“When using on a phone, the 24 hour clock is not visible meaning my taxi was booked for 5.30pm and not 5.30 am as needed. When cancelled with 12 hours notice, I was advised I would receive a refund. A month later I am now being told I will not receive one. Their refunds policy is terrible and the price they offer is the same as a local mini cab service so not worth it!”
“I booked through Taxicode hoping to get a cheaper price on cabs to the airport. The job was given to Trio Cars in Illford. I had booked a return journey to Gatwick airport. I was due to get collected from the airport at 18:40 on a Friday night. I paid for meet and greet however the driver was not there. As per Taxicodes policy, I contacted the cab company directly, who told me the driver was parking up and would be with me in ten minutes. I waited 20 minutes to be informed that the driver was no longer answering his phone. Trio cars advised me to get a cab home. I challenged them on why they told me my car was parking, they refused to answer and continued to tell me to get in a cab. I asked whether they would refund the additional cost of the cab, for which they would give no definitive answer. I ended up having to pay an additional £115 for a cab, on top of the £132 I had already paid. When i raised this with Taxicode, they refunded me the cost my cab would have been but not the additional £55 I had to pay. Instead they told me to raise it with TrioCars. When I raised this with TrioCars, they lied and told me the driver had an accident, then backtracked and said that he had just not turned up. So not only are they unreliable, they are also liars.
Neither company are willing to take responsibility for my loss. Each passes me on to the other. The whole purpose of using a site like Taxicode is to get a better rate and easier process when booking cabs. Unfortunately this has not been the case. Neither have been helpful and I've ended spending a lot more money then necessary.
I am not sure why Taxicode continue to use Triocars, when they have so many terrible reviews. This, in my view, is irresponsible and puts customer's at risk of losing money like I did. Needless to say, I will never use their site again, nor will i recommend it to anyone.”
“I booked them to meet me and my family from St Pancras. I told them my Eurostar and expected them to monitor as they do with aircraft. As it was, the train was delayed but we were not told a new time of arrival until we had gone through the tunnel. I tried to inform them but couldn't get through. When we arrived, there was no one to meet us. Eventually I managed to get through only to be told that we were late so they cancelled our booking (yet still charged the full fare London-Oxford). Absolutely useless: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!”
“If only I could give them a lower rating....booked a cab for a wedding 2 weeks in advance, they cancel with less than 24 hrs notice. Avoid avoid avoid!!”
“I booked this taxi service in advance for my manager and three employees to get to there GSM meeting on time. I received an email at 7:54 saying there had been a change of drivers, ok fair enough! They were due to be at the pick up location by 8am.
They call and say they will be there by 8:15, my manager contacts me saying they are still not here its 8:21. They finally arrive at 8:30!!! 30 minutes late!!! This event was very important to the company and they were late! Avoid Avoid Avoid”
“I have a booking for late August and have rang today with over a month notice to cancel and get a refund, informed that a 45% restock charge is due by them if we wish to cancel which is extortionate so be warned!!!”
“Absolutely rubbish!
On the wedding day of my daughter and despite their assurances they cancelled without as much as a phone call!!
DO NOT USE THEM!!! This business should fail!”
“Very misleading website & unfair cancellation policy
I honestly feel scammed after booking a minibus via warehamtaxis.co.uk - a website operated by Taxicode.
After being charged, well in a week advance of the booking, I received an email saying that the job will not be confirmed until 24 hours before. Since I was booking a minibus to a wedding, this wasn't acceptable.
It took repeated calls to try and get through to their Indian call centre, someone assured me it would be confirmed but I heard nothing, so phoned again and asked to cancel, 3 days in advance. Only be be told that I would only get 10% of the payment back!
This service is nothing short of a scam.”
“If I could give zero stars I would. I pre booked a minibus for 10 people to go to the races, almost 2 weeks after booking I received an email to say it was cancelled. When I called the company and spent 20 minutes waiting for them to answer the phone, they told me the vehicle had broken down and they didn't have another available at that company. Taxicode found a different company and PROMISED me 110% that the same wouldn't happen again because it is a different firm this time. Just hours before we are due to be picked up, I receive an email saying it has been cancelled AGAIN!
I called Taxicode yet again and they told me this time that there is no longer a vehicle available and that they are sorry and could offer me one for £158. £158 for 7 miles??? one way!!! when they first ones were £75! I don't think so! HORRIBLE COMPANY AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE”
“My mother-in-law was due to fly into Gatwick airport from Spain to attend a family gathering but her flight ended up being delayed overnight by 15 hours. In order to let the taxi firm know, she emailed them 3 times, the first time being 2.5 hours prior to when she was due to be collected. The last email she sent was about 3 hours later where she requested that the taxi be cancelled as she would be getting a different flight. At no point did she receive any response from the taxi firm or taxicode.
When I enquired about a refund from taxicode I was told that a driver had been dispatched and that the only reason we had cancelled was because obviously she had been collected by friends or family!
My thoughts are that the taxi firm have missed the emails that my mother-in-law has sent, even though this is stated as the recommended way to communicate with them.
As a result I have had several conversations with taxicode, but they have been extremely unhelpful, to the point of suggesting that had my mother-in-law waited for the delayed flight that the driver would have happily waited around for 15 hours for her!
I place blame for this squarely with the taxi firm, however, the way that taxicode have dealt with this claim has been extremely poor. In future I will stick to using a reputable company rather using taxicode again.”
“Awful company!! I would not recommend! We booked an 8 seater taxi as we were attending my cousins wedding in Kirkby Stephen. Paid £140 & was concerned as I had not received a driver assignment confirmation. I rang around 5 days prior and was told no everything is confirmed & you receive a confirmation 12 hours prior to the journey. I rang again the day before to double check as wasn’t convinced. Again I was told yes everything is fine. I asked if it was possible to change the booking by 15mins & was informed it was a £10 admin fee! So I didn’t bother... Then, on the morning of the wedding, at 6.20 am I received an email stating that the taxi had been cancelled & that they could not fulfil my request. Absolutely shocking service! So we were left having to organise other means of transport. Stressful & very disappointing.”
“Do not use this company! They are dishonest and will do everything to steal your money. I had to make an adjustment to my booking and called in before the transaction was processed, and the agent on the phone stated it was not yet processed. As soon as I made a request to either adjust the booking or cancel the agent went ahead and processed the booking and refused to refund the money. Very shady company!”
“Booked a car to travel back from and event which was then cancelled. Even given that this was out of my control only a 10% refund was offered, which is wholly unreasonable in my opinion.
Also, this company seems to set itself up as "local" by buying up domains taxi.co.uk and then slapping their national booking portal on there. There is nothing local, wholesome or customer-minded about this company. All round very shady and one to avoid at all costs!”
“Absolutely appalling service, left me stranded in Anfield,Liverpool no phone call ,message after I paid over the odds £23 single to lime street, should of been around £9.
Paid upfront and just didn't turn up.
Worst taxi company ever.
Would never book with them ever again!!
Be warned..!!!”
“Do not use this company, I had to cancel booking 6 days before offered to refund 10% of the cost of the booking. Total con, I wish I had checked this website.”
“DO NOT BOOK WITH TAXICODE!!! I booked to take the bridal party to my wedding on May 30th (which I mentioned in the booking) and they cancelled 2 hours prior to pick up via email- didn’t even call so I was very lucky I looked at my email on my wedding day. Checked my bank account and they had charged me! Rang to ask for a refund and the agent who answered was both unapologetic and uninterested- would give zero stars if I could.”
“AVOID by all means this company! Very bad experience with taxi code. I booked my pick up in advance and when I arrived I struggled to find the driver by calling him few times. After an hour waiting the driver called me and said that he has left!! I was surprised as just few minutes before I was told by taxi code customer service that the driver is in traffic!! The company is doing now everything to avoid paying me back the 30 GBP which I paid and did not receive ANY service for. I would recommend anything else but not this company. After waiting at the terminal, I had my Uber pickup 5 minutes after I requested this via Uber app.”
