I sent my son some books to help with his studies as he had an exam coming up.
I did not want to use Hermes as found them to be unreliable, however DHL are far worse.
I paid via Paypal for the postal service, including collection and extra for guaranteed delivery the next day.
What a joke that is.

I received two messages via email from DHL saying collection would be between 09.15 - 10.15, no-one came.
Checked my phone, new email, collection now 1.15pm - 2.15pm, ok, no-one came.
Checked my phone , new email, collection now 14.39 - 16.39,
and yes you've guessed, no-one came.
Tried to contact customer service, what a joke, the reference number they gave me is not recognised.
WHAT !!!
went to use live chat, no-one there, leave an email if live chat is not live, obviously live chat is well and truly dead.
Sent three emails, will I Geta reply maybe in a weeks time.

Completely disjointed organization. Right hand don’t know what left hand is doing. The organization runs on mercy of the God. They don’t have process, people to handle your valued goods. I reached all the way to top- CEO but they are bunch of jokers who can’t help. My shipment has multiple boxes. Each box arrived via USA to Canada in different plane. Then they wait to all boxes to arrived for custom. Once custom done, it just get stuck in their warehouse for no reasons. The status update on the website shows - required additional info. No one will be able to tell what additional info. Then you are on mercy of someone sending an email asking something (only if you are lucky). Or you just run out of luck as there will be no one to help. You just get up every morning, spend end less hours on the phone with no real info., make sure you pray to the god because that can only come to rescue and wait for your lucky day.
Unless you love the pain, there are many other options. Not sure with this kind of services, how this company get this big. They should not exist as their system is full of flaws. It is not because just this incident. When you looks closer, the company is built on worst tracking platform.

“I saw that the parcel was out for delivery this morning, so my wife and I made sure that we were here. At 1.45pm I thought that I would just check whether there was some holdup only to find that apparently I signed for the parcel, which had been delivered and signed for at 12. Checking the front door, I found that the parcel was left the doorstep.
Neither myself or my wife signed for the parcel and hence I am far from impressed with the service of DHL. (The parcel contains a blood pressure monitor!)
Additionally I tried to contact DHL via their website to inform them of my poor experience only to find that their contact form does not appear to accept standard UK Post Codes. It repeatedly indicates that the Post Code is not in the correct format.”
“Diabolical if you miss a delivery, I rearranged to a local shop for the next day, the parcel didn’t turn up, then I was unable to track due to errors even tho I was entering exactly the same Information I’d entered 24 hours earlier! unable to speak to anyone with just the option of retrying to enter a shipment or card number which I’m being told there’s an error against!

“The lousiest courier company I ever came across. A parcel was sent from France to me at Chennai. The label was tampered on the way with the description as "document' and so the concerned employee (one Priyanka) began to harass me as well as the sender asking us to send the original invoices and other documents unduly delaying the delivery. The parcel is supposed to contain an iron tonic for a patient in Chennai and the parcel was held up by DHL at Bangalore with nasty phone calls and demands of more and more documents. After almost a month, the consignment is still with DHL Bangalore and meanwhile the patient died. It was not a commercial shipment but the incompetent, incorrigible staff continued to persist on sending the original invoices, etc. We sent the required documents promptly. After several phone calls and emails (to both the sender and recipient), finally they say the matter is passed on to the customs and "if no queries are raised by the customs it will be cleared within 48 hours." This experience speaks volumes about the efficiency of this bitchy courier company - DHL.”
“DHL Its most expensive hopples serves I ever had and not just at once. This delivery is second hopples in a row. Firstly, a while ago DHL returned my shipment, which I paid $500 from Europe with no reason. Their reason was the person in Europe who works for DHL and wanted money personally to let delivery go. Today, they put my delivery on hold while yesterday they ask me to rearrange the delivery time for today, which I have. I rearrange delivery for today, and they said they would be at the delivery address. DHL never came to delivery address. DHL put my delivery on hold and emailed me about it. Yesterday I received three text message about rearranged delivery time.
Please, don't use this serves. Use anyone else it will be much better.

“DHL allegedly delivered a package on 7/8. Received confirmation three days later that package was delivered on 7/8. No package was delivered. I have ring doorbell that captures if someone was to approach the door. No one came to make a delivery. DHL stands by the fact it was delivered, the company that I ordered will not do anything. It appears DHL was not the actual co. that "delivered" it, but a third party vendor. Somehow this falls to me, not the carrier or the company I purchased from.”

“Horrible customer service. they have no idea where my package is. been 4 days for any update they said they gave it to the USPS, website and I called USPS and said they are awaiting package from DHL which I knew DHL was lying. I have a friend who works at my local post office and said they haven't received package yet. They take no responsibility for losing packages. Good Luck! “Terrible service. Paid for one day delivery, then the delivery driver took 8 hours to deliver 15-30 packages and then zoomed off, cancelling my order until tomorrow as he went. Shocking service, will be ensuring that companies i buy from do NOT choose dhl in the future.”
“You promised to pick up a parcel within a certain time slot but we weren’t informed of the time. As we were worried about this, we cancelled the collection by phone. The courier finally turned up ten minutes before the deadline but we had already appointed Fedex to pick it up and they turned up within one hour. So far we have a not received a refund from DHL. There is nowhere on their website to enable this. NEVER USING THEM AGAIN.

“DHL has to be the worse delivery company out here. Package was not delivered. I've called DHL 5 times hold time each was at least 20 minutes I've been waiting on package for 3 days. Called to speak with supervisor each time rep has to put in ticket supervisor will call you 90 minutes. No call from supervisor. DHL has not updated tracking information. Negative 0 stars”
“On July 7, I order some items from a business. Two of the items shipped FedEx from one warehouse the other shipped by DHL from another. The zip code was entered incorrectly on both. I received the FedEx package the next day (a day early) even with the wrong zip code. On July 10, I received a notice that there was a hold on the DHL package and I needed to contact DHL for address information. Their customer service is on Arizona time so I could not call for a couple of hours after the notice. I called first thing in the morning and after being on hold for quite a while, I provided the correct address information and was told I would have the delivery the following Monday (I needed for the weekend or I would not have paid extra for expedited delivery). The following Monday, there was still a hold for address information so I called again and after another long on hold time, I was spoke to a rep that verified that the proper address information and said that I would have the package later in the day. Well, it never arrived and the tracking information never changed. The next day, July 14 (a full week after it was shipped) I called again and was on hold for quite a while. The rep I spoke with did not have the updated address information and had to update it again. She took my phone number and said that I would receive a call if there was a problem. No call, no package, No luck. Called again, (4th call to Customer service and learned was again asked for correct address information. Total time spent on call number 4 was over 45 minutes. Don't know if the issue is resolved or not. Complete incompetence.”

“Sending parcel to Spain. For a few days Tracking rejected referance sent. It also rejected and continues the post code in Spain, which i know is correct. When my ref. accepted it says parcel going to Chec Republic.
Another DHL site aknowledges collection, thats all! Contact by email, told there are 2 DHL, independant, therefore they cannot help.
Contact by phone, the wrong DHL of course. Kind lady gave me a phone no. and they acknowledge collection.
Tracking tells me parcel collected, thats all. Tried to phone again, out of order. Not suprised!
Could not organise a party in a brewery, or words to that effect.”
