“Pet's best is a worthwhile investment. We have gotten great value out of their services. My loss of one star if for their refusal to cover pre-existing conditions. I insured my fur babies as kittens, so I have not run into issues with this limitation myself, but many friends to whom I've enthusiastically recommended Pet's Best have chosen to not sign up because of this. I realize it's a widespread practice but it's a bad one, and should end both in pet coverage and in people insurance coverage. Generally, though, we really like our coverage! Customer service has been good and most claims are covered. Lately things are a bit slow but we do eventually get our reimbursement. If you're on the fence and your pets are young, i'd suggest signing up!”

“I am very happy with Pets Best! The only negative that I have had so far is the turn around time for the refund (3-4 weeks). Other than that, it is reassuring to know that anytime my pets may need something, I don’t have to hesitate when making the financial decision because the money will make its way back to me. We recently lost one of our pets and Best Pets went off of the receipt that I submitted for the claim, saw he was cremated, went ahead and changed our insurance and refunded us additionally for the insurance we’ve paid for him since he’s passed away. All without even a conversation! The submission process is very convenient and they always provide a detailed email explaining every calculation.”

“I have been a pets best customer for over five years. I’ve always been very happy however recently the turn times have been a little excessive. My last claim took over 30 days to get reviewed.”

“Getting through was difficult. After a long wait (which is fine and pretty much to be expected for almost any customer service line), I was finally connected and then hung up on. I would highly recommend a call-back service. However, once I was connected the rep was kind, knowledgeable, and quickly resolved my issue.”

“I was hopeful for the coverage I picked, but of course my first claim came with an insurance loophole. We thought we were covered for our pups first wellness exam, but since he had an ear infection, it turned into a medical claim, which he wasn't covered for since the two week window hadn't lapsed yet, which was irrelevant for the wellness claim. Would have been nice for the wellness exam to still be covered, but not his medicine since that was medical. Sigh.”

“I have had pet insurance in the past that never paid out. Just recently my dog caught Kennel Cough and eventually came down with Pneumonia. This included hospital stays and 2-3 months of antibiotics; not to mention X-Rays to check lungs and blood tests several times to check progress. Pets Best covered nearly all of it which was upwards of 2K. It did take them quite a bit of time to come back with a decision, but it did come back in my favor and I am very thankful!”

“Very good insurance. Would ideally like to give them 5stars but giving them 4 for 2 reasons; 1. Their mobile app doesn’t work properly after a IOS update 2. Claim resolution is a bit slow due to excess volume(per their communication) but is hassle free”

“The amount paid was as expected, however the claim was not processed for about 40 days. There was no communication of that except when I initiated a call to them asking about the delay. The personnel were extremely friendly and helpful when I called.”

“Pets Best has been an honorable pet insurance company since I started using them a few years ago. They have detailed Explanation of Benefits docs for every claim I have filed and have never felt like they are trying to weasel their way out of a claim. We even relied on their service for an expensive dental surgery when our dog damaged her tooth. The one complaint I have is how the claim processing times have increased over time. They used to have very short processing windows of 1-2 weeks after filing a claim and I felt like that was used as a selling point. However, over time this has crept to over a month of processing time for every claim so it’s been frustrating that something we thought was part of the service was taken away. Overall a good insurance company and would recommend.”

“Excellent coverage for the premiums paid. Takes too long to receive reimbursement for when the pet owner must pay the medical bills. 40 days to receive reimbursement. System works better if you have Care Credit to pay the Vet bill because you are borrowing the money interest free for 6 months as long as you make minimum monthly payments. You can then payoff the Care Credit with the reimbursement money received from Pets Best.”
