“About 20 peppers were rotted. The ones that weren’t were good”

“Though the quality of the Chile is great, I had to call to request it be shipped. It took much longer to get this year than last and I don’t know what the hold up was. Staff was accommodating and I received my order when they said I would.”

“I have always been very happy with products and services here BUT this year is a very different experience. My chilies arrived today (in two days) but with no ice or container for ice in cardboard box. Box was leaking because of the spoiled chilies (47) and damaged 14. What a mess. I will be preparing leftovers ASAP to try to save the rest. I notified Hatch after I posted the review and they responded that since I had used their recommend method of shipping, they would replace the loss. About a week later they sent out another 5 pounds of chilies. As I said at the start I am usually ecstatic about Hatch. I am only happy this year.”

Hi Reid, It looks like you got in touch with us about your order for 25lbs of Fresh X-Hot Hatch Green Chile. You told us that you lost about 15-20 percent of the entire order and sent us some photos. We then shipped out another box of Fresh X-Hot Hatch Green Chile to replace your spoilage since you selected 2-Day Air. Was there something more we could have done? Thanks, Taylor

“Ordered 25 lb of the Big Jim. Received a mixed box. I would estimate that approximately 1 lb of the peppers had started to rot. Would have preferred only the Big Jim peppers.”

“Ordered a box which arrived with plenty of advanced notice before shipping. Sturdy box. Got three different notices though for issuance of shipping label (indicating imminent shipping), two of which I assume were invalid. Roasted them three days after arrival & storage in a cool basement - at least a day too long, as a few had started to mold slightly. A week before arrival, found Hatch Chili in the local grocery store at less the price - and I assume quality & heat-spec! The folks at this "store" were very cordial, although not near the phone (must have been busy picking the chilis). The chilis were tasty and spiced-right to order.”

“I received my 10 lbs box two days ago. I'm from El Paso and it's hard to find hot peppers. Needless to say, I was very happy especially bc I ordered the medium hot and rost them as soon as I got them. I made my chiles rellenos that I've been craving for a while. 👍👍👍”

“I’ll need to order up to hot next time, not much heat but good. I was disappointed that when I reached the bottom of the box the chiles were about 1/2 or more smaller than the ones on top.”

“As I'm very pleased with the service that I have received in the past from the Hatch Chile Store, the chile that I received this year has not lived up to the chile that I had received in the past. I have been ordering from The Hatch Chile Store for maybe the past three or four years and this is the first year I have been disappointed in the product that I received. Some of the chile that I received was soft and mushy and had to be thrown away. In the past when I have received my box of chile, you could smell all the goodness inside, this year no such smell and the chile does not have that delicious flavor that Hatch chile is know for. No flavor at all. This is the first year that I have been so disappointed in the chile. Not good!”
