You took 8 days to delivery. No excuses, you did a poor job. This order was put in on a Wednesday so should have shipped the following Monday. Poor communication or none from you and left multiple voicemails.

Hi Elizabeth, We attempted to reach out to you to solve the problem. We apologized for the lack of communication and explained that our company policy is to return voicemails. We also explained our shipping policies in hopes that you would understand that we keep a tight shipping schedule and try out hardest to get your order to you in the transit time that you paid for. We asked if there was anything that we could do to make your experience better. If you would like to get back to us, we would love to offer you a discount or something to make up for the unsatisfying experience. Thank you, Hatch Chile Store

I received three boxes of Chile's and about 1/3 were nice and meaty fresh Big Jims, and almost a whole box wasn't even Big Jims they were half the size. I had a big majority of the Chile's were on their last leg like they have sat around for awhile...I roasted them the day I received them so they wouldn't go bad any more. I had to throw away over 40 chilies' due to spoilage... I have purchased from you for a couple of years and have always received good quality...I am from Roswell New Mexico not too far from hatch and life revolves around Hatch Chile season...I just came back from Amarillo visiting my grandmother and bought two bushels unroasted and roasted them yesterday after sitting in my truck for 4 days and they were still nice and fresh, looked nothin like what I received from The Hatch Chile Store...that's a lot of money invested to receive old inventory...not a happy customer by any means...this will weigh on my decision to purchase next year...may be worth just driving 5 hours to Houston and buy them there...

We can only hope we’ll eventually get our chiles- we had a notification that a shipping label was printed on Aug 31st and would ship on September 3. We’ve just had another notification with a New tracking # - I am hopeful we may get the chiles next week? We would love a call.

Hi Susan, We do strive for 100% customer satisfaction and I just wanted to reach out to you about your review. I am so sorry that we were not able to get your box out to you when we had originally planned. Our owner made the call to hold all orders going to Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina the week of 9/2 due to the hurricane. I'm so sorry for any inconvenience that caused, we wanted to be on the safe side because at the time they were predicting a Category 4 Hurricane to hit you all. I believe we received an email from you on 9/28 saying that the chile was wonderful and you were enjoying chile rellenos :) Thanks, Taylor

I purchased 25 lbs. of extra hot chile. One box was fine, the other box horrible with rotting chile in the box. I was not impressed and will have to reconsider other purchases from you guys.

Hi Jesus, I took a look at your order and it looks like you selected ground shipping. We have pretty clear guidelines on our shipping page as to what services we guarantee. You opted for ground, which states that it may spoil in transit. Many customers have OK results with ground, so we provide it as an option to our customers with that warning. There is also a pop-up that you have to click through warning customers against opting for anything less than 2-Day Air if they are going to order fresh chile for shipment. Ground trucks are often 120-130 degrees as they transit from city to city during the daytime and this causes the chile to shrivel and spoil much, much quicker than it does when transported in a plane. It looks like we reached out to you back in October and offered to ship you a free 25lbs box of fresh green chile so long as you would pay for shipping. I've reached out a few times since then to make sure the free reshipment reached you in good shape but I have not heard back from you. Was there something wrong with the reshipment? Thanks, Taylor

I was waiting with anticipation for my Hatch Chilis coming directly from the source but when it arrived, half my shipment was spoiled. I realize that some would arrive in less than stellar condition but had not realized the extent of the damages. The chilis looked like they were picked a few weeks back and not just 4 days prior. I immediately went to the store and they had 6 boxes that had just arrived and were in good condition for only 99 cents a pound. I'm not sure why there would be such a disparity as I ordered a total of 4 cases (not a small order). I was told that I took the risk as the chilis were sitting in 100 degree heat. I was surprised by that comment as I would expect when shipping produce that it would be in a refrigerated car. It should be clearly posted on the website that it is transported in less than ideal environment versus there may be spoilage because I do expect some transport spoilage. I am extremely upset and would say there is no reason to purchase direct if it costs more, product is far less superior than what you can get in the grocery stores for more than half the cost. I really like to support the local farms and buy direct from the source as I am a big Farmer's Market person. I was just extremely disappointed.

Hi Brenda, I believe of owner Preston previously reached out to you. When we are packing chile we pick it the same day so that it gets to you as fresh as possible. It looks like you chose ground shipping which states that it may spoil in transit. We have very clear guideline on our shipping page about this and you did have to click through a pop up that warns customers against opting for any shipping method slower than 2-Day Air. I'm afraid there is no way for us to ship each box in a refrigerated truck. At the moment there is no commercial shipper who provides this service. We do ship large wholesale orders by refrigerated semi, but that is when a grocery store is ordering enough to chile to fill a semi. I believe our owner offered you a 50% off coupon if you would like to order more chile. This offer does still stand. Thanks, The Hatch Chile Store

Very disappointed! I’ve been making green chili since the early 70s. I would drive to Colorado to buy chili’s from street vendors. This year I bought my own roaster and it was delivered last week the same day my chili’s arrived from your chili store. My wife and I were excited to get to roasting and freezing. Which we did this last weekend. So far I have made 2 batches of chili and it is by far the worst 2 batches I’ve made. The chili’s were suppose to be medium which they were not. No flavor at all and very very very mild.the almost taste as if they were picked way to premature. The chili’s roasted perfect they just have no flavor at all.

I haven’t actually cooked with the chilies yet, so no review on the quality of the product. I had a disappointing reaction to the order process. I ordered online on a Friday, picked 3 day shipping so I’d get them the following Wednesday for a dinner party Thursday. Come Thursday morning, no chilies. I inquired twice via email and did not receive a response. Called and left a voicemail on Friday. The call was returned later in the day. Indicated they had an inventory problem and could ship from the East coast, to arrive the next Wednesday. My shipping charge was refunded, but I felt disappointed with the service of this “small, family owned company” had let me down. Seems reasonable that to offer expedited shipping you’d follow up to insure expedited shipping happened.
