I have sent documents in size 1 envelope weighing less than 500 grams from UK to India. I have been billed additionally rupees  5458 for customs clearance, storage charges and conversion rate of 1 GBP to INR= 107.35 as of 14/April/2024. The rate is not this high. Customs charges are only INR 1879 and you can do the rest caclulations that DHL is pocketing themselves. Charges includes, Surcharges, Fees and warehouse storage costs for 1 day. This means the DHL team can physically verify the Size 1 envelope and take photographs as evidence but because they want to pocket as much money as possible. I will never use this service again. Totally waste of time and money. See attached photo as evidence.
