Ordered a refurbished A1 laptop. It was faulty. Returned it and received replacement. It too was faulty. Then had a protracted battle to get a decent replacement. Promised delivery on Fri 5th June . Now Tues 9th and might just get one by Thurs. Even with emails to the CEO (which he did not even bother to answer) they tried to give me an upgraded model BUT I had to pay in £100. Terrible service, no clue about Customer Care. Waiting now for 3rd replacement......watch this space.

Appalling customer service, they make it extremely difficult to contact them and do not seem to respect the Sales of Good Act. will never use again. Would not recommend.

If you're a business user, don't touch Laptopsdirect.co.uk with a barge pole. I placed my order for 8GB of RAM for my MacBook Pro and immediately realised I'd made a mistake upon receipt of the goods.. rather than two 4GB sticks, I'd accidentally ordered 1 8GB stick.. an innocent error... But upon calling their 10p a minute 'customer service' helpline (which, in itself should be done for trades descriptions), I was told with complete disinterest that they would not accept the return or exchange of my incorrect order as I was a business... They couldn't care less about retaining a happy, satisfied customer.. nope.. they had my money - and a little extra for calling their premium rate phone line and that was good enough for them. So now, as a sole trader who works extremely hard for his money, I'm left with a useless stick of expensive Ram memory that I'll have to try and peddle myself on Ebay. Companies who operate like this do not deserve your trade.. go elsewhere. FOLLOW-UP - TWO WEEKS LATER (Feb 17th) So, after posting this review, and later seeing further negative reviews had appeared online, I noted I had not received the stock reply here from 'Liam' as others had, however, I had received the same reply from him via my message to LaptopsDirect on their Facebook page... I had replied there and been ignored until I messaged again today asking if it was lip service or if they actually escalated these matters... Well, to my surprise, I have just received a phone call from a slightly nervous sounding gentlemen with regard to my order.. who initially asked me if it was still sealed in it's packaging, which I explained it was.. completely unopened and untouched, resalable quite easily... Then I got the story of how it was now discontinued by them and how they had purchased it directly from their supplier and how they themselves would not be able to get a credit note for it.. and how they didn't want their business (which boasts over 1,000,000 customers on their website) wouldn't want to be out of pocket just as I - a sole trader - wouldn't wish to be out of pocket. I suppose I should show some sympathy for a company with so many customers (about 10% of whom also experience lousy service going by the statistics on this page) and who would rather leave me out of pocket and more than a little disenfranchised than possibly risk maintaining a happy customer, who spends a fair amount of money on hardware each year... Good move there LTD! I'm not entirely sure what the point of their phone call was to me today.. if it was to rub salt in the wound, it was successful. I am no longer disgruntled, I am now outright fuming. So, I repeat.. and shall continue to repeat on each and every review website I can find online; DO NOT SHOP WITH LAPTOPS DIRECT AS A BUSINESS CUSTOMER.

awful company, here is my letter to them also sent to trading standards : Ordered laptop on 14th Jan 2015 Received on 15th Jan 2015 Sold as Grade A1 “A1 - Excellent, As New Condition A1 Grade Laptops are often simply unwanted returns and the only signs of use are the broken seal on the box. All graded laptops have been fully tested by one of our qualified engineers and restored to factory settings. They come with all boxed accessories and manuals” List of problems as follows: Not original box with just a broken seal Damages: gouge out of inside surface below the screen please see attached photo. Not “as new condition” as stated also “only signs of use are the broken seal on the box” not true. Missing items and accessories: Asus Leather pouch for unit body Original box Styles pen for touch screen Small pouch for Ethernet connection cable Video out to VGA cable All paper work documents and manuals (I know there is an emanual on the desktop but there is still several documents missing) Plug UK attachment missing (kettle plug supplied instead) please see attached pictures Not only does this particular laptop meet your Grade A1 standards, it no where near your grade A2

Keep well away. The poorest customer service. Bought a faulty product. It took 10 days of pointless calls and emessages to sort a return and won't refund me. Bought a 500 laptop and apparently I should of "spent more on a better one". Big mistake!

I was told since I paid for the item with Business Card we are not covered by Distance Seller Regulations and cannot return the item!! Absolute Rubbish!!! I have reported this company to Trading Standards and will be seeking legal advice!! AVOID THEM IF YOU CAN!!

Ordered a brand new Blackberry Playbook. Paid for brand new Playbook. They then e-mailed a few days later to say that their website was wrong! They offered a refurbished unit or a refund. Absolutely shocking behaviour. Called their number. Even less helpful. Will never use this company as they don't seem to honour what they advertise.

PLEASE PLEASE dont make the same mistake as me and use this company, I purchased a Samgsung notebook from them which arrived on time, However the unit was not what I had hoped for so I decided to send it back, It was slow and only came with windows 7 starter which they dont tell you of course! It took them a week+ to arrange the returns number and I had to chase them a number of times as you only have seven days to return an item as part of their promise. HERE IS WHERE IT GOT REALLY BAD, I recieved e-message from them saying the return had been authurised and a refund will be credited to my card, good? NO. it was NEARLY £150 LESS than I had paid. apparently they had recieved it back damaged and charged me 20% restocking and an £11.00 handling charge. I disputed this and asked for photos of the damage which they have still failed to produce,The damage they tell me is to minor small to show up on the pictures..what a surprise, They kept telling me that its within the terms and conditions that these charges would apply, and asked me if I had taken photos to prove the unit was in perfect condition when I sent it back, what a joke! I asked if the T&C´s told you to take photos for these situations guess what? the phone went silent. I even asked them to send the unit back to me so I could sell it and get my money back. Guess what they wont because it had been restocked. I am going to warn as any people about this company as I can, There are plenty of other suppliers out there that deserve the business, DONT USE LAPTOPS DIRECT they are an absolute disgrace. Managing directors email address nickateasycom.co.uk and a link to a You tube video to show you what he is like, youtube.com/watch?v=vHFsJqIFyWg I hope you are reading this before you have used them and avoided the mistake that I and others have made by usinh them. Credit where it´s due - I do write in to commend good performance, and rarely to criticise bad (unlike what the rare positive commenters below have suggested with this company) Laptops Direct is one of the worst Internet companies I have had the dipleasure of dealing with. Some telephone staff told blatant lies and some were aggressive. The laptop I wanted was advertised as available with delivery within three days so I placed an order. (I checked for reviews on the product, but never thought to check the company) I was then presented with a range of extra payments including £40 for a pre-delivery inspection. Don´t they check what they are selling? All extras are by default turned on so you have to pay close attention to what you are buying otherwise you may end up with the lot. The laptop did not turn up when it should have so I eventually got through on the telephone; the emails ware never answered depite the promise of a quick response. The first girl I spoke to was less than interested but promised delevery the next day. I asked for confirmation of that and received it. The laptop did not turn up. The next time I called, three days later I nearly had my head bitten off for asking when the laptop would arrive. This kind of treatment went on for the first two weeks when I had written off all chance of receiving the laptop and was thinking the whole LaptopsDirect site must be a scam. Eventually I got through to the only reasonable person I ever spoke to at the company; he said they had never had a delevery of that item (despite advertising it as "In Stock")and went on to say he was not sure when it would arrive. I had by this time read previous reviews and new it could be months before I receved my money back so I decide to stick with it. Eventually the item arrived mid December when I ordered it early October for my wife´s birthday. It would have been nice if I had been told the truth. Mick J - Unbeatable.co.uk
