“Beware when ordering online. I purchased 2 undermount sinks online as they are not sold in store. They shipped my order, but when it arrived, it only included 1 of 2 sinks. I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to sort it out. When you call customer service, they are always “at capacity” and you can’t speak to anyone. I tried online chat and text message. They gave me a ticket number, however, I have not heard back. Every time I text to check on such ticket number, I’m told they don’t handle it and I have to call in to speak to a supervisor. I can’t call in because they are at capacity.
I paid for 2 sinks and received 1. I can’t install my countertop without 2 of them. So now my bathroom Reno is delayed.
Home Depot has the worst customer service. Especially considering it was their mistake.”
“Worst customer service. We drove 1 hour to pick up and they said they canceled the order on the same day of delivery. The lady was so rude to me and she said we never had the air conditioner in stuck from the beginning. This is while they took money out of our account and told us to pick up in a week. She wasn't even sorry.
Such a poor customer service. Won't spend a penny in home depot ever!! So angry I am!”
“Worst customer service ever. Do not buy appliances for delivery at Home Depot.
Changed my delivery date four times without advising once. Took days off for nothing. Employees kept promising it will be delivered on such and such date. Never happened and never called.
Finally cancelled my two orders and will never order anything again.”
“Once again gouging 400 percent markup on door stop. Just shy of $10 a piece (7') for crappy MDF. Home Stairway in Ajax $2.25 each and it's real wood. 600 percent markup on the 4 1/2" hinges I viewed last week.
Shop around, not all places are CROOKS.”
“Hands down the most non existent service possible. It may have solely to do with on line ordering. DO NOT USE HOME DEPOTS ON LINE SETVICE.
Their computer program is not capable of handling an order that includes more than purchase and mail delivery. If u purchase an appliance, pay for install and takeaway of the old machine it simply won't happen with anything under 10 hours or more of your time attempting to get someone somewhere to complete the order.
Service is in eastern Canada. Time zone service is Eastern Canada. As you move west you lose daytime hours to wait on line in the somewhat fruitless hope that your appliance will indeed b delivered, installed and old appliances removed.
If u live in a condo b prepared for appliances and boxes to be cluttering your livjngvsrea while you wait weeks for install followed by takeaway service.”
“Worst phone customer service or should i say no customer service at all. So disappointed as I bought most of our stuff for reno from them. I ordered my vanity online ahead to make sure it arrived on time, it arrived early than expected except that porcelain sink are in so many pieces. Spoke with someone over the phone and she offered a discount if i keep the vanity! Why would I keep something I cannot use! The delay will set me back another 2 weeks to completion as it will take that long to get another one & now would have to pay extra for the contractor/plumber to install it. She placed me on hold for 30 mins, I believe they do this purposely so you’ll just end up giving up & they wont have to deal with the problem! Lesson learned, Never again!”
“The worst experience with online shoping. I got an electric ranger from Home Depot. It came after 10 days. They drop it and said we can’t turn it on and have to wait for glasses to get to the same temperature as room. After a few hours , the lower oven didn’t warm up at all.I couldn’t turn of the light in either ovens and the oven looked second hand and used. It took me more than 10 days to get to customer service and request to pick the oven . I waited for another 10 days and I didn’t get anybody called again they had put order to replace instead of return. Finally after one month they came and took it . They didn’t give me any recipe or confirmation number. They didn’t return my money back to Home Depot credit card. I was charged intrest . It took me 3 hours from one extension to another and bing hang out a couple of times till I to actually find a human to talk . They returned the money but fir intrest , they asked me to send the home depot credit card statement for them to pay that back . You have to spend lots of time and pay for their mistakes. And I was so tired and exhausted I an gonna pay the rest of credit card then shredded it and never go back there.”
“Furnace prices are extremely inaccurate, website states average furnace for a 1500 sf house is $3900. Totally understand its an "average". The subcontractor for home depot quoted me $6500-$7200 for my 1178 sf home(RT Heating&AC). Not extra work, just the furnace replacement. Very misleading information, when brought up to home depot they were all full of excuses. Waste of my time and hopefully help other customers not get "bent over the rails" -March/2022 Red Deer, Alberta, Canada
Also got a local company to quote and came at 4k. Almost half the price. Check out your local trustworthy companies!”
“Do not order online Period!!!! Placed my order on March 10th, it is now March 25th and have not recieved my order. Called them and i get a bunch of blah blah blah.
I will not be ordering online from them again!!”
“The people working at home depot must have nightmares. They are rude and their excuses are moronic. I ordered somethings online because it said they had 23 in stock. The 2 items were for a project. The main item was supposed to be in stock with 23 items. The order was confirmed. Then I got an email saying it wasn't available but the other item was confirmed and payment was being processed...I couldn't use 1 without the other. When I called, I was told there was a discrepancy...what ..they said they had 23. Instead of telling me that they screwed up and offer a rain check, they said it was a discrepancy and I was screwed and no raincheck but they still put a charge through for the other item. They were rude, unapologetic and basically total idiots...wouldn't let me talk to a manager. Don't waste your time with ordering on line. The underpaid in store staff are ok but the company is a disgrace. I will never go there again. The business model is doomed.”
“Just had the worst experience with home depot. Sent a picture of the vanity for my builder to buy for our 2 washrooms. Too find out when he bought them that the price almost doubled with no explenation. Called customer service they said there was nothing they can do about. Lady wouldn't escalate the call to her supervisor and proceeded to put me on hold and sent me to another department.
No explanation while the other vanities we looked at where not effected. How can you literally double the price and not honour or be willing to do anything. That's alot of other things we will be going elsewhere for. Price gouging prices”
“Polite staff helped me load a rental steam cleaner into my trunk and gave me 2 written and 1 verbal demonstration of how to use it. I YouTubed how to use it properly.
The upholstery attachment, which is what I rented it for, would not work. Water just kept pouring out the bottom. Upon return I volunteered that it wasn't working. No response. Hope you're not the next customer who pays $50 for a non-functioning steamer!”
“Never order online from Home depot.
Such uncaring attitude (beyond who cares about people or their needs) The delivery people delivered a shed while I was in shower so did not hear. No phone call ahead of time nothing !!!! They put it right in front of my garage. Could not get my vehicle out. (LIVE IN RURAL AREA ) there is plenty of room in my driveway for it to have been put anywhere else but noooooo. They chose to block a 150lb senior in her home. Had to get someone to manhandled it to the side so I could get out and missed appts that day.”
“Curbside pick up customers beware!! Home Depot's poor ethics.
If you are immuno-compromised, you can pick up at the curbside, but you CANNOT return any items. You must enter the store to do so. Home Depot will gladly take your money, but if your health is at stake and you don't want to put yourself at risk, you are out of luck... Buyer beware! Only purchase what you are sure will work for you or else risk your health to get your money back. Lesson learned for me, thought I would share. I chose to forgo the reimbursement as my life is priceless.”
“Appliance order, delivery date was guaranteed at store. On evening prior to delivery date, received a call that merchandise was missed being put onto truck (what?), delayed delivery date by 4 days. On delivery day with time window 1-5PM, nobody called or came. Called 1-800 Home Depot delivery service number, was put on hold for two hours. Sales associate at Home Depot was refusing to help with tracking order. When pressed for explanation, the guy got into my face, ready to start a physical confrontation saying that "nobody tells me what to do". What a complete jerk. Spoke to the store manager about this, and he just brushed it aside saying he will deal with it later not in my presence (sure). Delivery finally called at 9 PM and said they're coming by. Received appliance at least, but will never shop at Home Depot for anything delivery related. Never had such problem with Costco, Leon's or the Brick.”
“Don't order online at Home Depot Canada.
Horrible service and did not receive my order.
They won't give you your money back either.
I had to go to the store and repurchase my item.
Paid twice for the item because they say mine is in transit.
They cannot tell me when it will arrive.
Run the other way and shop elsewhere!!”
“I always shop at Home Depot spend every other day this time disappoint me badly I bought drill machine within one month it stop working took back to Home Depot if they can do something and they ask me to take it to manufacture why should I take it there this is Home Depot job to deal with why should I do now the machine is sitting with me because of busy schedule it’s convenient for me to take it there 😞”
“Ordered an item. Was expecting it 02/08. Checked a couple of times on tracking. Finally on the 02/21 saw it was in Dartmouth since 01/24. After an hour on the phone finding out why it was not delivered found out it was damaged during shipping and no one bothered to let me know. Today, there are no more of my item. Got an offer for a 15% discount. Of course the only suitable replacement was $100 more and of course it was up to me to pay the difference; think not. Got my refund and will spend my money elsewhere. There has to be good customer service somewhere. But not here. An hour on the phone, a month of waiting and you offer me $35. Really??!?”
“If I could give HD -10 I would and that would be generous. I placed an order for a portable A/C unit in JANUARY 2022. Over the next 1 1/2 months I was lied to until my 10th phone call. That was when they finally admitted my order had been lost. Do you understand? My a/c unit ordered in winter was lost! If I wanted to place another order I could, but I would have to go online and go through all the nonsense again - but I would have to wait until that particular unit was once again available. No accountability whatsoever. It's total misrepresentation to call themselves customer SERVICE because there is no service - at least not the kind you'd expect from a large company. You'll be tempted, but save yourself a lot of grief, DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING from these people. The questions below are ridiculous. They are presuming a delivery actually happened!”
