“Extremely Bad DHL Express Service in Istanbul
I have been living in Istanbul for the past 6 months. During this time I was ill three times and I could not manage this illness. I did not go to a local doctor because they overcharge people and they dont speak English so communication is difficult. The last time I was very ill with symptoms similar to the corona virus. The pharmacies here do not have excellent vitamins. So I decided to ask my brother who lives in Australia to send me good vitamins, Vitamin C, Cod Liver Oil capsules and an Immune boost vitamin. With the corona virus being harmful. I wanted to protect myself in the long term rather than always having to depend on antibiotics.
My brother lives in Brisbane so on Feb 18 he posted a a package to me with these bottles of vitamins. He sent it DHL express from a local post office in Brisbane. He sent me photos of the bottles of vitamins and the pacakge. Tracking Number-EJ 252296624AU

He also sent a number to call here in Turkey which the local post office in Brisbane gave him - +903124491000. My brother said that the pacakge will take about 4 days to arrive.
On the package is my full address in Istanbul and my Turkish mobile number.
Four days later I did not hear anything about the package. I thought that the package may arrive at the local post office in my area. So a week later I did visit this post office in Uskudar and the guy who I spoke to put in the tracking number on his computer and told me that the package is not in Turkey and maybe it will arrive the following week.
The following week I went back to this local post office and was told that I need to go to the postal head office in an area called Acibadem. So I went to this post office and they put in the tracking number in their computers and found nothing. I asked one of them to call the number my brother gave me but this number was engaged.
I spoke to another friend to call the number in Turkey and he finally said that someone spoke to him and said I need to wait another day and if I dont hear anything than I must write a petition to the head post office about the fact that I did not hear anything about the package.
I still received no sms to date or a phone call from DHL - there was no letter or note from them requesting me to come to their office. My room mate receives DHL packages and they usually leave a sticker on the apartment door but nothing was left for my package.
On Wednesday 11 March I decided to visit the DHL head office

I explained to someone there about the package my brother sent me and provided the tracking number and the waybill number. Then this female staff member told that the package had arrived on 21 Feb and that they have been trying to contact me. These are lies because there are no call logs on my phone from them and neither is there an sms from them. Then she said that they were getting ready to send the package back to Australia. If I wanted the package then I would have to pay a minimum fee - 20% of the total amount of the vitamins. But they will also investigate the original price of these vitamins and charge me an amount on this. And I have to get a doctors letter from my area stating that I need these vitamins like a prescription. All of this I had no idea about at all. There is nothing on their website about this. .
So I told that I will not pay for the vitamins and will not get a doctors letter so they can send the pacakge back to Australia. Then she said I would have to sign letter confirming that I would like the pacakge to be sent back. She said she will send me the PDF letter to fill out and to send this back to her. Later that afternoon I checked my email and found that this letter stated that the package was mistakely posted to me and therefore must be sent back. These are lies! So I wrote her back and that I refuse to lie and will not sign this letter. I have not heard from her. I have no idea where the package is and I have not seen it at all since it arrived in Istanbul. Nothing has been refunded.”

I had a card left on Monday and Tuesday for the same parcel despite being at home and waiting, so I called the complaints number and no apology was given but was assured it would be delivered the next day as long I left a signed note.....however the driver decided otherwise was rude to me on the phone and left again taking my parcel with him.”

I have just cancelled an order I have waited almost a week on, as I work 5 days Mon to Fri they messaged me to say my parcel would be delivered between 15:05 and 16:05, as I was working 1.5 hours drive away I left work early to ensure I got the delivery, after patiently waiting 2 hours, I received a message saying the address could not be found and to rearrange delivery, disgusting people.”

I want to complain about your horrible service. You never delivered my parcel, I spoke a couple of times with the costumer service and they were saying that they will deliver my parcel the next day to the Local Parcel Shop but my parcel never left the delivery depot. Now you are returning my parcel when I've been waiting for such a long time and the worst thing is that I can't even speak to a human being about it. When I call I just get the automatic message that my parcel is returned. Very convenient for such unprofessionals. I ordered in the past with you and you did this again and another time you send my delivery to another neighbourhood and I had to knock on strange people's doors to find my parcel. All I want is to speak to a human being and to get my parcel”
“Charge you a fortune but appalling and shameful service-will never use DHL again! I paid DHL 130GBP to send one box of masks to Beijing and was told the box would arrive in 4 days. It turned to be more than two weeks and almost one week later than Royal Mail which charged only 20... i called their UK service number to complain to no avail and found I was charged 12 for the call... nice job DHL!”
“I will never use this company, when I buy things from the internet and they use them, your time slot for delivery is classed as by end of day and no option to track, then if you miss the delivery the driver doesn’t put a card through your door, mine actually put it in his pocket so you need to ring a premium charged number to ask where the parcel has gone to? “Item supposed to be delivered by 'end of day' on Wednesday but no package arrived. I contacted customer services and had an email apologising that I would receive it by 'end of day' on Thursday. Still no package. I was then told today about an 'operational error' and that my package hadn't actually gone out with the driver but would be with him after 11am this morning and with me 'by the end of day' . The tracking system that allegedly shows updates is still showing that my package is still in Bristol and the date is showing as yesterday, nothing about today. In my last correspondence to customer service I was told my query was now being passed to a Network Advisor. I have just received an email from them saying that I've contacted the depot to request a delivery on Monday!!!! I have done no such thing!!!! I want my package NOW as it's a birthday gift! I have never experienced such an abysmal service! Whether I receive my item is anyone's guess but DHL can be rest assured I shall be taking this further.”

“I was expecting a delivery on Friday, the guy didn't turn up, apparently he couldn't find my address. Fine, it's a rural location. I called the customer service and the lady was able to google it ob google map straight away. Odd. I rearranged my delivery for Monday and I got nothing. Sheer incompetence.
My Panasonic Eva 1 camera has gone missing because of the incompetence of this company.
On a previous issue with the same camera (waybill 7691233675) the DHL driver left it with a neighbour without putting a card through the door. I only found out that it was there because I logged on to the website to see what had happened.
This time, the package didn't turn up, and I looked on the DHL website to see that it "had been delivered" . Tried to find out where it had been delivered. The "get signature proof of delivery" bit wouldn't work. Strange, thinks I. I get on to Panasonic Broadcast servicing in Wales who booked the courier and they said, after getting in touch with DHL, that the driver was claiming that he had delivered to my address, even though he didn't get a signature, and that there was a note on the door, with the name "Molbin" There was no note on the door, there is no name like "Molbin" related to any of the documentation on the package. The driver has lied about delivering to my address, and he has broken contract by not getting a signature. Where is my camera ? I await DHL reply with interest. Legal action on the way if my camera is not found.”
“Dhl policy is to phone ahead of a delivery to see if the recipient answers. If there is no answer the parcel is put down as an attempted delivery with nobody at home. This saves the courier the drive, time, and cost. Unfortunately this is no help to those customers with poor mobile phone signal or who are working at the time and can net accept a call. A very poor service and many upset customers waiting at home for a parcel to be delivered and can’t understand how they have supposed to have missed the delivery, when in fact no attempt was ever made. Shame on you Dhl.”
“Terrible service, stressed out trying to get anywhere with my parcel being delivered. Wasted days sitting around and waiting for message to let me know that the order is delivered to local shop as I was at work. Local shop didn’t exist the driver never let the depot know about it and like an idiot tried to deliver to non existent shop 3 more days !!! I’m still waiting for my delivery”
“I paid £12 for some plants to be sent to me on a 24 hour service. I was told I would get notification of a time on the day of delivery. I didn’t. I was told it was being delivered. It wasn’t. I was told to make a claim as the delivery wasn’t even attempted. I can’t because I am not the seller.
How do they stay in business? Other delivery services must be better than DHL UK Mail. Only in the UK do we put up with such poor service.”
“My parcel was supposed to arrive between 14:20 and 15:20 on 31 January 2019. The driver was on his 91 stop and my stop was 92. However my parcel had been delayed and now i am without it and wont be on on monday. The service is terrible and l was looking forward to receiving my parcel but that doesn't look like it will happen.”

Never the less I was in all evening waiting for it to be delivered between 18.42 and 19.42..... Checked on the tracker, apparently they tried to deliver. No doorbell no knock nothing not even a card. I check the 'event' on the website and find a gibberish message and pin ON THE WRONG ADDRESS! I check my detail and confirm that the delivery address is correct and it was. Now very concerned as it is pretty valuable item to me. Absolutely shoddy service. Try to rearrange for myself to go pick it up to find that the option is not available....great”
