“Never had an issue, super easy to submit claims but does take a long time to process for refund payment (seems like larger claims take a month- 6 weeks for processing a refund which is stressful.”

“I would rate them as 4.5. One reason is the way they apply the coinsurance and deductible. So if the plan is to pay 90%, they apply 90% to the bill first, then the deductible. That way they reduce the payment more than first applying deductible to 100% of the bill and then paying 90% of what’s remaining. The payment takes sometime, but the procedure to upload the claim is straightforward. There was an increase from last year in premiums. Don’t know if it was because of the claim or just normal for inflation. Overall a good insurance company.”

“The monthly cost has gone up each year and having a healthy dog, the benefits I have received have not come close to what I have spent on premiums over the years.”

“An excellent value! When I have a payable claim, they pay it. My dog fell ill and required a lot of tests to determine what the problem was. Once I met my deductible, when I made a claim, they paid it. I think one time they asked for additional medical records but that was at the beginning and she had a number of things going on and I think they just wanted to clarify. I highly recommend them.”

“My only issue is how long it takes so long to process a claim. We have another dog insured with another pet insurance company and our claims are usually processed in less than a week. PetsBest typically takes a month.”

“I have had insurance with you since my dog was 1 and she is now 11. Didn't realize how expensive the insurance gets as they get older but still glad that I carry the insurance for her. My only issue is that now I have had to use the insurance due to Zoey having been diagnosed with diabetes she is on insulin daily so I order it every 6 weeks and send in my bill I don't understand why it takes so long to get reimbursed for the invoice that I send in especially since it is the same and will be until I reach the 2500 per incident It should be something simple!!!”

“Occasionally it may take some time to hear about claims but customer service is always so friendly and helpful. The woman I spoke with even inquired about how my dog was doing after her emergency visit.”

“They process the claims as quickly as possible. Emailed me when the info was missing from vet. Customer service is very helpful. Would like to have the option to be able to change my deductible before or at the renewal time.”

“I submitted my first claim and it was resolved in a timely fashion. I enrolled in direct deposit and that allowed me to get my reimbursement sooner than later.”

“We have used Pets Best for a year and a half now. And as a mostly single mom to our dog, I have submitted many claims. Our pup gives me a heart attack every other week due to his ability to run everywhere and eat everything. Pets Best has given me the peace of mind that when an emergency arises, I can take him to vet and will have most of the visit covered. Seeing a veterinary professional allows me to remain calm and get informative diagnosis as opposed to trying to do it myself via the internet. The only reason for my 4 star rating instead of 5 stars is that it does take a month or more for a claim to be processed. However, we have never had to submit a counterclaim and the EOB is always informative on how much of each individual item is being covered.”

“Usually pays within 30 days, but always seem that the larger claims take longer. I have 5 claims in one month span. The smaller amounts pay first. The largest, which was also the first submitted, is STILL in process.”

“Customer service is great when you call in. When you open a claim it says please give them 21-30 days to settle the claim. It took longer than 31 days for my claim to be settled. It will be over 40 days before I receive the check. I'm not sure if it's cause I had a claim but my monthly rates were increased about 20%.”

“Although this claim took a while since we had to take our dog to a specialist. It was finally resolved, but in most cases my claims have been paid promptly.”
