Early morning flight and so only wanted a bit of peace and quiet to check on some work emails before I travelled. Welcome was friendly and was shown the facilities. Obviously you can't chose who you share a lounge with but there were two parties (one male at one ond of the lounge and one female at the other) who were very much intent on using as much of the free alcohol as possible, so much so that the place was littered with empty beer bottles and the attendant spent most of the time running back and forwards to re-stock the fridge rather than the breakfast cereal, fruit juice and snacks. The two parties eventually merged into one large rowdy noisy group with a trail of spilled beer and bottles behind them and proceeded to do video selfies of themselves at high volume. I left and joined the normal airport lounge area for some peace and quiet. Perhaps some kind of security would prevent other travellers suffering from the same experience

(Manchester Terminal 2 Airport Lounge) - Posted 10 years ago
I visited the one on the other terminal at Manchester the previous year, which we found much more comfortable than this one. The tables were not cleared quickly enough, and when I asked the counter staff they just said that a trolley would be comming at intervals. She wasn't serving anyone at the time, and the tables could have been cleaned! Yes, drinks are included, yes there are nibbles, but the rooms were so crowded and hardly space to sit. It was obviously a peak time, but as we paid for the privalige of a more "relaxing" environment, I do think more care should be taken with the number of bookings taken. It just felt as though as many cattle as possible were being pushed into the pen, and I shall be thinking twice about booking this again!!

There was limited amount of snacks avalible. No bacon avalible even though it was 5am, no serving staff on the service area. The ladies on reception first class meet and greet, the area was good great view. We wouldn't choose to use the lounge early in the morning, unless all the above were changed.

The lounge was very busy when I was there and there was a shortage of seats. They also seemed to runout of certain drinks and ice. I am afraid that it was not the restful experience that you get at the airport lounge at terminal one.

When we arrived at the lounge we had a long wait to actually enter for no apparent reason, then once we had got into the lounge we decided to had a bite to eat (Sandwiches) of which there were none out and we waited 30 minutes plus until they came out, obviously there were a lot of people waiting so they didnt go very far, i then decided i would enjoy a beer of which was cold, overall not the best start to our holiday! I did email the customer services and never got a reply. regards Keiran

The lounge was crowded with too many people. The odd chair was available, but unfortunately no groups of chairs, this is disappointing when you have family with you. The choice of drinks was limited and Guinness and beers was not available. Additionally please note that there was no ice for the drinks, we repeatedly asked but the staff said they could not procure any. Cheap unbranded whisky was offered, I declined the offer because there was no quality in what was on offer, although a proper whisky would have been welcomed. I am sorry to inform you but the executive suite did not appear 'executive', it resembled a cafe. The staff worked hard to replace the foods, but snacks was thin on the ground. There was no hot food in terms of bacon sandwiches or anything else. There was no danish pastries. Needless to say I was disappointed and my guests was asking what it is they had actually paid for. There was lots of salted nuts ! I am sorry to report my findings, but dare I say it you need to improve the executive suite on offer to IOD members, what is offered was poor. The staff appeared over worked and stressed. This is not the environment anybody wants to experience before travelling. Good luck with the above. Paul Hunter.

It was very small, food was in short supply and what was there was awful. I will not be using this facility again. There were too many people using it at one time, it seemed that you take people's money and cram as many in as possible. I paid for it as a treat for my sister's birthday as we were going on holiday. She was very disappointed. We ended up going to one of the restaurants in the departure lounge to have something to eat before we boarded.

I stayed in an airport lounge at Heathrow which was much better.I felt the lounge was just being used by people wanting to drink as much as possible. The ambience was no nice, certainly would not stay in this lounge again. I have travelled from Manchester for over 8 years and not used the lounge this was a treat a bit disappointed

We booked into the lounge for a relaxing start to our holdiay to USA. We were very disappointed as it was quite untidy, the only hot food offering - bacon rolls were ok but only appeared in small batches which were quickly taken by other users. The hot selection did not include a vegetarian option which my daugther needed. Croissants were cold, hard and prepacked. I wouldn't bother booking in again as there were plenty of seats and food outlets in the airport that looked far more relaxing and appealing with a better selection of food.

Not a particularly great place to wait for a flight. Absolutely jam packed full of people just in there to pre load their alcohol streams before a trip to Majorca. Loud, hot, no catering and nobody shepherding or controlling louts. I was torn between poor and very poor, however as it was free booze I should have known the type of people that it would attract so in some ways I blame myself.

The choice of snacks and drinks available was poor compared to previous visits. The lounge used to provide small cans of orange, coke etc but now they just have large bottles which are flat

During our visit the lounge was quite full not only with adult travellers but also families with young children. This in itself is not a problem providing that the children are well behaved and not running around the lounge making noise which is what happened in our case. Obviously the parents were responsible but the lounge staff did not seem to want to intervene and didn't take any action. In my opinion the idea of using an 'Executive' lounge is to start your holiday with a quiet, relaxing time before your flight. In addition, the availability of unlimited alcohol was abused by several passengers who were downing spirits at 8 in the morning as if they were on a night on the town. This resulted in them being noisy and rowdy, trying to draw my wife and I into conversations which we were not interested in and having to seek alternative seats in order to gain some peace. I am not a prude or kill-joy and wouldn't want to see families prevented from using the lounge nor for alcohol to be unavailable. However, I think that staff should be firmer with any noisy or inappropriate behaviour and the amount of alcohol available per passenger limited. I could have saved myself £40.00 and sat on the main concourse which would probably have been less stressful.

Not value for money, snack choice very poor lots of Items has run out, overall tidiness below average, service poor, staff seemed to be multitasking and stretched, will look for alternate choice on next visit.
