“Highly misleading website - beware of paying extra for flexible tickets through Opodo - in practice the flexibility is minimal and the cost of the add on is significant.”

“I booked flexible flying, but its not really flexible. I only wanted to change the outgoing flight and was very happy with the return flight. However, I am only allowed to change my outgoing if I change my return flight. There I have now had to cancel my business meetings to comply with this ridiculous policy. I will not be booking with this company every every again.”

“My name is Benjamin and i booked a flexible retun flight ticket from Manchester to kigali for £792.22 . My booking reference number was 18855240694 and I booked my flight via Opodo app on 7 Sept 2024 at 23:36 UK time ( Flying with Ethiopian airlines/Ref:IXTTUH). When I booked for my ticket I paid extra fees for insurance to allow me to change the dates if is necessary(Flexible travel dates guaranteed) and refund option. However after purchasing the ticket I realised that i booked the rwong dates because I wanted to travel on the 12/12/2024 and back on the 29/12/2024 but on the ticket it says 12th Sept and back 29th Sept. So immediately I rang the Opodo contact number and i requested to change dates . They said that they can not change the time but instead they booked me another flight with Ethiopian airlines ; I had to pay another £240 on the top of £792.22. All together I paid £1032.22. After booking me another flight they came back to me and told me that they have decided no to book my second flight for some reasons and I was only given 2 options : First option was to keep the date (12th Sep-29th Sept) or to request 80% of refund. I feel like I have been scammed by Opodo because my ticket was flexible and they are not giving me an option to change the dates ; So because I was left with no other option, I was forced to request a refund which means I will loose more than £300 just like that. It looks like Opodo can decide to cancel a confirmed ticket if they find a customer willing to pay more for your ticket. This is what they do: they issue you a confirmed ticket for the cheap price that you think you managed to get. Then they cancel your flight and offer you either a refund or reschedule your flight to another date. If you take the option of rescheduling then you have taken their bait. This is because they leave your booking in processing state unconfirmed forever and in the mean time they try to find other customers who are willing to pay more. If some other customer accept to buy the same ticket for the higher newly advertised price, they ditch you stating that the airlines did not process your ticket (they blame the airlines and get away). If no one gets the higher ticket then they give you the ticket. You have a huge chance of not flying because of this immoral price bidding genius technique. I'm still waiting for my refund but I should get a full refund because my ticket was flexible and opodo were not able changed the dates for me or book me another flight. I could no find Opodo Email contact to make a complaint and that is why I'm leaving this here . I would appreciate if someone can helped me because I'm desperate.”

“Renewing Prime membership automatically, without emailing the member to check/remind them that the renewal is due is bad practice. If the definitation of a "scam" is a dishonest plan obtain money from another, then this is certainly a scam! I'm shocked to see that companies like BA own Opodo. Shame on you all...”

“Never again! Cheating and robbing customers! We paid for car and did not get It, not the first day due to the flight delay, and even the next day they did not give is car which was paid for almost 4 weeks! And did not give money back! We will meet during process!!! They will pay back not only money that we lost but much more for refundation!!! E basta!”

“Worst experience ever! Would never recommend. I booked a flight through the Opodo website. However, once I received the email confirmation, there was an additional NEVER MENTIONED OR ADVERTISED 78,10 "Opodo charge". This charge is neither advertised to the customer, nor explicitly approved when the payment is made. Thus, this is an illegal charge. There is no customer consent, the customer is not informed until the receipt comes. Then, the only "solution" offered for this abuse is the "Prime discounts" you "earn", and a voucher for practically the same amount you are being charged for.”

“To be honest if there was a no stars option that would be it. They renewed membership two months after I cancelled. Have phoned 3 times to get a refund. Customer service people quite pleasant but no help. Promise refund within 3 days...almost a month later and still waiting. Opening offer very competitive, subsequent searches found them more expensive than others. DO NOT sign up, you will be disappointed ☹️”

“I booked a flight using 14 days free trial for prime membership & when I called to cancel within 14 days they said No because few years ago I already had free trail prime membership which is correct however they are misleading people in buying 14 day free prime membership, my argument is that they should make this clear. Still debating this with them!!!”

“I booked a car rental in the Faroe Islands. When I turned up at the appointed place it had closed down and they didn't bother to tell me! Someone from the company arranged an alternative from the only place nearby but it cost three times what I had paid for the original booking. It has taken me two months to finally get them to refund the original booking and they're now ignoring my emails where I ask them to reimburse the extra cost I had to shell out due to their mistake. Their customer service is completely useless and they don't even bother to answer emails. I will never make the mistake of booking with Opodo ever again.”

“Use at your peril. You apparently haven't booked a flight you've signed up to a subscription. I now have a 90 annual membership I can't cancel or have refunded as it's what has been set up. I have tried to sort it out with them . I can't remove my bank account details I cannot cancel my membership. And can't get a refund. If you book anything with them take this number down 0207660 8565 you'll definitely need it. Also this email service full stop clientprime-uk at contactedreams full stop com Good luck 🍀🤞. But I'd make sure you dispute it with your bank too as they advised on a recorded call the payment will come out again the following year Date of experience: 10 August 2024”

“Most unprofessional travel agent I have ever worked with. Airline company charged my 50 EUR because they failed to perform online check-in on my behalf. “The memebership is a scam - very hard to cancel and refuse to give you your money back even - no warning no cooling off - in fact pretty close to stealing. Customer service hide behind nonsense about tiny small print about everything being non refundable. AVOID”

“I booked a flight online through Opodo with the British airways and it was not a cheap flight and before I knew it they send me an email charging me for membership that I was not aware of. There was no email before hand to let me know that I have subscribed. I had no idea that booking through them meant that I had to pay extra money for membership. This was a big con and I am disgusted with their practices. This was the email they sent me: We have received your payment of £ 89.99 for your annual Opodo Prime subscription. Your Prime account membership has been successfully renewed and is valid until 05-08-2025 so you can keep enjoying your Prime benefit. I did try to get my money back but they were adamant there was no refund. Please do not book through them again. The ticket to Turkey together with the membership cost me almost around £750. It would have worked cheaper if I have booked directly with British airways.”
