“Dropped a parcel at a collection point/dropoff point and it was never picked up by DHL. Contacted them twice each time they were promising that it would be collected today but it never happened. I’ve had enough. Horrible service. So-called Next day delivery”
“Broke my item. Refused to cover a thick earthenware pot which was in 4 layers of protective high quality packaging, but arrived with a massive hole in the side. Thus handled extremely badly and customer service advisor's response was to apologise for my 'inconvenience. Other companies will take responsibility, despite their t's & c's, which covers nearly everything, so AVOID at costs. It was only a £15 jar too!!!!!!”
“Given incorrect advise when shipping parcels to Uganda, costing untold extra expenses, delays and inconvenience for recipients, and practically impossible to get through to customer service. Usually use another company in Barking, whose service is impeccable, will never use DHL again!!”
“I can not give them 0 stars but the worst service I ever used is DHL.
I send a parcel on 29th of June to Canada and should arrive in 3-4 days ( as I paid). I completed all the forms and I dropped the parcel to their warehouse. After three days I received an email and they said the invoice is not complete. I did it again and I sent it in the same day. I received another email which confirmed that everything is fine and the parcel will be delivered as soon as possible.
On 9 July the parcel arrived at Heathrow cargo facility and from that moment is moved from different places at Heathrow Airport and after in Canada. Today is 18 and the parcel is still somewhere in Canada waiting for clearance. Also, in the meantime the recipient received an emails which said that the value of the parcel was not accurate and now is over 5k $. All the products were gifts and is clear that I gave an estimated value because I do not remember how much costs every single piece. Now after this problem is solved he will have to pay 84$ taxes on imported products. This is ridiculous. Why he will have to pay tax for a gift? I already paid fees to send it and I told them is a gift why they force me to make an invoice with prices and details even if I said that is a gift 🎁.
Please, If you want your products to arrive on time avoid using DHL is not accurate and can not arrive in 3-4 days as they guarantee at the beginning. Also the taxes can be a big problem when people need to collect their parcels.”
“Expected redelivery of a cooker today after having to wait one month for an available date. Was given a 4hr timeslot and told by Argos I would hear from DHL on the day of delivery with a narrower timescale. I did receive an email from them but it only confirmed the same 4hr slot. I therefore had to sit for 4hrs in an unoccupied and unfurnished flat on a boiling hot day waiting for some contact. Efforts to get in touch with them are pointless as I've discovered in the past. The phone just rings out with an occasional message saying 'your call will be answered shortly'.
Total rubbish !!. Then just as I was about to leave my phone rang. It was DHL saying someone had phoned in sick and I wouldnt be getting my cooker today. To add insult to injury they then said they couldnt even deliver at a future date as they were ceasing their gas and electricity installation service for Argos and cooker would have to be returned to Argos to sort things out. I explained I needed the cooker urgently as I had sold the flat and the new owner would be moving in. It made little difference. The woman I spoke to feigned interest but couldnt have cared less. Thoroughly disgusted at the poor customer service and complete lack of empathy. Why did it take so long to let me know what was happening. Still shocked at the days events.”
“DHL delivery service that chooses where to deliver rather than where it should deliver it.
DHL failed to flag up that they do not deliver to P.O.BOXes; they took my original documents (irreplaceable). When they could not deliver to the actual address, they chose to deliver to a random address without calling to check with the sender if that was OK. They lost my documents. The person who supposedly signed the receipt for my documents at the random delivery address is fictional. All DHL has done is call or email a few days to say that they have no further info and offer a £100 "goodwill gesture",
(replacing my documents would cost over £1,000).
At no point have they managed to explain:
1) Why did they not call to inform the company that they could not deliver to the address and decided to conjure up an address to deliver to?
2) why a fictional person signed the receipt?
The most amusing part of DHL's attempt to pass the buck was that explanation that a UK employee of this Global company at some point had agreed to have all letters to this particular P.O.Box delivered to a random address. When I asked about the agreement, it turns out that the woman who struck this deal is now retired and her deals would have been in her emails that are no longer available.
Incompetent, dismissive and unhelpful... that's about sums DHL.”
“Left my package in heavy rain in the streets outside. No calling my doorbell, nothing. Also, my package was late 3 days.
PLEASE QUIT JOB IF YOU CAN'T DO IT RIGHT AND DON'T LIKE IT. All people matter.
Disgusting.”
“Legal documents sent from London to Algarve Portugal and week later its in Angola! No explanation, DHL impossible to contact or get a response. Absolutely hopeless and advise anyone to never use again.”
“Our 1004 Euro item was either stolen or really damaged by DHL (who knows), what we know is that it was till 500 insured, not a cent DHL compensated, tried to accuse us to poor packing,..,... Lies, one after the other, wasted our money and time, after 6 month not a cent! Not an excuse us for being so....”
“I would have given 0 stars if possible. Do not recommend.
I would have given 0 stars if possible.
We had a washing machine delivered and installed by DHL through Argos. Not only did they install it incorrectly causing water to leak everywhere, they also tore up the new lino flooring.
After months of waiting, the claims team came back saying that they will not cover any costs as they do not consider DHL liable for the damage. How is this possible when no one else but their two drivers were involved?
Absolutely terrible busniess ethics with no consideration for their customers at all. Utterly disgusted.”
“Wrong company ever.
Disgusting customer service, impossible to get hold of an operator, when you do they hang up on you.
The tracking is not even updated, i do not know where my parcel is, but it is late.
I paid for a 4 days delivery, and they have not even delivered it.
They will make your process stressful and a mess. Do not use this service.”
“Ordered a Next day collect and delivery of a parcel - 8 days later I'm still waiting for it to be collected. Despite spending half hour on the phone every day for the last 7 days. Make your life less stressful - don't use DHL”
“Like many others we were lied to by DHL regarding failed delivery (when we were home all day) and rejected delivery (when we were again at home all day but had no attemped delivery). Item has now been sent back to sender. What a waste of time and effort.
On top of that their software is rubbish. The PC/Internet website crashes and the info between PC and Phone sytem is inconsistent and incorrect.”
“Truly the worst courier company I’ve ever had to deal with. Thank you so much for having me frantically mess around for the whole day trying to locate what’s going on with my parcel. Oh and thank you for not even bothering to deliver the parcel. Not even a pandemic is an excuse of how rubbish your services are”
“I have spent 3 days been directly lied to by your "customer service" team. I have had my delivery delayed by days (which I took of work) because your agents just keep making blind unauthorized changes to my delivery instructions, I am told I will have a supervisor call me back in 90 minutes......4 hours later someone calls me from the "escalation" team to let me know I am F'd for yet another day, I ask to talk to their supervisor and get told someone will call me back in 90 minutes....except when I ask what time they close and then its the awkward silence followed by oh we close in 5 minutes, "you won't actually get a call back until tomorrow".”
“Worst customer service and service over all
Been using DHL for over 10 years and will remove them as a shipper
Losing packs
Damaged packages
No response and no accountability
3rd party customer service and everyone is a supervisor and everyone keep transferring to the next person that does not know what the right or left hand is doing”
“Do not ship with DHL. I sent 6 shipment with them and they arrived 42 days late due to delivery delays in transiting though their hubs. They also then had the cheek to say it was my fault for providing the wrong invoice ( I was proivided with 3 sets of invoices from the DHL team and filled them all in) and they wont refund any deleivery fee becasue they cant verify the dealy even though I sent them the full tracking history showing the delays!
Save your time, money and stress and dont ship with DHL”
“USELESS USELESS and USELESS. SHOULD HIDE THEIS HEADS IN SHAME. YOU CANNOT SPEAK TO A LIVING SOUL DESPITE BEING TOLD CALLS ARE RECORDED. HOW CAN THEY BE RECORDED WHEN YOU CANNOT SPEAK TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Incredibly bad service. I would give negative 5 stars. My driver was too lazy to get out of his truck and deliver the package. Instead, he reported a problem with the address. Someone from DHL called 2 days later to confirm the location. She looked it up on google maps and could see the numbers right on the building. 2 days after that I called to find out WTF they did with my package. Got bounced around between 3 different departments and and spoke to 3 different CS reps with heavy foreign accents. Finally found out it's "on hold" because they can't deliver. Told her the problem is their driver is either too lazy or too effing stupid to deliver a package. So now I have to wait another 48 hours and then drive across town to pick it up at some mailbox place. How does this company stay in business?”
