“The main reason not to use DHL is their customer service number is 7p per minute. I think they intentionally screw up their parcels as they can make a fortune from these phone calls.
I used DHL a few years ago to bring a package from china. Why have a tracking system that does not track?
After that experience, i vouched never to use them again as first impressions gives you a good insight to performance.
A family member had arranged a delivery to us in the UK from South africa. Had all the shipment and tracking info that is fine but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to arrange to collect it from their depot the following day.
I went to the designated depot to collect and it was showing as still on the van but it should have been left at the depot the previous day as arranged. Called customer services and eventually told, that it is showing on the system at the depot we picked. But the system at the depot said it was still in transit. The second call to customer services then said, it was still on the container. What container? This information was not corresponding to the system at the pick-up depot. If this was still on the container, then it has not been put out for delivery as per their delivery date and tracking system. Someone or something was lying.
In total, the three phone calls to customer services has cost around £25. We still dont have the parcel and dont even know if it is at the correct depot or even in the uk. The saga continues, will update.
Please do not use DHL.”
“The reputation of this company depends on its delivery drivers and its customer service , and one bad apple can ruin a customer’s experience. This has been the story in my case, having been given three dates for the delivery of my parcel, and being let down on all three occasions. Couldn’t care less attitude by customer service operator, the delivery driver telling downright lies about so called attempts to deliver. It was basically “my problem” even though it was they who had failed to provide an acceptable service.
Would never again by anything from a company using DHL to deliver.”
“AVOID ABOID AVOID
I would' given 0 stars if it was possible. I didn't choose DHL. Amazon Did!!
Stay away from DHL!!!!!!!! Wasted 2 days to wait for delivery. Fake delivery attempts!! Nobody even try to deliver it.... Than you have to travel 10miles to pick it up?! Bulshit!
You request time frame for delivery but than they can't guarantee it. Why you give ut as an option any way if its not working?!
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

“Truly the worst of worst.
DHL are arrogant and need to be investigated judging by the terrible reviews on Trust Pilot and others. They lost my parcel and failed to even call me back. £450 value gone !
Avoid DHL at all costs.”
“Control account work on behalf of DHL as a debt collector.I had an invoice from DHL for £996.23 for the importation of two mobility tricycles including a levy for £361:23 which I did not understand what it was for.I thought it was an import tax but a mobility scooter is zero import tax so I thought I would query it with DHL.So I sent them an e mail and they said not to pay it while they looked into it.Nothing happened then until I got a demanding letter from DHL so in receipt of that I paid the difference between the £996 and the £361 expecting them to come back and ask why,so I got my original question/Query answered.DHL drew the money from my bank on the 17th April and I then received the debt collectors Controlaccount) demand on the 26th April for the full amount plus debt charges.I then sent a recorded letter (I have signatures for acceptance) to both DHL and Controlaccount outlining my invoice query and asking for an explanation.I have never received a reply to either letter just another demand from Control account for the balance now owing plus charges.I have tried to talk to controlaccount by e mail but this is impossible as they only want phone calls so you have no record of what transpires.I sent an e mail via their own website asking them to e mail me as I wanted a record and they replied thanking me for asking for a statement of what I owed.I think I have the right to query an invoice (After 45 years in business) if I want to and should have a reply so I can then agree to pay or dispute same.
My wife has paid the amount behind my back to get rid of it as I was prepared to go to court with my paperwork, showing that nobody could be bothered to talk to me about an invoice query, just ignore any reasonable request and hound me into the ground.
DHL and controlaccount in my own opinion are acting as dictators and bulldozing customers around.I am surprised that DHL want to get a bad reputation acting this way and using debt collectors that you cannot send an e mail to.Shame on you both.”
“DHL Parcels: everybody's worst ever delivery company.
Level of customer service is zero
DHL Parcels customer telephone line: 02477 711 922. You WILL be able to speak to someone who might be able to help.”
“To failed deliveries for a birthday present. There is no way to contact the service or company other than via a contact form on their web site or an automated phone line. I now have 5 case complain numbers generated from their contact form. The phone line kept cutting off at the crucial point of arranging new delivery. You can't speak to anyone. The tracking info is four days out of date. They delivered to the wrong door leaving the contact delivery card on the floor outside the house.... Just the worst service ever”
“1. Missed parcel. HOW?!?!?! I was home all day! I got a big wide window in the living room with my son playing all day with the tv on. I didnt hear the door bell nor anyone knock in the door!
2. I have asked to redeliver tuesday. I phoned this morning and said its left the depot already and it was made clear to me that it will be deliver today, i was in my living room since 7am and phoned them at 3:30 to say what time it will arrive, then i was told its in the depot waiting for me to collect. I have been waiting in my living room for over 8 hours just for them to tell me later on that my parcel was also waiting for me in the depot. This company needs shutting down”
“DHL refuses to speak to me about a parcel that was going to be delivered to my house from my amazon account as the name on the bill was Crystal Cottage the name of my house, they said that because my name wasn’t on the bill they would t speak to me so therefore I can’t help, they need to speak to Crystal Cottage 😂”
“I’ve had three deliveries from DHL in the last month from overseas and one UK. All have either gone to the wrong address or failed to turn up on the promised day. Ridiculous a parcel can get half way round the world and then can’t make a 15 minute trip correctly. Cost a fortune in time of work and probably spent around 4/5 hours on the phone at 7p a minute!!”
“Horrible company, when all goes well the delivery is very fast, but when there is a problem get ready to lose your stuff.
I've sent 8 packages from London to Lisbon and IPostParcel, DHL, Deutschepost our whatever these thieves are called managed to lose 6 of those packages.
The packages size: 60cm/50cm/40cm and 25KG!!! How can one lose a single package like this? And these chaps managed to lose 6.
Their tracking system is useless, the people that work at Ipostparcel are useless as well they can't help at all.
I went myself to the local depot and no one was able to help, it's impossible to contact the German warehouse was they don't even try to speak english and more than 2 months have passed and still no one knows about the packages.
I've lost around 100h calling them, texting them, chatting with them and nothing.
Btw, to make this even funnier the 2 packages that arrived 1 was completely broken, and I wrapped everything well with bubble wrap and all that.
Avoid this company, stop giving them money, these guys are rubbish.”
“Avoid at any costs!!!!
Nobody is doing any work there,3 attempts to deliver to a wrong address and nobody updated what i told them. unbelievable service from one of the biggest in Europe!!!!!”
“Wow! After spending 3 hours yesterday trying to get my 'next-day service' parcel delivered today (Saturday), they finally agreed to upgrade it to a Saturday delivery... But guess what? They messed up again! According to their system, the driver has been unable to gain access?!?!?! The 'Tour-De-Yorkshire' passed through Whitby today and some roads in the town were closed but ALL routes into Whitby were open and several options to get to my address were available... I will NEVER use this excuse of a company again. They have cost me a lot of money and legal action is being considered for breach of contract.”
“Absolute garbage! Practically impossible to speak to somebody and when you do, the goon cuts you off. ZERO customer service facilities here in the UK. Worst service I've ever received.”
“I truly wish I could leave negative stars... DHL have been absolutely horrendous - a bridesmaid's dress was sent to me from the U.S, they twice scheduled the delivery for which I took two days off work and never came. When I FINALLY manage to get ahold of someone, I'm told that I should have known that I needed to pay VAT and that they hadn't actually sent someone out with the package... I paid the VAT. So their total disregard for the value of my time meant I changed the delivery address to my work address. After a few days, I contact them again to ask why it says my package has been delivered when it hasn't - they say it has a new tracking number (no one had reached out to let me know) then they 'attempt' to drop it off and I, the recipient, have apparently refused delivery... I cannot stress enough how terribly DHL has been. I have not set eyes on this package nor have they attempted to deliver it - the package arrived in the U.K on April 17th and it is now two weeks later. Will I even get it before the wedding?? (In a few months!!)”
“A text to say delivery 14.15-15.15. Nothing by 17.10 so pop out and return to a card, returned to depot 17.18.
Can't get a next day, Saturday delivery, can't talk to anyone just automated and do they care? Judging by the reviews here and elsewhere, not at all.
The delivery was from Apple so I will be writing to them shortly.”
“The worst of the delivery companies. They have tracking information but it isn't accurate and not kept up to date. A package from Ireland will take 7 days (haven't had it yet) - I took a day off work to sign for it so that I had it available for over Easter. It never arrived. Customer service is unhelpful. So frustrating.”
“DHL attempted to deliver my package to the wrong house (3 miles away) nearly a week ago. Having said it would be redelivered several times this week it is still apparently at the distribution centre with a "delayed" status. I have sent numerous emails and Facebook messages (because it is impossible to speak directly by telephone to anyone at DHL). I have had no reply or explanation from DHL. This is very unprofessional.”
