“My wife purchased an air conditioner online. Went in to pick it up. Customer service tried 2 times to find an associate to help me put it in my car. After waiting for some time, I walked into an aisle, saw three workers doing something and said $20 dollars to help me for 30 seconds loans the AC in my car. Boom- got help.”
“I would love to give an absolute 0 but I had to put a 1. Delivery between the 15th and the 17th. Then oh sorry the 20th. I called (sorry can't call have to text), on the evening of the 20th and they said well it is out on delivery if it doesn't arrive call tomorrow. So I called on the 21st apparently they missed the delivery. I asked for a refund so I could go purchase the weed wacker somewhere else but the purchase was put in to escalation so now I have to wait another 7 to 10 days for an email. 22.9% interest on $600 and I have weeds 3 ft tall and no money to get the weed wacker I want. Why does home depot even offer shipping it never works. VERY frustrating”
“The company was extremely rude to my elderly father, dropped the box in the middle of his driveway. He tried to explain to them that they were supposed to place it in his garage, even showed them the delivery instructions, and they told him to just ask for some money off and left. It was supposed to be delivered across the doorway or threshold.
I called Home Depot customer service to see if the delivery guys could come back and fix it, I was told they “submitted a ticket” and it was escalated to the highest level and not to call back for 24-48 hours, because there is nothing they can do until then.
Huge problem with this is that they trapped my dad’s car in the driveway when they left it in the middle of it, and prevented some critical water work from being completed and now my elderly parents are without water or a car and there is nothing more customer service can do about it.
The supervisor at customer service was absolutely terrible!! He was rude and talked over me the entire time, cut me off, and kept saying we just have to wait. The supervisor was no help at all and kept saying he was the only one who could help, there was no one above him and no way for me to talk to a different supervisor who would listen. After spending close to two hours total on the phone between the two phone calls he told me to call around and get estimates for a moving company to come move the tool box, and that they would look at reimbursement, but it wasn’t a guarantee. Why is that not something Home Depot could do to fix this situation??
Now I have to pay for an Uber to take them to a hotel so they have somewhere with running water, and a moving company out of pocket on top of the $1,500 tool box! All because Home Depot didn’t deliver the massive tool box (over 600lbs) correctly like they promised.”
“I purchased gutter guards by gutter glove the item description says 80 ft. 4 ft. Sections 20 pcs.in box so i bought it to find i was short 20 inches. Eack section is short 1 inch they are not 4 ft. So i had to buy another 12 ft. Box so another $50. Why not put on the description actual size instead of lying to people.its the same with 3 ft.you dont get 3ft. Its corporate grezd at its finest.”
“Had a microwave installed and apparently needed spacers. No one told me this and now my microwave looks like it’s suspended in air. Tried to get customer service to at least give me some of money back since they installed it anyway. But they told me they installed it and that’s all they do. Very bad customer service!!! I would give them 0 stars of that was possible.”
“Everything was told no Home Depot had my product in stock so I ordered five pieces decided to check Other Home Depot‘s found out they had the items I wanted in Antioch wanted to cancel my order after I went to Antioch and bought the pieces I needed they then told me they couldn’t cancel my order why? then, after realizing, I needed the pieces I ordered
I waited And guess what the order was canceled I now have to drive an hour and a half one-way to get the pieces I need Black 8 foot steel edging why isn’t this product in other stores?”
“Wow what is happening in America. I used to love Home Depot.
I had 4 windows on the front of my house. And a super small window with broken glass.
Home depot came out and quoted me $17,000.00 I said what. That's insane and they weren't t even hurricane windows. So that was impossible.
Then I wanted a mini split aircon. It was $1088.00 complete. They sent out there installer. And I kid you not they wanted $10,000. 00 to install the mini split.
I am now done with home depot. Lowe has my business now.”
“You would think that a simple request such as correcting a delivery address would be easy to process. This has been nothing but hell. I spoke with four different people today trying to get a delivery address corrected. Let me preface this by saying that this started because I incorrectly typed my billing address for my account so that when I placed the order that's the address that they used. I get it. But when I was told that they couldn't make a delivery for one of the orders, I then provided the correct delivery address and even updated my profile to the same. Still I cannot get anybody at Home Depot to understand that I need the delivery address changed so that I get the things that I purchased. I was then finally able to get a hold of someone who provided me a link direct to the shipper. But then after following their steps, I get a notification that I can't update the delivery address that I need to contact the seller. So what's going to happen is we're going to keep going around in a circle and I'm never going to get the things that I paid for all because I can't get someone to understand how to make a simple correction to a delivery address. It should never be this difficult.”
“Please do not go with Home Depot for kitchen design, installation or countertops installation. My project has been pending since February, it’s now end of June and I still do not have an answer to all their screw ups and they screwed up everything from design, to cabinets, to countertop to delays.
Worst is their lack of communication.
If you want a heart attack go with them”
“In the Gonzales, Louisiana store, we were looking to buy three new doors for our house. We asked for someone to call for help four times. We waited there for over an hour and no one ever came to help.”
“After all these years their online ordering still sucks. My wife places an order refusing the recommended address and leaving the real address, but when the stuff ships, the label is always to the recommended address and it is misdelivered. Customer service is useless, unempowered to do anything like assure the proper address is on the shipping label, and it sounds like it is from a boiler room in the Philippines from people who don't even work directly from Home Depot. The stores aren't much better, and I find myself opting for Lowes as my primary stop for home improvement.”
“I made an online order purchase and never got my online. They just canceled my order after 3 and a half weeks and never explained why. There is no guarantee you’ll get what you order. I called them after the first week and they rescheduled my delivery date. But that was about it. A terrible experience. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE.”
“I applied for the Home Depot Credit Card, was approved and then wanted to purchase a Washer and Dryer as a gift for my granddaughter and her family to be shipped to them.
I chose the units to purchase and then went to the Check Out. Completed each of the steps and when I attempted to choose the final step, your system declined the sale even though my credit was approved and covered the attempted purchase.
I called Customer Service who, Jose attempted to assist me and complete the order, still the order was declined. Jose, could not figure out what was wrong, so he created a case. He also offered in addition to the $100 discount for applying for the Home Depot Credit Card a $128 discount to cover the all the trouble and inconvenience of having to wait to complete the order.
The next day, I received an email from Home Depot advising me that the problem had been resolved and log back into my online account to complete the order! This I did and noticed the discount of the $128 was not applied to the the total pending sale.
I then called Customer Service. I explained why I was calling and they requested the Order number??? I tried to explain to your representative there was not Order Number, since the order could not be completed. Your CSR was very nasty demanding the order number and that there was nothing she could. I attempted over and over again to that I had a Case Number, she was not interested. She stated over and over and over that there was nothing she could do. I was now in debate with her and requested my call be elevated to a manager. She insisted again, nothing she could do. Finally she said she would transfer me! After being on hold for more then twenty minutes. I hung up!
Over the next twenty-four hours I called several times and explained myself a number of times. Each time nobody could explain why the order would not go through!!!!!! I was transferred to someone in your corporate office Major Appliances department and explained again the problem. I asked her if it was possible to use my Visa Credit Card but for Home Depot to apply the $100 credit and the $128 credit as promised. She said it was not! However, she offered a $100 credit if I used my Visa Card. I said what about the $128? She it was not possible without proof that I was offered this discount. Again, I told her to refer to the notes that each of your CSR told me was document in the system. She stated there was not notes in the system. She suggested I call CitiBank which she gave me the number.
I called CitiBank and told them I opened a new account and wanted to order a washer and dryer as a gift to be shipped. She stopped me at that point and explained that was the problem. Citibank does not allow a new credit card customer to ship an order to a different address for the first thirty days of opening the account.
The next day, I went to my local Home Depot Store at 7015 Arroyo Crossing, Las Vegas, NV 89113 and was assisted by Grant in your Appliance Dept. He was extremely helpful. He called customer service who verified with him the credit for $128 had an open ticket and was being applied as we spoke. However, he to was not able to complete the order due to the machines being shipped to a different address.
I was so upset and started searching for different retailer to purchase the machines from. However, I wanted to stay with Home Depot to have a major retailer standing behind the sale. I gave up on your CSR as it appeared they did not know what the store policy was!
I returned back to the store and requested to speak with the store manager. The general manager was not available but the next manager on duty was Luz. She came over and I explained to the issue. Right away she knew what the problem was! Thank you Aida/Customer service counter who called listed to me and understood and called Luz over. Luz and I walked over the Appliance Department who had Grant/Sales pull up my account and complete the sale applying both discounts as promised. I also, want to add that your CSR in the Corporate Office that could not find the notes promising the discounts was because the notes were being applied to phone number of my granddaughter on this sale.
After three days and much aggravation rising blood pressure resulting to many conversations with your CSR and not one offering a solution! Outstanding kudos To Luz, Grant and Aida at store # 3308. They are very valuable assets to your company. My continuing business with Home Depot is owed to them!”
“It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Ordered online to be delivered to my house. Then the order was delayed for more than five days, I want to cancel it but because it was still in transit they couldn’t cancel it. So the order is sitting on the warehouse because only God know the reason and can’t be delivered. Home Depot sucks as a online seller.”
“Zero stars, Hyannis Store is trash for the most part. No one answers the phone you can't order through the store directly. And yet, if you don't order through the store directly, the store will not pick it up for a return. Note! Lifetime sheds are flimsy, Hundreds of screws and parts very complicated and messy unpredictable results! Get Suncast shed They don't pass their problems onto the consumer.
Also, Lifetime have trained their monkey to reply with rude scripted facile language.
Not all Home Depot and employees are guilty. Allowing the phone to go on answered makes Home Depot a Big box joke run by another disgustingly Incompetent GE failure. Shop elsewhere or this is all you will be left with.”
“Horrible online ordering experience. Pieces of orders shipped with tracking and arrived on time. But they were contingent on other items that didn't get tracking added, and wildly missed estimated delivery dates (most still not received as of this writing). No customer support that can actually do anything. Avoid at all costs.”
“Communication and delivery service has been a nightmare. I have to call to find out why they didn't call or moved delivery date. Not once did they notify me until after I called. Rescheduled 3 times so far. This last time they confirmed I was next and they are delivering within the hour. 90 minutes later I called because they had not called or showed up. They now want to reschedule for 6 days from now. But hey, they will give you $25 off, so that makes up for going without a major appliance for going on three weeks.”
“I made an order on May 17. 2 six foot baseboard covers, 2 end caps, and 1 connector. simple. When it was confirmed by email, the order was wrong. I called and corrected it (or so I was told.) 2 of the small items were delivered to my house but I was told the others had to be delivered to the store (odd, but ok.) It's now June 11 and I am still waiting despite getting emails several weeks ago that the items are at the store. When I went to pick them up I was told they were there but not yet ready for pickup. Irritating. WHen I called several days later I was told they weren't there and no one would say why or what happened. The manager said she would call "dot com" to straighten it out and call me back. No call back. I got several emails this week saying 2 of the remaining 3 items were ready for pickup but not the third. I had until Thurs. to pick up. I called to extend this until all the items were in the store. Again, I was told they weren't there. Then I was told one of the items that the email said was NOT ready WAS there but not one of the others. Who IS on first...? This person said the manager (same manager) would call me back by 3:00 today. It's now 6pm and I called to speak to her. I was told, when she heard my name, that she was on the phone with "dot com." Sound familiar? Also that I would get a call by 6:15...
All I want are the stupid baseboard covers. I would cancel the order but I have 2 of the 5 pieces. This would be funny except it isn't. A monumental waste of my time and, I have to guess, the manager's time as well. It ain't rocket science as the saying goes. If I could give a zero I would. The local store in question is Saratoga Springs, NY which I used to like. Talk about how to lose a customer.”

“My issue is not with the sales person. He went beyond what i had expected. It was the customer service at leila in winnipeg to which i was transfered. The first transfer had a phone ring wigh no answer for more than 5 min. I wax not hanging up because ofvthe issue. It was ended after 2 people connect and disconnected without conversation. I called again only to get a statement they would contact the saleman and get back to me. It has been over 4 hours with no contact from customer service. The salesman has called numerous time to see how he can help. I would like to name him here but nnot too sure how it would be received. I did send an email directly to him thanking him for his effort and time.
If my return to buy was based on customer service i would not br in yhat store agsin. I appreciate customer service when it is good.
I work hard for my money and do not appreciate being treated like a dollar sign with money coming out of my ears. When i buynits not wigh money to dpare its with decisionz about whatbi can give up to makevghis purchase sonits nice to have a salesman that understands th.at”
