get anyone to follow through promises or even a call back! Avoid Peter Vardy, they take your money and their aftercare does not seem to exist!

The car advertised on autotrader by peter vardy wasn’t the car that was in the showroom, the salemans never kept to his word and didn’t phone me back once despite many attempts to call through, I was constantly chasing for updates on the private reg issue. The finance and figures were not explained properly which came as a surprise when collecting the vehicle, the woman from the handover team would be the only person that would get pass marks

Every staff member was interested and friendly when looking to buy a vehicle however i found as soon as purchase was finalised that not everyone was as friendly. The only one person who was helpful was the 1 salesman Connor.

COMPLETELY SHOCKING EXPERIENCE. MY CAR WAS DELIVERED TO ME WITHOUT ANY SORT OF SERVICE CHECKS, WAS NOT CLEANED, DID NOT FOLLOW UP ON THE SCRATCHES PN THE BACK OF THE CAR AND ALLOYS. BUT WHAT DISCUSSED ME MORE WAS IT HAD SEVERAL CIGARETTE BURNS IN IT WHICH WERE NOT PRESENT WHEN I BOUGHT IT. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE. I HAVE MADE OVER 100 PHONE CALLS. PROMISED TO GET REPLIES. PASSED FROM MANAGER TO MANAGER. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO GET MY MONEY BACK AND WAS TOLD THIS IS NOT AN OPTION AS I DID NOT TAKE FINANCE OUT ON IT. WAS PROMISED THE ISSUES WOULD BE RESOLVED AND THE CAR WAS RETURNED WITH THE SCRATCHES STILL ON IT, STILL NOT VALETED PROPERY, STILL CIGARETTE BURNS ON IT. YOUS HAVE TOOK ANY JOY I HAD HOPED IN HAVING MY FIRST CAR, WASTED MY HAPPINESS IN PASSING MY THOERY TEST AND MY BIRTHDAY AS I WAS TRYING TO GET THIS SORTED AND ARGUEING ON THE PHONE. I REALLY WISHED I HAD WENT ELSEWHERE. I HAVE READ THE REVIEWS AND IT SEEMS NEARLY EVERY ONE IS SIMILAR. YOU TOOK OVER £9000 FROM ME AND NEVER DELIVERED YOUR PEOMISES. I AM NOW CONSIDERING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST YOU. SO BE WARNED. I WILL DO MY UPMOST TO DETER ANYBODY BUYING A CAR FROM YOU. YOUR COMPANY IS NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF COWBOYS

Possibly the worst car buying experience I have ever had. From miss-information at the start and failure to even get the price and finance the same on two consecutive offers depending on which members of staff we had. The after sales team are very poor, we eventually got the paperwork in place and picked the car up (various parts missing, but agreement to order, contact us then replace). By the time my wife got the car home, engine warning light and white smoke. Immediately phoned and told some would be in touch the following day! Two weeks later and I am still to get that call!! I have taken the car to a Vauxhall dealer and it would appear the adBlue system has a fault! I asked what the adBlue system was as no one told me about it when I bought the car!! The Vauxhall mechanic should me evidence of a very recent top up!!! Still no phone call from the Car Store. I eventually phoned them trying to get my other parts only to be passed from pillar to post trying to speak to someone who could help. Parts picked up now! Car still has defect, waiting for Vauxhall to get in touch. Needless to say left feeling very disappointed with the car store and feel as soon as they got my money they could not care less! Will not be back and will not recommend!

The sales man Sean gets 5 stars he was great and is the only one who is of any use. The car was ment to be ready at 9am but by 3pm our pickup time the car hadn't seen the work shop yet so we had to wait a further 3 and a half hours. After taking the car home I have noticed a list of faults with it including being sold with a broken key and 2 faulty/dangerous tyres. Every time I call up to report another fault with the car I am left on hold then hung up on. I expected better from Peter vardy but it seems use are worse than Arnold. Once again our sales man Sean was outstanding he is the only one who has helped us in any way. I would recommend Sean to anyone looking for a decent sales man he's the one who gets the 5 stars.

Very little was right. I would never recommend this company to anyone. You will be hearing a lot more from me regarding the way you conduct your business. I have been buying cars for more than 50 years and this is the first time I have met such unprofessionalism.
