Purple Bricks were instructed to sell my father's home. This was in February of 2019 and my father was alive. The first visit by the local agent went well, she came and inspected the property and later took the photos. The add ran and was fairly successful in attracting viewers. Then she left. Handed all her case files to her manager and walked. I had a call to inform me of this, then nothing. Nada, zilch. I had no support, contact or anything from pb. The new agent never even checked in. Then, I speak to the solicitors they ask you to use. Newbold. They told me that pb had demanded and pestered the firm for my details within days of father's passing on June 24th. Even though Newbold are not LEGALLY ALLOWED TO GIVE MY DETAILS pb made a complain about the solicitors. So, even though I didn't yet have a probate certificate and the contract was between my father and them, I was to be contacted within days of his death to be asked for money for a house that hadn't sold yet. I (me, not pb or its fantom agent) sold the house. Negotiating in IKEA and had no help from pb in any way. Yet I was to be contacted at the worst time on my life for payment???? NO I'm going to shout from every roof top, high place and on any public system I can to get the message out, PB CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE LIKE THIS. I want my money back. I want an apology and I want to know why they couldn't honour their own contract (payment due at completion of sale or after 10 months). I want to know why they expected solicitors to break the law to fulfil thier warped agenda and complain when stopped. I want to know why I wasn't supposed to be able to grieve over my dad because it didn't suit them. I want to know why I was not supported. I want my money back. USE PB AT YOUR PERIL PEOPLE.

Difficult to read their website. Get no reply from their head office. They lose interest when you pay up front. The sign was poorly put in our flower bed and then blew down. Took 5weeks to get it put up, and they put it back in flower bed, although they were told not to. Damaged several flowers. Never again. Changed agents, and sold within 1 month.

Wouldn't bother with this outfit. As others have said, once they have your money they lose all interest. It may be cheaper than proper Estate Agents, but you get what you pay for in this case. I'd rather pay an extra £700-£1000 and have a decent agent with proper customer service support. Our initial advert had lousy pictures (which had to be retaken), and we had to correct multiple spelling mistakes and errors in their write up - we ended up writing the advert for them!!!! We made a complaint that was being investigated, but never heard anything further. Basically, what you get for your money is advertising on the major house sale websites. Some may get better service, but it seems like a lottery dependent on who your agent is. We've since taken the property away from Purple Bricks, even though it meant taking a big financial hit. I'd say avoid like the plague, especially as they seem to remove negative reviews from other review sites - rather than improving their service. You might get lucky with them, but probably best to pay the extra initially and get a decent Agent.

We were trying to buy a property. Purple Bricks were so terrible we pulled out. Was impossible to get hold of anyone, messages on the portal were not even opened, had a survey done and tried to renegotiate with vendors - six weeks later we had zero progress. Couldn’t even get our builders into the property to give us quotes on the work. Ended up dealing with the area manager who was super rude. You’d never guess we were customers trying to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds. Awful!

PurpleBricks wrongly listed the nearest train station for our house as Garforth (2.8miles away), even though we live in Crossgates which has a station 0.1 miles away. PurpleBricks tried to blame 'the data coming from Rightmove', until we pointed out that Rightmove was listing this correctly. PurpleBricks said they'd fix the issue, but 4 weeks later it was still incorrect. They said they'd give us free premium listing, after 5 days they still hadn't. They said you'd look into what went wrong, but a week later still no response from the investigate. Pros: Purplebricks is cheap James our local expert was great Cons: Terrible customer service Inability to fix issues Puplebricks bad reputation puts off potential buyers

Excellent fast transaction. House sold in 5 days. The agent Aaron Tomkins was brilliant, from taking photos, to organising sale. Excellent service.! Fully recommended.!! And £22,000 over asking price 👌🏼

Just don’t do it. Awful. Terrible photos, don’t answer any calls or messages. Once they have your money they pretty much disappear!

Booked viewing early morning to be told sellers wasnt taking viewings till following week. Would you not ask sellers first when suits them? Poor service

Absolute garbage, make sure if you do insist on using them you have everything in writing. I'm giving up with the Ombudsman after 18months because I just can't face time and money going to court - and this is what they thrive on. Clueless, took 8 months to answer a complaint (they did email that they were sorry it was over 15 days as set out in their T&C's) and threatened me with debt collectors on an invoice they had completely gotten wrong.

Purple bricks put myself and my family in actual danger. Ive been renting a house through them for the past 3 years and a few months back a hole started to show in the kitchen ceiling i reported it nothing got done and after time its gotten worse. The hole is now huge, the ceiling has cracks down it and every time you run water in the bathroom it leaks through from the bathroom straight through the hole in the kitchen. Never go through them. Just because its an agency it doesnt make them safe

What a complete waste of time and space this cowboy outfit is. As soon as they take your money they lose all interest in supporting you. We achieved the princely sum of one viewing the whole time we were with Purplebricks. His advice was to reduce the asking price which he had obviously set far too high. On his very first visit to take photos he forgot the bathroom and had to call back-thereby delaying the entry onto Rightmove whilst still having a board up. In my opinion this killed the launch and we never recovered. Don’t touch them-once I had disinstructed them I went back to a traditional hard working agent and my property has all but sold.

I'd vote Zero stars if I could. Very slow to do anything, and poorly run selling team, potential buyers have been put off. And wasnt warned I'd have to pay their fees in full UPFRONT if they failed to sell my property. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS

DO NOT USE! Purple Bricks failed to sell my house yet I had to pay their fees - although I complained numerous times and got a £450 refund against their invoice because of dreadful service from their local property experts, a misnomer if ever there was one. I believe their policies and procedures and complete lack of customer service will ultimately lead to their going out of business.

I've been a landlord for 12+ years and PurpleBricks are the worst property agent I have ever used. They are grossly incompetent and charge a hefty fee for their disorganised service. I came across this review which summarises my experiences of their service. https://lifeafterthedailygrind.com/manage-your-own-rental-property/

AVOID - use an agent that you can switch from free of charge if you're not happy. Purple Bricks are happy to take your money, but don't want to work for it. Over 200 days on the market with only 1 viewing (which conveniently happened right after complaining to them - a staff friend methinks). Only 2 phone calls in 6 weeks, & despite reducing the price by £10k they just want to keep reducing it more. They're supposed to change around photos on the listing to generate new viewings, but we're having to do it. Over 50% of the marketed properties in our area are STC - including a similar but smaller property 100m up the road priced at £10k less than ours. They also lie. We asked if they're chasing up people on their books to try to get some viewings, but the manager Kevin, told us they don't do that. However in our latest complaint, PB claim this has been done. They're a ridiculous time & space who have us over a barrel & know it. Now I've got to pay them £900 for doing nothing & then commission to the new agents that we're switching to. Was trying to save money but with robbers like this its impossible to.
