I didn't think the rates would increase so drastically each year, it seems like the policies will be impossibly expensive as my pets age. Waiting over 1 month for a $5K reimbursement was pretty rough and put me in a bad financial spot. I feel like 2 weeks should be a fair amount of time for a claim. Portal is nice though, submitting claims is easy, payouts seem fair when they do finally come through.

I have yet to really assess the insurance company. I've submitted two vet bills and as yet have not been reimbursed nor, told if or how much my reimbursement would be. I signed my fur baby up for the insurance plan last fall. To date, I'm paying monthly insurance premiums on autopay. I'm hoping that I do not feel regret. Thank you

Pets Best has great customer service, but they take WAY too long to process claims. Some of the pet insurance companies process claims within hours to days from what I’ve heard, while Pets Best takes weeks to months. They really need to enhance this to stay competitive

When you call in for an agent, it takes some time to get an agent, but I found that all the agents were very professional and friendly. Otherwise, the whole process of Submitting a claim was horrendous. It took a long time and there was a lot of back-and-forth between your company and my veterinarian to exchange forms and sometimes I kept getting hounded to send more forms which I sent everything.

This recent claim was processed in a reasonable amount of time but it has been my experience other times that the processing was very long and the customer service was poor. We had two dogs insured but left one dog with Best Pet and insured the other dog else where, which works much better.

Love the coverage but goes up in price alot each year. Takes a long time for claims to be paid sometimes over 30 days

Filed an injury/illness claim for the first time ever after three years of owning the policy. Claim was about $850 total, with $500 of that being the deductible due. Filed claim on June 27, they did not finish processing it until August 7. They sent four generic apology emails in the interim saying sorry for the delay but not offering any explanation as to why. In the end they reimbursed the remaining ~$350, but the amount of time it took seemed very unreasonable compared to how quickly they process the wellness plan claims.

I really liked this insurance in the beginning. Very efficient & coverage was good. Now there is a deductible that everything is taken out of & I’m still waiting for 2 claims which was made in June. One dog didn’t have covers for her heart worm med & I have been doing the same thing every year. It was covered before AND I didn’t change my coverage for both dogs! I need to look at my coverage again online. If nothing can be done to go back to how your service was then I will use this year to find another service. Thank you.

First claim with this insurer, took over a month to process. Once processed, deductible and coinsurance applied in an odd manner compared to prior insurance. Rather than applying deductible to first $500 and then 20% coinsurance to the balance, they applied 20% coinsurance to the total bill before the deductible resulting in $100 less being covered. My two prior pet insurance companies did not process this way so a bit disappointing.

It is taking way to long for you to process claims. I submitted a claim in June and it wasnt processed until August. This has gotten progressively worse over the years i have been with you.

Pets Best has its pros and cons. Pros include having very customizable plan options which vary in price, and having lower costs for insurance compared to its competitors. There are quite a few cons - it can take forever for claims to be reviewed/finalized, they don’t cover a lot of common medications that vet clinics prescribe for basic sick visits (dewormers, ear meds for infections, etc.), and they don’t cover prescription diets for pets who need those. This is likely why their costs are lower than competitors. Also, the mobile app is not user friendly in the slightest - it is impossible to submit a claim on the app (it doesn’t even show my pets on the home screen of the app). I need to log onto their portal on a computer to submit claims. Getting in touch with their customer service team is a nightmare too - their chat never works and there’s no email to reach out to someone; you have to call them and wait on hold for 10 minutes just to speak with someone. Overall, I would still recommend this insurance company for those looking for a lower cost option, as long as you are able to front the vet bills and pay them off before you get any reimbursement. For reference, I have 2 cats and 1 dog under Pets Best, pay $110 per month total, have 70% reimbursement, $250 annual deductible, and no annual limit.

In your last experience, I felt the representatives were short with me and kind of rude actually couldn’t wait to get off the phone! Took over 50 days 50 days! What happens God forbid something major comes up this insurance takes too long and you need more representatives. You just need more representatives not happy.

It takes a long time to hear from Pets Best regarding each claim. Also Ann Marie insurance is very expensive.

At this point I am uncertain about continuing with Pets Best. To have most of the last claim not reimbursed is truly disappointing. We did not have our dogs teeth professionally cleaned within the last 13 months per the EOB, but we were doing it ourselves and that is when we came across the cavities and loose teeth. It is very expensive to sedate a dog and not healthy for the dog for a professional cleaning. The claim took a very long time to decline, not sure why given the final EOB. Given if you have to read the fine print with every claim submission I have no confidence that any claim will be paid mostly in full from here on out. We were happy with the insurance on previously submitted claims, but question renewing again.
