Do not use this company, like many others who have left reviews on this site they automatically renewed my insurance, when I cancelled it they demanded proof I had alternative insurance. When I provided this they still referred me to debt collection and doubled the amount for a service I didn't receive or request. You can never get hold of anyone to discuss the issue I am relieved I wasn't making a claim if they are this incompetent with direct debits I dread to think what their response would be in a crisis. Stay well away....

This insurance provider renewed my insurance policy with them and charged my debit card despite having rung ahead of renewaL to terminate the policy, to which they agreed but faiIed to do. The first thing I knew was when the charge appeared on my bank statement. They then tried to insist I had to provide details of my new insurer before they could make the refund. They are also very expensive. I will not deal with them again

this company is disgusting , i took out a policy online , but never signed the agreement nor did i sign the so called credit agreement as i still have it in my draw , i only remembered when i came to clearing out my draws and found all my information , i logged on to the online account and cancelled the so called agreement. a few days later this sham of a company send me a letter saying they want £77 cancellation fee . i called the company and spoke to Joseph, who decided to keep me on hold for well over 20 mins , so i hung up and spoke to another person called Kieron , seemed helpful , and got me a manager (Richard spencer), who advised me infact i did sign the agreement and also accepted there extremely hard to understand T&C'S , he then proceeded to ask why i had only just decided to call , when i explained my reasons behind why i hadn't contacted them sooner due to illness and a bereavement , he then advised well there is nothing i can do , i asked them to either send me a signed agreement where i have signed or a DB mandate all of which this fraudulent company do not have , and yet they think they are perfectly within there rights to take my money , i have advised them i want a closure letter and i will take it up with the ombudsman , who have already agreed i will get my money back .

I took out a policy online but called to check details and to insist I didn't want it renewing automatically. Twelve months later it did renew but I allowed it to continue as I'd be ill. This year they sent me a copy of the policy for this year and it had gone up three fold. I called and cancelled and was told I'd have to pay £45 cancellation fee. I explained I'd opted out and the lady said they would listen to my call stating this and be back I touch. I never heard anything more of this just now demands for £86.24 for further cover and cancellation fees. Now they are threatening debt collectors. I've phoned again today and surprise they say they have no opt out policy. BEWARE, it may be cheap at first but you will get caught with this fee when you want to cancel. Budget by name, budget by nature. Go to a more reputable firm. Save money and stress

Strongly advise anyone who is thinking of using this car insurance company not to use them. They do not stand by the policies they provide you with when you have an accident , nor do they give you a proper explanation to any of you question or queries. They have caused me nothing but upset and distress leaving me to deal with cost by myself and prosecuting the third party alone. Resulting in me placing a complaint with the financial ombudsman.

I had to pay an electrician to come out to look at my lights as they were flickering g he then went to the fuse box and told me that it had to be condemned as it was nearly on fire.I rang this company and basically told me that I was insured for fire etc, so because I didn't have a fire that I wasn't covered. Should have I left the house burn down before I claim. Poor poor nose I will have to pay out of my own pocket to have a new fuse box what's the point of having insduramcr when I masks a genuine claim I will not be renewing with thses once my policy is up.

Was sent a letter dated the 17th April advising that my home insurance would automatically renew on the 18th April. By the time I received and opened the letter (post often gets mistakenly sent upstairs) it was too late as the policy had already renewed. So for the privilege of just cancelling the renewal (even though it was within the 14 day cooling off period) I have to pay an admin fee of £35! If they'd have let me know sooner, I'd have prevented the renewal and saved on the ridiculous fee for "admin" that took 2 minutes tops. Avoid!

Policy number: 125642053 After I took a policy with Budget and paid a deposit after that I have received impolite email threatening to provide my NCD by certain day or my policy will be canceled, I had 2 years NCD in 2015 and I have gained another year with my previous insurer before I move to Budget but I had a problem with my previous insurer when I called them to send me my entitlement for 3 year they said that I did not supply my other 2 years when I took the policy therefore they can only provide 1 year and I combine it with the other 2 years and send it to Budget, anyway I did call budget insurance and I did sent them my 3 years NCD combined after a long conversation over the phone they accepted it and I've received an email confirming that. After few day I have received another email threat of cancelling my policy or my premium goes up by 50% and I had to call them again staying on the phone for another 40 min at the end they said they won't accept my 3 years NCD but only 1 year and my premium went up by 50%!! So I have been affected by 2 recent insurance companies and I think both were Budget insurance as my last year's certificate had "Dial Direct" on one side and "Budget insurance" on another side of the page. o NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!

Absolutely horrendous experience. Insurance is easy enough to set up. No claims, so cannot comment on this process. Their sharp automatic renewal practice, however is a different story. Their renewal amount was nearly double other quotes, so not in the least competitive. I rang to cancel. They failed to a) record this call and b) access my account, so they insist I did not call, and renewed my policy. Unfortunately for them, they were unable to take funds. So they are now trying to charge me a small amount (just under £10) for the period I was 'insured' and a whopping £70 cancellation fee. Good luck with that. Upon speaking to them, one advisor confirmed there was a record of my call and that he would request the recording because the note said I was checking other quotes and would call back to confirm cancellation (?!), but I never did. Umm... Anyway, they now deny this and claim the advisor made a mistake. They insist it is impossible I called and state I am confusing insurance companies. Not condescending in the least. They are able to cancel all outstanding debt if I can prove that I had another policy in place providing continuous cover, and will pass the policy numbers. They refuse to do this if the cover was not continuous. I have declined to pay them, and formally requested they mark what they consider an outstanding balance as DISPUTED. They have declined to do that and have passed it on to CARS, their debt collectors. Presumably CARS will chase this debt aggressively, using bullying tactics, causing no end of inconvenience and anxiety. All because Budget have somehow lost record of my call.

Horrendous. Insured for a year, easy process and reasonable cost. No issues, no claims. Came to the renewal, and it's almost double other insurers. Rang and cancelled. Got policy documents anyway, though thankfully they couldn't take payment due to expired card details. As they weren't able to take payment, I did nothing. Sure enough, cancellation notice arrived, but they now want to charge me £70-odd for the period u was insured, and a cancellation fee. Haha haha!!! No. Absolute cowboys. Avoid.

I took car insurance with them and was happy with the price. However I moved address and they informed me that the company who underwrite my policy would not insure me at my new address and this means I would have to start a new policy with them but underwrite by another company. This meant my premium went up over £800 pounds which I was not happy with, but I was informed that I had no choice but to enter into this new policy with them or pay a cancellation fee. I chose to pay the cancellation fee because to be honest I felt that I had been mislead. I moved up the road from where I use to live. So why this happened made no sense and to try to make me take a new policy which has increased by £800 pounds is unbelievable. Then things got wrost so I ask to cancel and paid the cancellation fee and rang the company on 4 separate occasions to check that everything was paid and was reassured that I had no out standing balance left. So I got on with my life and then 1 week later I checked my spam box and found a email from budget insurance stating I owed a balance of £63.17 plus £25 pounds. And if I don't get intouch they would pass me on to debt collectors. I think this is terrible I rang them four times to ask if there was any outstanding balance on the account and was informed there was not so really what can i do. Then to be threaten with a email that I owe money and they will pass it on to debt collectors is disguesting and very poor customer service. I never recieved any letter or phone call about the matter just an email which want to my spam box and I only checked this box by accident. When I called to complain the supervisor want on to justify why really it was not their fualt but mine. I ask you really I tried to and checked the account was paid in fall and they told me no outstanfing balance was left. I think this company is very poor and so is it customer service. I never use them again I don't care how cheap they are!

Have just got off the phone after finding they have taken £240.00 from my account, over the last 5 years, for a personal accident policy they have little details of and was at an address I have not lived at for 6 years. Their excuse I had not cancelled the policy, to this excuse I replied, why would I have a policy at an address I don't live at. Yes I'm at failed for not respond to money being taken from my account quicker. But if you take out a policy and the company don't hear from you, then is it morally right that they just assume you still require their service. So be aware of all details you give, or any dealings with this company.

Went into my account and took out £50.00 on the pretext of a loophole in my application for vehicle insurance, wish I had seen this site before as it seems from the reviews that this is not an isolated incident. think twice before leaving your card details with this company.

Automatic renewal of my home insurance - BEWARE - Charged me £38 for them setting it up and taking payment on an expired Credit Card. Took me months to get my premium back (less the £38) had to get it through my Credit Card Company in the end. 14 day rule doesn`t apply as they are intermediary or broker so BEWARE, even if you are a new customer and take their insurance and cancel within 14 days they will charge you for the privilege. Advisors are also very abrupt, bordering on rude on the phone. Will never use again and advise everyone else to use someone else!

Budget insured my van last year for £282.99, this year, although I did not ask them to, they did it for £527.99. When I told them I could get it for £304, the dropped it to £320, I said "if you can do it for £304, I'll stay. They could not, so they are charging me £38 for going elsewhere. I have informed my bank and I will fight to avoid this on principle. How can they drop £207 in an instant without the first quote being a rip-off, Rhetorical question, and then charge for going to a more competitive insurer?

Home insurance due for renewal on the 2-4-16.Had an e-mail from Budget on the 1-4-16 thanking me for renewal, checked to see if the price was still the same and it had nearly doubled even though I had made no claims.E-mailed them immediately on the 1st to say I would not be renewing. Called today to make sure they had my e-mail and was told the e-mail was automated and I would have to pay 38 pounds to get out of contract. Will be getting in touch with the insurance ombudsmen and strongly advice people to be very wary of this company. The 14 day rule obviously does not apply to them..

Please be aware. Had very low price quote and was happy at the start however on second instalment noticed they take monies 3/4 days earlier they say it's to clear funds think this is against fca practice however I couldn't get out of my policy. At the end of the year they doubled the quote when I rang to cancell they made every excuse not to but then reassured me policy was cancelled and I went elsewhere. Insurance due well 4 days before budget take there money even though cancelled. For a year I been patience I now taking matter further they are scamming people please don't use these they taking money under misleading false practice avoid at all costs.
