“When I had it in the past they paid fast. But now it has been over 30 days and still not paid. They keep asking for more info for the third time and it has already been sent and still asking for more info. I am getting very frustrated. 😞”

“I frequently refer friends and colleagues to Pets Best. Claims process is simple and I've never had the "hassle" that many people refer to with other companies. My only "complaint" is that since the Pandemic, response time has increased substantially. Normal process was taking 7-10 days. Now it is taking about 3 - 4 weeks.”

“Good reimbursement, but takes a very long time to get reimbursed. Vets won't wait that long, you pay bill then you wait for your funds back. But glad I have it.”

“I purchased a Pets Best policy for my Deutsch Drahthaar puppy as soon as a got her at 8 weeks old. This was a recommendation of my vet, I never really thought about it before. When I looked into it it was very reasonable so I got the 90% coverage policy. I just recently filed my first claim on my dogs policy after about having it about six months. My dog ate a corn cob and couldn't pass it... I had to take her in three times and an overnight in the hospital wasn't cheap... I had no idea what I was doing and It was very easy to file a claim with my phone app I simply took a picture of the bill I paid and uploaded it to them and done. It took about three and a half weeks to get my claim paid out but it went right into my account automatically and the entire transaction took very little effort on my part. I'm glad I have this coverage for my dog and I'm pleased with Pet's Best. Only thing is I wish is that I would have purchased insurance years ago I was unaware it was so affordable hopefully it stays that way.”

“I would give Pets Best five stars except they need to step up the speed in answering calls and processing claims. If they do not, be prepared to be on hold up to or over an hour waiting to get someone live. Claim processing took over a month. I wanted to have a live chat twice, but that was unavailable and was told I may hear back within a week about my chat inquiry. I have faith that they will figure out the snags which largely could be due to Covid-19. Once I actually got someone on the phone, he was very helpful. I otherwise highly recommend Pets Best.”

“They are a good insurance co, I just wish their rates did not jump so much each year when my dog gets a little older. I have friends that have another kind and yes theirs go up, but not as much as mine. It is to late to change now at my dog's age.”

Hi Chris, Yes, prices will tend to go up as your pet ages. Much like in human health care, an older person is going to be more expensive to insure than a younger one. Similarly, a pet's chances of becoming ill will increase as they age. The insurance premiums are designed to reflect this increased risk of illness. Rates are based on pet's age, breed, and cost of veterinary care in your area. You'll be happy to know that prices do not go up because of your pet's personal claims filing activity. We notify you 40 days prior to renewal to let you know what to expect and renewal is 12 months from your enrollment date. We have options to reduce your rates, please give customer care a call.

“refund amount was as expected, easy to submit, but took a very long time, and this was a big bill, so kind of a hardship waiting to get this paid. Otherwise good.”

“Having pet insurance is a must for our family. We adopted an adult dog from the local shelter that develop IBD and was hospitalized with sepsis for a week. I was so thankful we were able to just say save our dog and not worry about the money. In the 2 years we have had him they have covered $15,000 in specialized vetinary care and medications. I would never have a pet without insurance again. While we are very happy with Pets Best they can have slow turn around for reimbursement, sometimes up to 5-6 weeks. I wish they would have more options for direct payment to vetinary centers.”

“So far I’m ok w/ this company. I wish the prices were better especially if you have multiple pets. My one cat has no issues and my other does. The main issue is for every claim I’ve put in it’s always delayed. This is from pre-COVID as well.”
