I cannot complain with the price I was quoted and have accepted from Lexham. Ultimately, that is why I have decided to stay with them. However I had a grievance which I have had to suck up. They first quoted me for a 125cc bike but when the papers came through, it stated that it was for a 50cc bike. So of course when I phoned to correct it, the premium goes up. I disputed how they could have got this wrong since I only ever stated that the bike was 125cc, but they claim that neither myself or the advisor stated the cc on the bike during the call when I purchased the policy, so by my stating that it was air-cooled they "assumed" it was 50cc. How can they insure a bike and not make absolutely sure of the details?? i.e. ask clearly "WHAT IS THE ENGINE CAPACITY OF THE VEHICLE"?? rather than assume everything from what I entered in the online quote process. I therefore felt this was a deliberate exploitation of a new rider who was then left with no choice but to pay the higher premium than I was originally quoted. Only the terrible reviews and less competitive quotes of other companies led me to stay with Lexham.

Advisor not very helpful, very hard to hear conversation due to noise in background in their office of phones ringing and his headset being too close to his mouth. Not very enthusiastic in comparison to the other staff I have spoken to. very nearly didnt take out the insurance due to poor customer service.

When I found myself in the unfortunate position of making a claim I found Lexham to be inefficient, they didn't even forward the details to my insurance provider for days and then only did so when I called them for an update. My insurance provider was , on the contrary, very efficient and helpful suppling a settlement figure within 3 days of receiving the claim from Lexham. Well done Highways insurance. As for my separate claim directly with Lexham to recover my excess this apparently cannot even start until I forward proof of the payout clearly showing the excess deducted and then can take weeks. Very poor service Lexham especially as your the broker and should know these details before me!

Very lengthy process Documents arrived very quickly but although I stated I have the old licence with group D for motorcycles the group is shown as A which presumably is the current equivalent. I also informed the operator I did not know what kawasaki call the security system but the document received shows a specific type. I do not understand why. suprisingly I was asked where I bought the bike. Not appropriate!! I was also asked about the biggest bike I had ridden. This only served to show how little insurers know. My reply was 1203cc. The thing is that this was only 100hp and only fractionally quicker than the 48hp bike I was insuring. Having checked further I note that no accessories are added when I specifically said I would need to add a rack and box to carry the security requirements. Additionally the operator has stated "no " under medical conditions when I clearly informed him of conditions and that they were not of concern to dvla. otherwise no problems and a courteous staff member Update An e mail to the insurers resolved the problems..cannot be too careful with insurance...thank you lexham

My documents arrived and stated that I could renew with no deposit. When I wanted to put the payments in my own name this facility was withdrawn unless I paid £82. Shall be looking for a new insurer next year. Very dissappointed the insurance is in paid from my mums account again !

The staff on the phone were very helpful. I'd had a quote through my existing broking site for a policy from an insurer and the quote you gave, apparently from the same insurer, was a third of the cost. And you were very good at not hard-selling extras. The only spoiler was that you expected ME to give you evidence of NCB - I've never, in 25 years of insuring vehicles, had to do this before when switching insurer or broker. And you sent me a letter asking for it rather than mentioning during the phone call to set up the new policy. With all the databases available, even to the Post Office counter staff, you should have been able to look that up yourself.

Friendly and helpful but the deals are massively overpirced and the admin fees out of this world. Make sure you search around and compare first. I will be doing this in the future

very fast at changes for insurance. Don't understand why it cost more for same cc of bike as its only 3rd party insuance and why you charge a surcharge for using credit card??.

While the price is good, the customer services and on-line quote process leave something to be desired. On-line gives you a quote, but when you try to retrieve it, the system does not recognise the password or log in, then the password re-set automated e-mails do not contain the required information. When you have a quote and speak to the company you find out, the data has not been saved.
