The previous review gave five stars for a bad review. That is very odd indeed. However, you learn by visiting this company and buying their stock. Then you know how wise it is to buy elsewhere.

“Belmont Oaties” used to have a perfect combination of flavour and a crunchy texture but now the replacement “Crumbly Oaties” have neither of these qualities, and frankly taste bland. The “Village Bakery Fruit Loaf” has had its fruit and fresh peel content reduced to the point where what was once something especially enjoyable is now boring, just like ordinary bread with a few currants thrown in. Starting with these two products will this be an Aldi trend, reducing quality and charging the same price?

I spoke to a lovely girl called Andrea. I queried the price of a planter. I had it wrong but she was do pleasant and did not make me feel like an idiot. Very professional and personable.

Dreadful company all round. Uncaring and shameful. There seems to be a lot of staff postings on here. Makes it even worse I think.

We purchased the national geographic telescope before the lockdown. We have had time now during the lockdown to star gaze. A really fantastic telescope. Unbelievable price!! We saw the moon craters and venus tonight. Thank You

I simply do not understand why people go to Aldi. The previous two reviews speak volumes about this horrible company. Cheap and nasty produce and obviously not giving two hoots about the current crises we all find ourselves in. That's ok. Those of us who care and have compassionate feelings will remember won't we. As Winnie the Pooh said to Piglet " you cannpr cure nasty". Stay away. Bless your dear wife who puts her life on the line for us all.

I always shop at your store in Sutton Coldfield town centre. I went last Friday and we queued which l expected, one customer comes out, one goes in. Great l thought. When l got inside l was horrified at how many customers were inside. Its put me off going to your store until the pandemic is over. I didnt feel safe as there wasnt room to keep the distance weve been advised to keep. Im very sad about this, its heen the only supermarket lve used for years but dont feel l want to go at the moment. Mrs Linda Dance, Sutton Coldfield

The Coronavirus management in your Sittingbourne store yesterday was appalling, the store was packed with customers & there were queues from the front to the back of every aisle. My wife works for the NHS & thought she would use the allocated time slot for key workers. When she arrived at the store there was no management of this scheme & it was in fact a free for all. There was no restriction of people entering the store or social distancing by the management & even your staff were complaining there were to many people in store. When my wife asked a manager why there was no social distancing rules in place, he simply said it was the customers responsibility to stand the necessary distance apart, which is fine apart from the hoards interrupting the queues to get to the produce. She also asked why so many customers were allowed into the store at one time & was duly told “it was because of the NHS workers!!” He obviously saw this scheme as an inconvenience & made my wife feel guilty for shopping at this time. We had visited another supermarket the previous day to get provisions for our elderly parents & found an orderly, controlled procedure in place for entry, paying & exit, they even sanitised the trolley handles before use. We felt safe & cared for & although Aldi has been our supermarket of choice for many years now we feel that a return to the larger more customer considerate outlets are the way forward for us now. The few extra pounds we may have to pay is well worth it for our health & safety Steve Payne

It is not at all surprising that this company use Hermes, the shoddiest courier company there ever has been. Cheapness being the main reason. Their drivers are self employed and answerable to nobody but themselves. BE WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My review is not aimed at the quality of the products that I ordered online but more so the ineptness of Aldi's chosen carrier, Hermes and the farcical approach to resolving what is blatantly a shoddy service. I ordered tools, to the value of just over £30.00, dispatched by Aldi March 24, delivered by Hermes March 27 to wrong address. I did not need to leave any special delivery instructions as for the past 3 weeks I have remained at home due to family health issues, but we are Covid free. It is claimed by the carrier Hermes through their online portal that my goods had been delivered to a neighbor and the term Covid 19 and the name and address of a lady at a dwelling more than a quarter of a mile away had received the goods. I contacted Aldi by email, still no response, subsequently by phone, spoken to 3 difference people on 3 different days, they are all saying that I must wait until Aldi has had a response from Hermes before they can give a refund or replace the goods. Aldi have done checks, they can see that Hermes are Totally at fault, but farcically I must wait for Hermes to contact Aldi. I have now lost all respect for Aldi, I might add, I do respect the individuals that I have spoken to, they are doing their job in difficult times and only following orders. Hermes, I'll make a separate post about them, needless to say it will be far from complimentary.

Honestly. This nasty company beggars belief at times. It is their desire to get you to pack at those nasty packing counters BUT you do NOT HAVE TO. THEY CANNOT MAKE YOU. If they insist politely tell them no thank you, I will pack my bags here. Checkout staff can be downright rude at times. Are you elderly by any chance? If so then it all makes sense as they have little or no time for them. I have never figured out why it is that when people post on here they rarely name the store they are complaining about. It won't matter to Aldi but it can to some who visit that particular store. They can stop going. Once again, shame on them. Go to Lidl instead. Morrisons even. Good luck and I am sorry you had this issue.

My visit today at Aldi was good regarding products availability and the store in general, however at check out the cashier was very rude and made me fell unwelcome. First, there was one item on the floor that didn't belonged to my shopping and when I gave back to her she asked me if I didn't want the product anymore. I had to repeat myself saying that the item was not from my basket, she then stormed off to put the item back without saying anything to me. While I was waiting for the staff member to come back, I started putting the items that were scanned in my bag instead of doing nothing. A few minutes after, on her return while finishing scanning the remaining items from my cart, she then tells me that the shop has a designated packaging area and that I shouldn't have put the scanned items in my bag while waiting for her?! I'm aware of the packing area and how the system work at Aldi, I haven't done anything wrong as a customer and I refuse to leave the house on the current situation to be treated like that. The customers before and after me received a different treatment and from my point of view, she was being racist.
