BRYANNA C. OUT OF CHARLOTTE N.C IS A HORRIBLE HOST. SHE WAS NOT ON TIME FOR OUR APPOINTMENT. THE CAR WAS DIRTY ON THE INSIDE AND OUT. I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL SHE FINISH CLEANING IT. SHE SAID SHE HAD A DR.APPOINTMENT. SHE WAS VERY RUDE AND THE LOCKS DID NOT WORK FOR YHE BA K SEAT.

Turo is a money hungry company and will screw up the host and won’t take responsibility for vehicle damage. Guest is in jail and they will do everything to not make it right. Car was wrecked and has frame damage and they can only offer 1450? They don’t care about you or anything. Stay away!!!

I would strongly advise against using Turo. My experience with this platform and their customer service was appalling. I encountered a situation where the vehicle I rented was not properly charged and had low tire pressure, significantly affecting its performance. Despite reaching out to Turo for assistance, I received no meaningful support and was left stranded in a foreign area, forced to make difficult decisions to avoid further issues. When I disputed additional charges that resulted from these circumstances, Turo made it clear that they favor the host, regardless of the facts or the customer’s experience. Their complete disregard for fairness and accountability is unacceptable. As a paying customer, I felt unsupported and ignored. I cannot in good conscience recommend Turo to anyone. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay far away from this platform. I will never use their services again, and I urge others to consider the risks before booking through Turo.

I purchased the ‘premier’ insurance so that EVERYTHING would be covered. Had to pay $37.93 for a tire repair. Over a month, no refund. Every email is so poorly written that it’s nearly impossible to understand what is being said. There is no way to communicate with a native English speaker. I continue to be told ‘you will be contacted in 2-3 days’. Nothing. Although the amount is small, what if it had been much more? I would not advise renting from them. Also, your own insurance coverage may not work with Turo, so take that into consideration. Big rip off.

I will never use Turo again, rented a car from the Morgantown WV airport and arrived at the airport to find out it was a municipal airport that the car was at which was 25 miles away from the regional airport and there was not 1 Uber, Lyft in area and a cab would of cost over $100 so I due to this had to rent another car from enterprise and Turo refused any refund And this was out of my control, the renter of the car never stated the car was NOT at the regular airport but at a local one and I just searched for car rental Morgantown airport, I was extremely disappointed and will never ever use this app again!

Worse experience ever! Cars with engine issues, host that don’t respond in a timely manner & no consideration of weather conditions slowing down the ability to return a vehicle. I was charge a crazy amount for returning a vehicle one hour late! Plus in their contract it states it is us to their discretion to charge fees. So I am done with Turo.

Honestly the WORST customer service with low functioning app. I have a squeaky clean driving record, have 800+ credit score, nothing on my background check. Work in healthcare. I was denied access to services and now “restricted as final decision” with no given reasoning. When reviewing “possible issues” I did not violate any, especially given I was a BRAND NEW account/client. I have been told that they review social media and can choose to ban you for whatever reason. I am not active in social media so I do not know what the problem was. They clearly don’t care about making money for their hosts or gaining new clients. Got the run around on the phone and texting application just to have an email sent with no useful information. Will never recommend- much better companies out there!!

I rented a car from a guy name Mia on Turo not a nice host try to get over on my charging me extra then I gave him a bad review he put I smoked in his car wen me and my gf don’t smoke put ashes in cup holder and side of seat can see the ashes are place there filling intact not smush we only talk bout gas payment hrs later added the smoking and Turo allowed it hrs later after the bad review people be careful using this app these host will get over on u for nothing especially if u give a bad review if u do use it wait till all transactions are over before u do a review cuz if u give them bad review they will tru make u pay more in some way and Turo will allow it better stick to regular car rentals less hassle more honesty and can’t plant stuff say u did wen the host came meet us was smoking cigarettes and u can clearly see that nasty ass cigarettes ashes

Please do not rent a car from Turo. This is a place where there are many scammers. Please Beware of this manipulative host, Dan Raper. He has perfect 5 stars review, it looks convincing, but this is only because he will trick you into giving a 5-star review by saying you take great care of his car, and that he will also give you a discount voucher but the next day, he will make damage claims, saying you damage the car. The discount voucher never come, only damage claims. Similar situation, the host claim there is a collision when there is none and the car is perfectly fine when it was returned. Turo will not protect you from hosts' claims. Please avoid at all cost or else it will cost you thousands. If you do end up using turo, just make sure you take a lot of pictures before and after. The host will not advise you to do so to make it easy for them to make malicious damage claims.

I had a trip canceled on me just 3 hours before it was supposed to start, and the experience was completely unacceptable. According to their policy, if I were to cancel within 24 hours, I wouldn’t receive a refund—but apparently, that policy doesn’t apply when they cancel on customers. The alternative options provided were not accommodating: the pickup location was farther away, and the available cars were not spacious enough for my needs. Because of this, I had to cancel my entire plan, and it was clear no one cared about the inconvenience or stress this caused me. To make matters worse, I wasn’t offered any form of compensation for the pain and suffering this situation caused. My experience was horrible, and I’ve never dealt with anything this unprofessional. I don’t know if I’ll ever recover from this embarrassment, especially since people were counting on me. This was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, and I can’t recommend this company to anyone.

A little fender bender. I had to pay the $500.00 and did so promptly. Now just over a month later they sent me a notice that I owe over $9000.00. There is no explanation or referral id # and there is no place to dispute it or try to get any other information about it. I called and gave them my name, but they said they could not look anything up with just my name, they need some claim number, that I do not have. Photos are on my old camera. Will need to put them on later.

I tried them four times because I wanted to give the little guy a leg up over the big rental car companies, but in the four times I tried, it three out of the four were terrible experiences. One host canceled on me flippantly right before my trip. One car was exceptionally dirty with candy wrappers in the center console and the host was terrible at responding taking over 24 hours and sending me bills over two months later for tolls. One host was living in fantasy land and wanted me to clean the car and run it through the wash and detail it myself the same way if you went to paradise car wash. I am not talking about taking all your garbage out and making sure the car is in good cleanliness. I am talking about he really expected me to spend an hour and a half detailing it. Just ridiculous. The problem is that Turo gives their hosts a long leash because they think that’s what they need to do since it’s their cars, but that creates all kinds of issues with customer service and inconsistency. Meanwhile, the price difference between getting a dirty 2013 Toyota Corolla versus a brand new 2024 vehicle to drive from a rental car company is only about $14 difference a day so this company does not have a viable business model.

I set up an account and spent thousands of dollars for 2 reservations for cars in Maui. The money came off my credit card and I thought I was good to go. A few days before my reservation, they canceled them stating that I am not approved to use the platform. There was no reason stated. What's even worse is that they said it will take 10 days to receive the refund. So now I have to scramble to reserve cars from a different company and go out of pocket because they still have my money. I will never use this company again.

Turo is not a platform for the user. It protects the car owners at the expense of the user. In November of 2024 I rented a car with pick up at the airport and it was icy and snowing when we picked up the car. The car was not prepared for the icy conditions and the ABS system was faulty and caused one of the wheels to lock up and it resulted in a flat tire. When we ended up getting the car in a safe location at a hotel we reported the issue and they canceled our reservation. After a lot of back and forth the owner of the vehicle claimed we were negligent instead of the car being unsafe. We drove the car a total of 6 miles and they claim the wheel issue was user error and not that the car was unsafe. They are trying to charge us for the tire for $336. I refuse to pay it and they refused to continue any discussion about the issue. DO NOT RENT A CAR WITH TURO. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY AND WILL NOT PROTECT YOU OR PROVIDE YOU WITH A SAFE VEHICLE.

Do not trust Turo When things go well of course they collect their margin and do nothing other then providing a good platform Many bad reviews exist where Turo does absolutely nothing when things go wrong. They try to extort money. They do nothing to deal with their insurance company. They lie and not responsive . Do not trust Turo unless u do short trips and don’t mind dealing with problems yourself with seller

"Turo is extremely risky and can cost you enormous amounts of money, as it did for me. A big warning about this service. Rent a car from a traditional rental company instead. I booked a car through the Turo app from a host with a 4.9 rating. We reserved the car for our winter holiday. When we landed in Tampa on December 26, I was informed by the host that Turo had canceled the booking, not the host. Turo’s only response was, ‘Sorry, all cars are booked.’ We were left stranded at the airport with three children, completely abandoned by Turo. They did nothing to resolve the situation, offered no contact or compensation. We went to every car rental company at Tampa Airport, but all cars were rented out. Eventually, we managed to find an old minivan, but it cost us almost $3,000 more than our original booking. They clearly took advantage of people in desperate situations. Think twice before using Turo. They can simply cancel your car booking when you arrive, leaving you to deal with the consequences."
