I had a flat battery. Rowan came and start up the car for me and noticed that it's a new battery which I have recently purchased from them before. But the battery was a smaller size than what my car wld actually need. So he's gone that extra mile to make sure that I wouldn't get another flat battery anytime soon. He rang the manager to explain and they decided to replace it with a bigger battery. He also cleaned the parts that's been corroded before connecting it to the new battery. And for this, I give Rowan a 5 star review, for his excellence customer service.

After contacting AA on the 17 July, and vehicle towed in to local VW garage in Interlaken. Firstly told they were busy for 4-6 week. They checked and carried out a warranty item. An electronic sensor in the gear shifter. Drove the vehicle away only to break down next day. Arrange to be uplift and taken back to my UK garage. Advise this will take 3 to 4 weeks. Still not returned difficult to get updates from AA. They use a company called Ontime automotive you do not answer their phone.

AA customers services are always friendly and polite when assisting my cars. I spoke to Arun today and he was very professional. Our service officer was Chris both myself and my mother appreciated how informative and helpful Chris was with our vehicle. He was really friendly, polite easy to talk to. He was happy to share his knowledge of what would the next best course of action for our Van. Thank you Chris!

Appalling service. Total rip off. Been paying for years and attempted to use the the service for the first time today… was told I’d have to pay an extra 179 pounds. What I’m doing instead is cancelling my membership and going to green flag.

I've been a member of AA for 22 years, roadside care and vehicle insurance, and I've always found them to be excellent. Don't have to wait long for a call to be answered, people always patient, friendly and helpful, not had to wait long for callouts. When I wrote off my four wheel drive it was retrieved promptly and the road able to be cleared, and as I had a police report number the agreed payout went into my bank overnight! I don't know how their okinsurance prices are as it's complicated to do a comparison but I won't be looking as I feel I couldn't ask for more.

Diabolical. Had to call them out a while back and they took over 3 hours to come out. I was a woman stranded on her own in the evening. This time I am stuck waiting for them again and have had to call, fill out details online and call them again, having to wait an age for anyone to answer. As previous reviewers have said, they used to be really good. Will be cancelling my cover and not renewing my insurance with them when due. Appalling!

My cars front suspension coil spring broke at my home so could not be driven. My local mechanic who lives near-by confirmed same. Was pretty obvious the car was down on one side. So car needed recovery truck to go to near-by garage. Being a member I contacted the AA to arrange this, as it was a clear breakdown and I have at home recovery on policy. I filled in the on-line form and was told they would be with me shortly. I them received a phone call from Jordan from the AA whom informed me that it would not be covered as a mechanic had already looked at it. Also that a recovery vehicle will only be sent as a last resort. (What am I paying for?) At no time whatsoever did the mechanic touch the car, he just looked and stated the obvious. Does this imply if you are an AA member and also happen to be a mechanic you cannot diagnose your own car fault? Unbeknown to me by trying to help and give fuller information I gave them a perfect get out clause Lesson here is DO NOT tell them a mechanic has looked at it. Even if he only eyeballs it, which is absolutely ludicrous. A similar situation happened to me several years ago and the same mechanic looked at it, (alternator failure). I contacted GreenFlag and they were out with a recovery lorry and collected within in the hour. Actually thanked me for giving a full explanation so saved them time sending a wrong vehicle out. In my experience go GREENFLAG. Impossible to recommend AA based on this lack of customer serve. Aware of current negative AA press, sadly I'm not surprised.

My car wouldn’t start, phoned AA, what a performance it got to the stage where I had to give them my sort and account details who carries them, it finished up I got the car started myself, I’d have been in trouble if I’d been stuck out in the sticks, this is the first time I’ve used them, I hope it’s the last.

I had an issue with my vehicle failing to start. It would not turn over and was perfectly okay prior to parking, after which it just failed to start. The guy turned up, not an AA van but a 3rd party recovery vehicle. All he dud was connect a booster which made zero difference. I could have done that myself as I have one in my vehicle. He then just said he had no idea what it could be and towed me home, less than literally 2 mins drive to my house. No diagnostic no looking at any part of the engine at all, nothing. Then just completed a docket saying it could be this ir that or whatever. I could have filled that in. I asked him if he was going to plug in a diagnostic to see if any fault codes were thrown up, he told me he didnt carry one. What a complete waste of my time and money. I don't think it was the guys fault as he was really nothing other than a recovery driver. I thought the AA were supposed to have a good success rate of fixing roadside breakdowns?? Total waste of money. Not at all happy with the service in any way at all. I wish I'd stayed with the RAC, at least they send one of their own vehicles and mechanic initially to try and diagnose and sort out the issue before resorting to recovery.

I broke down and called the AA at 10.20am, with my two children aged 4 and 18 months. A van came and said I would need to be towed home, which I then had to pay extra for. I was told it would be soon as I was a priority. Despite numerous calls to find out when it would arrive, it was not until 10.30pm when a truck finally arrived.

I wanted to say a big thank you to Paul who attended to my car today. What a lovely kind professional guy he was. Explained everything he was doing to my car to get me back on the road. Unfortunately on this occasion he could not fix my car at the roadside but spoke to my designated garage and explained my issues. He told me car was booked in and would be collected by the AA on the Monday and they would delivery my car for repair to mu garage. Thank you Paul.

AA took 22 hours to recover, very rude staff & blagged their way out of the parts, labour cover avoid at all cost! Ought to be ashamed calling themselves the 4th emergency service… they left me stranded 15 miles from home… AVOID!!!
