I do like Pets Best insurance, but there are improvements that could be made. 1. I don’t understand why you won’t cover prescription food.. it’s A NEED for my dog with diabetes.. Maybe not cover 90% but even 25% would help. 2. Refunds to claims seem to take an extremely long time.. sometimes months! That needs to be addressed..

Very good insurance but can be slow on reimbursement processing. So far have not been denied for anything my dog needs. I would recommend to my friends.

It takes too long to process simple clean claims unlike the previous carrier I utilized. Hire more staffing as it shouldn’t take 45 days to process claims. Thank you.

I am torn on this review. The insurance itself is excellent. My cat had an undiagnosed tumor and Pets Best covered 90% of the cost (after my deductible). This gave me the chance to have all the diagnostic tests run to treat her condition without a financial disaster. they approved my claim without having to fight for it (unlike health insurance for humans). BUT...it took me over a month for my claim to be processed. When you have $1,300 in vet bills that you have to pay up front, waiting that long for a reimbursement is not okay.

We were refunded a percentage for a wellness check but it was at 75% and not the 90% that was advertised. Not sure if that's because of the deductible having to be met. But we were satisfied with the reimbursement. The only complaint is that it took over 2 weeks for the reimbursement and the ailment/sickness invoices submitted are taking 30-40 days before getting reimbursed. Otherwise, the app works great and the CS reps have been great.

Never had an issue with claims & payment. Only complaint is very long wait time for reimbursement. Working in Vet medicine, from what I heard from my clients it is one of the longest Turn around times for reimbursement of claims even with all documents provided.

I have just filed my first claim, it was paid within a week. I wish human insurance companies were so quick. I had a Banfield wellness plan for years... each month I paid out so much money... and while the one to two wellness visits each year were covered... if one of my dogs got sick or injured... it was all out of pocket. I have four dogs... three of which range 50-125 lbs. My smallest dog was recently mauled by the larger dog... even though, thankfully, he was not seriously injured, I felt relieved knowing if he had been, an emergency visit is included in my plan.

I have been using Pets Best for over 2 years now. I feel they are follow the insurance plan for each of my dachshunds fairly. For the price you cannot get a better insurance. Thanks Pets Best.

I'm very happy with Pet's Best Insurance for my Italian Greyhound. She has been dealing w/ a chronic health condition and Pet's Best has reimbursed me for most of my expenses.

I’ve been with PetsBest for several years. Through that time I’ve noticed several pros and cons. Pros: Clear coverage - I know roughly what will be covered before submitting a claim. No-nonsense claims - I’ve never had a real conflict with claims. Everything is clear isn’t he statement of why something is/isn’t covered. Affordable prices - I know what I’m paying and the insurance has paid for itself at least once. The yearly payment is already 30% covered by preventative reimbursements. Cons: The only real con I can think of is the slow reimbursement speed. For 3-4 years every claim has suffered from “higher than usual claim rates” and “delayed claim review” After 4 years of “higher than usual rate of claims” I would think that this is usual and they would increase their agent pool. I only bring this up because I, like many people, have to put their large vet bills on credit cards. So not being reimbursed for 4-6 weeks means I’m paying interest on these vet bills. So the late reimbursements costs me, the customer, more in the long run and makes the reimbursements worth less than promised.

The claim I felt was handled correctly and fairly. The explanation of benefits are in line with my expectations for what we contracted. I was pleasantly surprised that it was one week (10/13 to 10/20) for the claim to be reviewed and a check sent. This is a vast improvement over previous claims that took a month turn around. Well done.

I usually have a good experience with Pets Best, but I spoke to two different less than helpful representatives yesterday. My vet does not itemize the checkup items such as vaccines, rabies, bloodwork, heat work test, etc…. They said they would be happy to give them details. They gave me the impression that I will not be reimbursed for any of these, which does not make me happy at all. I pay $312 per year for the wellness plan so if I can’t even get the basics, what use is this to me?

I checked on line for the best pet insurance and found Pets Best was number one, with good reviews and so far have had a good outcome with them, keep up the good work.

I have never used a pet insurance before so I have nothing to compare it with. It was extremely simple to submit a claim. I have not received my money back yet so I cannot rate that

I really appreciate your coverage. The only complaint I have is how long it is taking to process a claim lately. I turned in my claim on 9/7 and heard nothing until 10/16.

So far I have been satisfied with the customer service and the general convenience. I have thought the review process for claims takes a bit longer than it needs too but I understand a lot of places are understaffed.

We signed up for the best option. It doesn’t cover everything but covers a good amount of our vet expenses.
