“Am 120 miles from home, my keys and handbag got locked in the car, it is now 10,45, I phoned at 6.00pm. Someone rang to say they would be here in an hour, I had to make several calls, once the person put the phone down. I am 80, disabled, pain killers in my bag in the car. crutches also in the car. At last Anya was helpful and delightful, but sadly they sent the patrol man she had arranged somewhere else. Last phone call she is sending a local garage. They will be ninety minutes. I am absolutely horrified at the service. Never has the Racbeen more than 40minutes. Thank goodness I was not on the side of the road or by now I could very well be dead.”

“Hi i wish to thank RAC for rescuing us while on Holiday 90 miles from our home . They were absolutely brilliant. My husband is disabled he couldnt get up in the lorry that was taking us home . They put taxi on one that he can get in and took us all the way home. Bought our car back on the lorry .and put it out side our back door. We was so happy will stick with them . Kind regards to RAC .”

“Dont deserve any stars. Called them 28 October 240 they said 2 hours or little more, maybe less. 2hour 30min call again remind them 2 children in car and we was in a dangerous place, ok wont be much longer hour later called again to say it's dark car battery flat no light in danger road cars speeding almost missing car really bad road they then said they only received call 5 oclock so would have to wait 2 hours we said we have calls logged on phone, also said we called police to prevent a accident waiting to happen. RAC then called a local company to help out that came about hour later he wasn't told the problem so had to go and get another truck to put car on. So definitely not going to pay a fortune for rubbish service again”

“My sister took my 86 yr old mother for cancer treatment on 26 Oct 2021… they called the RAC for breakdown help at about 430pm ….they were told a wait of about an hour.. several calls later they were then told at around 10pm to get a taxi home.. which was over an hours drive.. I am livid!!!! RAC left my mother.. after receiving cancer treatment that afternoon… to sit around for over 5 hours when she should have been home recovering ! My advice…. Stay away from the RAC!”

“My wife’s car broke down and the level of support which she received was inadequate. On initial contact, she was told the wait time would be 2hours, which then was extended multiple times. The rescue service arrived 9hours later! We had children waiting to be picked up for school, one of which has a disability. Utterly disappointed with the level of service and lack of professionalism.”

“Told them about my breakdown and what was needed to get my motorbike back on the road (M6 bolt). Told me it would be up to 2 hours and they'd update me by text. Got a single text confirming the delay then nothing else. After 2 hours phoned them again whereupon I was told it would be another 90 minutes. I then cancelled the call out called my son in law who arrived an hour later and 10 minutes after that I was on my way again. Utterly hopeless.”

“Cancelled insurance and the outstanding amount of money I had to pay was informed by junk e-mail with no posts whatsoever. Complete joke these guys. It’s like they’re making a deal with the debt collection agency.”

“I've been sat for 8hrs waiting for recovery and it's an absolute disgrace, just glad my personal breakdown service is with the AA. Wouldn't recommend the RAC if it was the only breakdown service in the uk”

“8h30 min since my husband is wainting on the side of the road. A rescue that was supposed to take place in 2h is still unsolved and every time he is calling them they are telling him that he will have to wait another 40 min. HOW IN THE WORLD IS THAT POSSIBLE??”

“Where do I start?? Rang insurance as car broke down and contractors were RAC,paid £150 as car insurance stated car had to be 0.25 miles away from home..20.34 we reported it,had to wait until 03.15 am that WE contacted them!! only to be told that a rescue agent wouldn't be available until 07.30-08.30 am!! This so called company have no scruples and are a disgrace as a company and should be investigated for fraudulent service.. TOTAL UTTER DISGRACE!!!!!!!!!!! Would rate 0 stars if possible.USELESS!!!!”

“Couldn't praise more highly,broken down,no phone signal,000 through to RAC,sorted pick up, accommodation ,1000km round trip for him, yes we waited hours,had to pay excess and top up,still could not be more grateful, brilliant job RAC and their Geraldton pick up truck guys. Thanks Nikki Max”

“I waited four hours for an outside-contracted assistance vehicle whose driver had been directed first by the RAC to the WRONG ADDRESS. He called me and I told him I'd given the correct car-location address to the RAC. He told me this was the FOURTH job this evening where the RAC had given him the wrong address and would have words with them. He told me, 'The RAC is absolutely &@#-£-+* useless, they haven't got anyone working in the evenings and so they call us up and don't give us the right information!' So I'm wondering if I did right, switching from the AA. Hmmmm. The driver who came out, by the way, was an excellent bloke who got the car started straight away. My low mark is for the RAC, not him. He deserved five stars.”

“My daughter and granddaughter waited 4 hours the other week, now today been waiting so far 3 hours in pitch black car park and they are both scared. You are rubbish RAC”
