Waited all day for 'Named Day' delivery of Laptop - didn't happen! This morning, according to DX carriers, delivery supposed to have happened at Midnight yesterday!!!! What a scam. AVOID.

****WARNING! STAY AWAY!*** READ HERE TO FIND OUT WHY Naturally the sales process is great and the prices are good too. However if you ever wanted to return an item, don't expect it to happen smoothly or expect a full refund. I ordered a laptop 3 months ago and was messed around by the rubbish "DX Courier" 5 times. After several requests and weeks later it was finally being cancelled. I asked for a full refund and raised a paypal dispute. Several weeks later still no refund and I contacted LD and they said because I had a paypal dispute, they cannot process the refund. I had asked can they assure me I get the full refund including postage and fee's and they said yes I would. Stupidly I cancelled my paypal dispute which was going to be settled in my favour had I waited 2 more weeks. A week later I received a PARTIAL refund. When I questions them they said it was for the postage and paypal fee's. Remember I was confirmed a FULL REFUND twice so I made a complaint for the small amount owing of £7.88. Several phone calls and after long waiting to connect to the 01481 number I got told by Tari that she will process it now... which never happened. I called a week later and spoke to Jess and she said that the payments where made but can not go through because I had previously raised a dispute. This is also a lie because I asked for a paypal transaction code which she could not provide and I spoke to paypal and they also said that is not possible because no blocks where held against them and the dispute was closed over a month ago. So 3 months on and phone calls in the excess of over £20 later and despite being told I'll be called back several times. Still nothing. After searching other reviews I had found plenty of similar cases. Hidden 10% restock fee's and partial refunds. My advice is if you where to buy from them, use Paypal. And if anything was to go wrong, raise a dispute and wait it out. Do not cancel it even if they ask you too unlike I did. If I had waited just 2 more weeks, I would have won in my favour because under the 2014 Consumer Contracts Regulations, they had to refund the postage and fee's. If you too have experienced a similar experience like mind with Laptopsdirect, I can only suggest you report them to trading standards & financial ombudsman like I have.

I have previously bought two laptops from Laptops Direct and both times I was very happy. Recently, I bought a Zoostorm Desktop computer which so far has worked well. However, the experience of the very late delivery, complete lack of knowledge or help from the customer service department, being overcharged for delivery without explanation and missing items from the box mean that I will never be using the company again. The prices are cheap and I guess if you have no problems with the product or delivery then you shouldn't have to use the customer services, beware if anything goes wrong! I was initially told that the product would be delivered in 5 working days due to it being sent direct from the manufacturer, despite it being 5 days I was charged, without my knowledge, for next-day delivery. All attempts to get this refunded have been ignored. The deliver day came and went, so on day 6 I left a message on their online messaging system asking for an update. 36 hours later I was told that there was a delay, no explanation or apology but that someone would phone me back. With no contact, 2 days later, again, I left a message online asking for an update to be told that they were looking into the problem and that again someone would be in touch, again no one got in touch. Finally I rang, politely asked for an update to be told that there was no stock and there was no indication of when there would be - great communication, thank you. The lady was then quite rude and demanded that I had to decide there and then whether to cancel the order or choose something else. I finally got her to arrange for one of the sales team to phone me that evening to go through some options, which of course they didn't. So despite there being no stock, the computer turned up the next day, but with the mouse missing from the box. I again left a message about the missing item and a refund for the 'next-day' delivery but have never heard anything back. Very disappointed.

Re: Laptops Direct. Part of my order was for a copy of Microsoft Office. I am continually assured that the down- load has been sent to my e-mail address and that it has been activated. Firstly, I receive so few e-mails that I am unlikely to have missed it and secondly I have no idea how to activate it anyway. I was buying it as a Christmas present for someone who has far more expertise in using computers than me. Clearly somebody who is attached to this organisation is operating a very effective scam and lining their own pockets. After my experience of non- existent customer service I would advise any prospective purchasers to go elsewhere. Never in my 69 years have I had (lack of) dealings with such a shoddy organisation

The worst experience I've ever had with an online purchase and I never even completed the order. There is no information on the website about the payments they accept, they will charge any card you give them, wait a few days and then tell you it's not an acceptable form of payment. They have no problem taking the money, but they won't process your order and make little to no effort to contact you. After requesting it be cancelled 3 times I have still yet to receive my money back. They claim 48 hours but it has been a week and still nothing. Customer service via message and phone is useless, pasted in responses and no actual information ever given. When you're waiting for 1,500€ to be refunded you expect some kind of haste or communication, you'll get neither. The fact that the funds were taken from a card they couldn't accept in the first place is suspicious. The fact they have yet to refund them after a week is even worse. Would never recommend or use this site for anything. Avoid at all costs!!!

Apologies for the longer explanation, but I had a multitude of experiences in the past 4 days with their customer support, and I found that there rare cases of good employees in that company, and some who have been terrible. Overall, I would not recommend this company to anyone, despite their good offers. I received my product on time, to discover that two of its keys on the keyboard were sticking when pressed. I attempted to resolve the issue by checking that it was not due to dirt, and it was evident that the plastic mechanism that holds the key, was not the best fit, causing it to jam when pressed. I reported the problem an hour after this issue on the same day of receipt, and was contacted by customer services next morning with an issued returns label. I managed to ship it back the same day. This part of the process was well managed on their part. Upon receipt of my the laptop with two faulty/jammed keys (next working day after return-shipment), the customer service team requested for my personal login details via their emessage service. I explained that they do not need this information to address the issue I reported (and ackowledged that they are free to wipe the brand new laptop and reset it to factory settings to login themselves if it was necessary), but they insisited on getting my personal login details (and threatened to return the faulty product to me if I did not provide them). 24 hours went by, and nobody contacted me any further. I had to call them on the 0800 number (costing over £10) during which I had to call them several times: first two times the customer service team (Sophie, 21/10/2015, 16:30) disconnected when I asked for the policy where it says the returns team will need my personal password to test for un-related faults. The first call also included me asking to be put through to a manager to speak about the issue, which was not handled, and I never got that opportunity. Finally, I got through to explain the same issue again on a 3rd call, after which Ashley, was excellent at contacting the tech support, and confirming that they do not need the password, and they will have no issues testing the brand new laptop for any faults I actually reported. Furthermore, Ashley confirmed that there is no policy in place that says that customers returning faulty products must provide personal login information. This did not come to me as a surprise, coming from an engineering background, and was glad someone gave me a glimmer of hope in their customer service team. I am sad to say that despite that the last customer support team member (and the person providing the returns postage label) were highly efficient and useful, I would never order any products from LaptopsDirect (or recommend it) due to the expense of having to call them on the 0800 number (although minor compared to the price of the high-spec laptop) and time I have wasted dealing with an issue that should have been resolved much faster. I am aware that the emessage service would have enabled me to contact them for free, but I had to resolve to calling, as most of the encounters with the customer service team seemed inefficient and stuck in repeated circle of the team asking for something that is not part of their policy, and being rude about it. I hope the customer support members who were helpful to this order are rewarded (mentioned above and probably on your records) and Sophie to be investigated as to why it is appropriate to hang up and insist on customers providing personal login details when this is not mentioned on any returns policy page of LaptopsDirect. This is very different to my experience with companies like Dell, who despite charging a whopping £360 for 4 year next day at home support, has addressed every issue I have had immediately, without problems. I shall be communicating this incident further to Trading Standards if my purchased laptop is not supplied in a full working condition with reimbursement for the excessive amount of trouble I had to go through to get my product, including an extension on the warranty which has been wasted now for at least 1 week since I never got a working product in the first place.

You can definitely find cheaper things online but after this experience I certainly won't risk buying expensive items online! And ESP not from laptops direct.co.uk My husband bought me a laptop as a surprise gift for a special occassion, the timing was unfortunate as we were in the process of moving. We didn't have internet access for the first 8-9 days. When we were finally connected I used the laptop for 2 days and lo behold, I started getting bothered by pop ups and ads. For a laptop that claims it has in built anti virus, I expected more, ESP since all I did for the 2 days was watch a bit of GBBO on iplayer, check emails and do my MSc work! Very dissatisfied we sent an emessage requesting a return. This was rejected the next day, we were told there was a 7 day cooking period for returns. 7 days? Are you kidding? 7 days is not a standard 'cooling period' and whilst it may be somewhere in the terms and conditions it should be highlighted clearly on the receipt! Anyway, so I rang customer services and explained the situation again- I was interrupted and bluntly she said 'madam we cannot offer a refund you are outside the cooling period'. I asked if they could offer some leniency given our misfortunate timing with the move etc but no sympathy just a cold 'no', it says 7 days in the T&Cs it's all there madam.. Well thank you for screwing me over laptopsdirect. At least have the decency to put that you have an unreasonable 7 day policy for returns in the receipt/invoice for people.U

please do not use laptops direct, they are useless, I bought a laptop from them in June which was a gift from my girlfriend and 3 months later it broke I contacted them with regards the issue and they told me to contact Acer direct which I did, I sent it to Acer to be repaired only to get the laptop back a week later with 2 more different faults so I rang laptops direct telling them the issue and again they told me to send it back to Acer and they put the phone down on me, I'm fuming with them I sent it back to Acer who are like laptops direct very useless as they sent me the laptop back the following day with 2 more faults and now I'm having to send it back to Acer again. All Acer had to do is replace the SSD and to do this they had to replace the bottom cover, the top cover, the keyboard and a bezel, I want either a refund or a new laptop which neither of these 2 useless companies are going to help so please don't order anything from them, if laptops direct are reading this and want to contact me my number is 07538772061.

Don't be fooled by the moderate prices and helpful sales team. The new product sent to me was faulty. The so-called customer service team refused to refund and despite a week's worth of promises, have still not replaced or refunded the machine. Nearly £1000 worth of Asus ZenBook and I am both out of pocket and unable to work since I ordered the machine over 20 days ago! STEER CLEAR OF THESE COWBOYS.

DO NOT USE: I ordered an £1,800 Dell laptop from these people on the 8th June for delivery on the 1st July. On the 30th July (one day before delivery was due) they emailed to say that they could not supply me with this laptop and my order had been cancelled (after having my money for almost a month). As nobody called me I had no choice but to contact them on their 0870 (13p per minute number) to find out what was going on. After various discussions it appeared that they could supply me with the very same laptop and spec but with a slightly different graphics card so we started again and they kept the money. After many emails and much waiting the laptop had an attempted delivery from DPD to whom I contacted to arrange redelivery. Having sat at home all day on Wednesday 5th August it did not arrive, despite checking with DPD and Laptops Direct. It was then supposed to be delivered on Friday the 7th August (yes two months from when I placed the initial order) and this was confirmed by email from Laptops Direct. I sat there all day again, loosing another day’s work, and once again it did not arrive. Many emails and calls later have lead to being told that the laptop was returned to Dell (not delivered to me) and now they could not send it out again even though it was Laptop Directs error. They now say they cannot supply me with the laptop that has been specifically spec’d for me and have decided to refund the money. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THESE PEOPLE AS THEY APPEAR TO BE FRAUDULENTLY FUNDING THEIR BUSINESS ON CLIENTS MONIES WITHOUT SUPPLYING ANY GOODS. WORST COMPANY AND ATTITUDE I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS.

DO NOT USE- BEWARE- SELLING FAULTY GOODS AND WONT REFUND! TERRIBLE COMPANY AND SERVICE - COULD NOT GET THROUGH ON NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS - ON HOLD 20 MINS A TIME AND STILL NO ONE ANSWERED AND AT 10P A MINUTE TO SORT OUT A FAULTY LAPTOP THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED TWICE IS NOT WHAT ANY CUSTOMER WANTS. REQUESTED A REFUND AND THIS WAS CATEGORICALLY REFUSED. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM - THE MOST AGGREVATION FROM ANY COMPANY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!!

Spent over £20,000 worth of clients money with LD in less than 6 months. One was delivered to the wrong address, an innocent mistake, but instead of them sorting it, I was told I would have to wait until they retrieved the lost one as though it was my fault! They tried to deliver it a week later, open and used...Had to wait another 10 days for the order cancellation and refund. Also, two of the last laptops I bought at the same time died within days of each other - HP accepted it and provided DOA forms. Trying to get this processed by LD was like pulling teeth - ages spent on the phone waiting for it to be answered, being sent the wrong forms, dead web links...Two very unhappy customers awaiting replacements for laptops they'd used for only a week. the irony was, when I went back to my old supplier they were cheaper! Don't be fooled by the stock 'em high, sell them cheap marketing - they also have the cheek to charge a credit card surcharge on every purchase! Will never use again.

Surprisingly poor service. Item not in stock after paying. Multiple day delay for information. Offered same specification product at massively inflated price. Could understand why this was not acceptable. Would not use ever again.

Do not use this company. Recieved item which doesn't work. Quite common looking at other reviews. Want to charge me £20 to look at it if I arrange with manufacturer. And even then they might not refund . so £20 on top of £115 already paid. Then a further £49 to return it to me. After several emails they are now ignoring me. DO NOT CHANCE USING THIS COMPANY. I HAVE LOST OVER £100 FOR A USELESS ITEM . TRADING STANDARDS ARE BEING INFORMED OF THEM AS IT SEEMS COMMON PRACTICE FOR THEM TO DO THIS
