Absolutely poor, its worth paying more to get better service. One member of staff told me that I couldn't cancel my renewal within 14 days as "they don't offer that service"... ITS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT!!!! Staff don't log your calls so they don't record that you have called to cancel your policy, secondly there is no means of contacting them other than by phone so if your phone is out, you are screwed. Appalling and my wife used to work in insurance so knows all their dirty tricks

Where do we begin! With them for 2 years....when the renewal was due for the 3rd year I changed my car (lease vehicle as before). I was told that they could not renew as they do not insure lease vehicles and it was a good job I had not had an accident I would not have been insured....this is scary stuff!!! As I wasn't insured I wonder if I am due a refund on the premiums I paid.....I'll keep you posted

I took out car insurance in feb of this year, told them I had 2 years no claims discount and was told I didn't have to send proof as it was on the cue database.I bought a new car 9 months later November this year, rang them to change car details and was told that the premium had gone up,so agreed the pay the difference and let the policy run out in February only 3 more payments. Then got a letter at the end of November saying they were cancelling my policy because I had not sent them proof of my no claims even though it was still on cue database that I had 2 years, then was charged £75 for the cancellation. Went to another company and did not have to prove my no claims as on cue to.Was told different things by buget and they offered me a new 12 month policy but at 3 times the price of my new company.Buget car insurance is rubbish and just cconmen.Dont buy from them.

Worst company ever told doubled my premium after the first month as they say a previously insured non fault claims had been updated to fault I have sent them documents confirming I am not at fault they eventually admit I'm right but then they make other adjustments to my details which again are incorrect. I notified them again and now they won't put back to original price. Like on a review lower down

I booked a policy online from a comparison website and didn't realize until they posted details of my policy that somehow the address was wrong. I phoned them straight away (well as straight away as their call centre would allow!) and was told that it would cost me £80 to change to the correct address. I decided to cancel instead, as the policy was only 10 minutes old and legally I have 14 days cooling off period. Well, to cancel a 10 minute old policy that was to start in the future cost me £38. When I suggested I cancel the payment at the bank, they threatened the Bailiffs. Avoid these rip off merchants at all cost and ignore the obviously made up positive reviews on their website. I'll never go near them again.

Absolutely disgusted with these cowboys, worst thing I ever done was take car insurance with this lot. I entered the wrong date for an accident I had in 2012, they then found the correct date and then adjusted my policy for two accidents, doubling my premium at the same time. I informed them of the simple mistake but had to get confirmation from admiral insurance of the one accident. I done this but now they have not received emails, letters and just about made about every excuse not to adjust my policy back to the one accident. As I said leave well alone they may be cheap but theres the reason why.

Same issue as another poster below...When I phoned to cancel my home insurance, I was told I'd be owed £10. But now I have received an email to say I owe them £88. I will never use Budget Insurance ever again, and will also advise others against it. Furthermore, if you allow your insurance to be automatically renewed, the cost will increase significantly year on year. If I had continued with Budget, I would have been paying nearly three times more than with the company I am with now. Clearly Budget Insurance does not reward customers for staying with them!

Cancelled my policy after 1 year. As renewal was over £700 more than my cheapest quote They have now called me saying that there is no record of me cancelling and want to charge me over £200. Customer advisor on the phone was just plane rude. Disgusting service.

I took out a comprehensive insure policy with Budget on the 1st of June 2016. On the 29th of June I was stopped by the police in South London for having no insurance. I was arrested, and my vehicle impounded. why? - Although the policy was correct the person from Budget entered my details onto the MID (motor insurance database) incorrectly, they keyed in the letter J instead of G, rendering my vehicle uninsured. I contacted budget asking them to put it right, which they say they did, and charged me £213 for the privilege of amending their mistake. On the 27th July I was stopped again by police, and 'stuck on' for having no insurance. Despite having charged me a huge administration fee, they still hadn't bothered to put things right. I am now awaiting a court summons where I could receive a £1000 fine, 6 penalty points added to my licence, and a criminal record, all due to Budget's competence.

Automatic renewal - costing £100 more than alternative companies then they deduct £38 when they refund. Takes threatening calls to get money returned. Never again and certainly never use automatic renewal - beware - awful company - they certainly will never ever get any more of my money.

Appalling customer service. Extremely rude and unhelpful. It wouldn't be so bad if they were cheap but their renewal quote was over 4 times what other insurers were offering me. Disgusted.

Tried to cancel my Insurance after 11 months and 2 weeks and these thieves wanted to charge me £49.00 for the privalage, and thier customer service(well all of BISL) is the worst customer service in the known galaxy, I think when they Interview, they teach thier staff to be agressive and rude, I hope the Director Mark Towensend has to deal with them over the phone one day and then he will realise what a Crummy Company he has spawned from his Groin.

Avoid this company They auto-renewed my premium although I don't recall authorising this. I then got a threatening letter saying my payment had been declined (this was because the card had expired) and that I would be charged £25 failed payment fee. Also if I don't respond by 24 June they would charge a cancellation fee of £40 plus any outstanding premium. I don't want to deal with company that treats its customers like this and decided not to renew. I phoned to tell them and got the runaround for about 15 mins and a threat to call in debt collectors, after which I put the phone down in disgust.

Do not touch this company . They took £144.41 from my account for a policy I do not have then refused to refund it . I have other policies with the company which I will not renew . It seems that they take your money and run customer services is the worst I've ever dealt with small claims court looks the way out They should be banned from trading .DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY .

Do not use this company, like many others who have left reviews on this site they automatically renewed my insurance, when I cancelled it they demanded proof I had alternative insurance. When I provided this they still referred me to debt collection and doubled the amount for a service I didn't receive or request. You can never get hold of anyone to discuss the issue I am relieved I wasn't making a claim if they are this incompetent with direct debits I dread to think what their response would be in a crisis. Stay well away....

This insurance provider renewed my insurance policy with them and charged my debit card despite having rung ahead of renewaL to terminate the policy, to which they agreed but faiIed to do. The first thing I knew was when the charge appeared on my bank statement. They then tried to insist I had to provide details of my new insurer before they could make the refund. They are also very expensive. I will not deal with them again

this company is disgusting , i took out a policy online , but never signed the agreement nor did i sign the so called credit agreement as i still have it in my draw , i only remembered when i came to clearing out my draws and found all my information , i logged on to the online account and cancelled the so called agreement. a few days later this sham of a company send me a letter saying they want £77 cancellation fee . i called the company and spoke to Joseph, who decided to keep me on hold for well over 20 mins , so i hung up and spoke to another person called Kieron , seemed helpful , and got me a manager (Richard spencer), who advised me infact i did sign the agreement and also accepted there extremely hard to understand T&C'S , he then proceeded to ask why i had only just decided to call , when i explained my reasons behind why i hadn't contacted them sooner due to illness and a bereavement , he then advised well there is nothing i can do , i asked them to either send me a signed agreement where i have signed or a DB mandate all of which this fraudulent company do not have , and yet they think they are perfectly within there rights to take my money , i have advised them i want a closure letter and i will take it up with the ombudsman , who have already agreed i will get my money back .

I took out a policy online but called to check details and to insist I didn't want it renewing automatically. Twelve months later it did renew but I allowed it to continue as I'd be ill. This year they sent me a copy of the policy for this year and it had gone up three fold. I called and cancelled and was told I'd have to pay £45 cancellation fee. I explained I'd opted out and the lady said they would listen to my call stating this and be back I touch. I never heard anything more of this just now demands for £86.24 for further cover and cancellation fees. Now they are threatening debt collectors. I've phoned again today and surprise they say they have no opt out policy. BEWARE, it may be cheap at first but you will get caught with this fee when you want to cancel. Budget by name, budget by nature. Go to a more reputable firm. Save money and stress
