“My D-Link Telkom router broke down on Friday the 14th of April .reported matter same day .
Still waiting for their technician to make contact .
Went to Telkom Woodlands only to be told that they did not have any replacement routers in stock .however was directed to Telkom Menlyn as they had 5 routers in stock .upon arrival at Telkom Menlyn I was informed that they also did not have stock .same story at Brooklyn .
The Telkom staff Menlyn refused to call any of there branches to source a router .
When I tried calling the branches the phones went unanswered . Telkom staff unhelpful

“For the last two months my account has been suspended because my account has been "handed over" due to arrears. Which I have all the proof of my debit orders coming off. When I call their collectors VVM they cannot see why I have been handed over, but don't provide me with any feedback other than "contact Telkom directly". I have emailed their documents department with proof of payments; I have requested call backs; and I have sat on the phone on hold with the useless call center and to date still nothing - no answers. I have requested to speak to a manager, I am still waiting for the manager to give me a call back. Telkom has THE worst service, it really can't be that difficult to reconcile payments for your account holders!”
“I got a data contract in January. The SIM card then only worked for 2 weeks then it was suspended. I went into telkom mall of Africa to find out what the issue is and they were not able to assist. They suspect fraudulent activity on the SIM.
I asked for details and they were not able to assist, they claimed that it would take 7 to 10 working days to investigate. It is now the 8th of March and issue has not be resolved. I have called the call center several times and I have visited the telkom shop in mall of Africa several times. I have sent documents several times.”
“Very bad and unreliable service provider. They will bill u for service they did not provide u,, quite frankly they rob u. Also, their direct store agents or staff are very unprofessional and highly unethical. They lucky they even getting 1 star... I'd highly now recommend. In fact if I had seen the reviews before committing I could have helped myself.”
“My account was debited on the 28th of February. I have been calling Telkom for the past 3 days and everyone tells me of the 24 hours turn around time for my services to be restored I use my phone for campus and they don't seem to care. Telkom is the worst and I can't wait for my contract to finish so I can move very far away from them. I will never ever recommend Telkom to anyone. I hate Telkom with a passion.. Joining Telkom was the worst mistake I have ever done in my life. This morning I contacted Telkom again and they now tell me I have to wait another 14 days. Can somebody please tell me what the problem is??

“Telkom is useless. I’ve recently changed to fibre internet and after the installation no one closed the order off which needs to be done in order to work. So even though it shows up and running, we have no access to the internet…but why we are being charged for it?
I’ve called so many times a day and requested them to close the order off so that we can use the internet. A week has passed and nothing has changed. Why must we pay for something that we can’t use just because of Telekom’s own mistake?”
“I didn’t even want to give 1 star. I cancelled mu contract back in 2022 Wed 12 Oct to be exact. I received my sms stating that it has been closed and I told the person assisting me that I want to cancel EVERYTHING. They kept on taking money from me. Today I had to call again to do the same thing I did last year Oct. And if you go to the Telkom shop the people are so RUDE. Its disgusting how they work with customers. I would not recommend Telkom to anybody.”

“Our lte business line has been out of order since 2nd of December. After many many many phonecalls we were told to do a sim swop. Which we did, day before yesterday. Still nothing is working, after our 3rd phonecall today, we were told that the lady at mbombela riverside mall store were to activate the new sim card, because its not activated. Now we need to travel to the store again. Seriously, we have been buggered around from 1 department to the next! Enough is enough!! Your service SUCKS!!!! Time to get another service provider”
“Telkom is the worst and they don't care about prepaid customers. They registered my number I had for 5 years which is linked to all my accounts and profiles as well as work to someone who recently ţook a contract with them. Now I'm blocked out and can't use my own phone number. Their customer service sucks and are incompetent. They refuse to even help me after I went to a few stores and called. I would give a zero but the starts don't even go that low.”
“First of all the system is totally out of date and very antique. Who in this age has to enter a 1 to reply. I live overseas and when you go to the store to assist you with a stupid data bundle it only last for a day. I want a service where you pay let’s say R300 and everything including what’s app, messenger, emails and phone calls should come directly off one amount. Come on Telkom get with the program as this is so third world.”
“I've had problems from day 1 with Telkom Mobile. Went into Telkom store but they couldn't assist because I ordered the phone directly with Telkom Mobile online. It's been 5 weeks of me following up, calling, going into the store again, calling again. After 3 weeks they finally fetched my new faulty phone - then I had to follow up again. 18 days after they collected my faulty phone and I still have no answer.
I have had no correspondence since I followed up again on 2 December wrt my problem and where my new phone is or where my fixed phone is. I got a case number today but unfortunately, they can't put me in contact with the person handling my case, the person who has not followed up with me.
I liked Telkom Mobile but now I understand why their average referral rating is 2 stars.
I am paying for a phone I don't have - I'm the one who must contact and follow up the whole time. Nobody is helping and sorting this out. I can't go to the Telkom Store because I did the order with Telkom Mobile directly online.
Then I request a statement to see why on earth the debit order didn't go through and the person who did the initial sale used details of my company where I was an employee in 2010 and then used a bank account number that's been closed since 2018. So now there's a debit order bounce on my account also and it's not my fault and I know for a fact that Telkom will not write back the debit order bounce fees which is over R200 usually. Why must I pay for your faults and pay for a phone I don't have.
Telkom should give more privileges to those who actually do give good customer service. Telkom should employ more people if they can't handle the influx of work. Telkom should follow up with their complaints and returns and so forth. Telkom should allow us to sort out our problems in person at a Telkom store. I want my contract cancelled without incurring charges and I want it confirmed. I don't want to do business with Telkom anymore. I will go to Vodacom because they might be more expensive but at least you get good service from them.”
“The worst customer care I've ever experienced in comparison to the other mobile network providers. I terminated my subscription as a result. Like how, njani, how do you stand in a queue for over 2 hours for a sim swap nje? Never again I told myself. A whole service centre with two consultants.”
“If you are thinking: "I will save 50 or 100 rand going to Telkom." Think differently. Poor service. Poor communication. Poor follow-ups. Overall, a very unfortunate customer experience. If you want to transfer out of Telkom, my experience has been that of waiting several weeks!”

“I am trying to get a refund for the last week and a half and telkom just refuses to assist. Even the manager does not respond to emails ( a total of 5 were sent). The service stinks at the billing department. Every time you call they have different stories. I will never recommend Telkom to anyone as they are useless.”

“Absolute dogshit of a service. I buy a 4mbps line and it goes at 500kbps most of the time if I get lucky I get 1-2mbps. Telkom is the worst service I hope that they know that.”
