I placed an order (as a gift/surprise for a sick co-worker) to be delivered to his home. I placed the order in the morning for delivery around dinner time. I received full confirmation and my credit card was charged. I didn't think I needed to follow-up any further. Much to my horror, 10 minutes prior to the scheduled delivery time, I received an email from DoorDash that my order was cancelled. I called the restaurant directly (since there was no way to contact DoorDash) to find out why my order was cancelled. Apparently, the restaurant listed on their website, does not do take out and has never worked with a delivery service! They were shocked to find out they are listed on the DoorDash website. Seems to me that someone at DoorDash needs to make sure the restaurants listed on their website are ACTUALLY able to do takeout and delivery. I was very embarrassed as this gift to my co-worker was from a group of us so I had to let my mates know that it was a FAILURE!

Placed my order, first time using the service. When it was submitted, it was missing some items on the list. I tried to cancel immediately. The website kept loading and loading and loading. Tried to call to cancel I spent almost a half hour trying to get order cancelled. I just needed to redo the order. The agent I spoke to kept rattling off in some language I did not understand. I gave him my email 6 times, he still could not pull up my order. He kept asking me for an order ID and, he still could not find it. Finally got my account and, said I had no order. kept saying would cancel and, then finally after all the arguing said. He could not. Would not get a supervisor when I asked for one. I had to argue with him and argue with him. Finally got one. I ended up getting on the phone with restaurant and, got the item added that I needed. The supervisor finally got on the phone after being told, they were in a meeting, that they were closed and all sorts of nonsense. He did not cancel it because at that point it was useless. However, I just wanted the agent coached but, the supervisor was very nice. He did offer 10.00 off. That was not necessary but, I do not think I will use this again if I have any more issues. Website should work properly and, agents should not argue with you. You need to have language queues and, agents that speak those languages assisting customers. No reason to lie and say you can not get a supervisor or, say you can not find my order if you do not understand me. I will only give door dash 1 more try and, if I get bad service again, I will know that, its not worth using.

Our food arrived late due to changing of dashers. There was no phone number to call to figure out what was taking so long. The food arrived cold. Poor service.

My first order ever and it was incorrect. Apparently, Door Dash People call and make orders for you so the Door Dash person told the restaurant the wrong order. They are trying to fix it by resending the incorrect food but now we have to wait another hour.....

I just started using the service about a week ago. I'm in my late 50's, don't drive, and have circulation problems in my legs that keep me from walking very far, or going up and down stairs. So, I thought I'd give the service a try. When I haven't been able to get to the store, and need to eat, it would be useful. Anyway, the first couple of orders I didn't notice any problems - the restaurants were close to me, and the delivery was fairly quick. But the last food order, DoorDash charged me extra for the food - they padded the food bill quite a bit. The dasher handed me a receipt from the restaurant with the real amounts that he paid for my food - my jaw dropped at the amount. The "real bill" for my food was $11.56, and DoorDash charged me $14.79 for it. Then they proceeded to charge a "service fee" on top of that of $2.66. The delivery fee was normally $5.99 but, I was ordering on a $1 dollar day, so $4.99 was waived. Then I added a tip of a little over 10% of the food cost (the restaurant is less than a mile from me). Long story short, it cost me a total of $20 for $11.56 worth of food, which is ridiculous. And, every time I place an order, I transfer the funds to the balance on my card (I keep most of my funds in my reserve account on AmexServe), with a couple of dollars extra, because they require a "buffer" when they charge your card. Every single time, they take ALL the money that is on the card, sometimes over $2, and I have to wait for the transaction to clear to get that money returned to me. I'm on a restricted budget, so I really can't afford to be overcharged for food, and then pay a fee on top of that. I had hoped this service would be a solution for me but, as soon as the "buffer charge" is returned to my account, I'm closing it. I did not have any trouble with my dasher drivers, only with the way this company conducts their business. The drivers were courteous and on time. It's not their fault the company is scamming people on their food. I can understand charging a flat fee, but not padding the food bill, too. And if a restaurant is less than a mile away from me, I shouldn't be charged a $5.99 delivery fee, either - that's way over the top. The delivery fee should reflect the distance from the restaurant. Especially if the driver is going there from my neighborhood, which has been the case every time, according to the map they provide. The service is a good idea, but they need to make some changes in the way they charge customers, and the amounts of the service fees that are being charged. They should be charging the EXACT AMOUNT of the bill without buffer holds, too.

My order sat at the restaurant for 40 minutes before it was picked up. Food was cold, onion rings was soggy with breading follow off. Called restaurant and was told my order sat there 40 minutes. I did get my order until 1 hour after placing it.

2 out of 5 orders were wrong, I paid for things I didn't get. I'm switching to Grubhub.

Its a great service, but the fees are excessive. Door dash charges a service fee, a fee for your order, a delivery fee, and then an optional tip. Once you realize the fees involved then you're frustrated when you get to the tip section and probably reduce the tip which is unfortunate for the driver, because your being fee'd to death.

They've never messed up my actual food order, but twice now my 'dasher' hasn't shown up. I've received credits and free meals, but no one likes wondering if their food is actually going to show up or not.

Drivers should not get tipped (on app) until after we have an opportunity to review the order. I now prefer Postmates. Those drivers know we check our food prior to tipping. They get the order right. I'd rather have cold food than wrong or missing food. 4 times the driver forgot napkins 2 times, the beverages that should have come with the orders were missing (up to 6 drinks total). 1 time I was missing an entire salad Driver tells us to call the Door Dash for us to resolve Door Dash tells us to call the restaurant to resolve 8 jack & Box tacos with no sauce on them or the packets, I requested extra sauce clearly written. Could eat a single one, The El Pollo Loco App uses Door Dash as their delivery partner. Not Good.. Order is always wrong, they forget to expand the request in their app. Drivers pretend items were not part of the order and I think they just don't read. They get lost and call to ask for directions so the food gets cold. The second star is because they refunded my delivery charge once. I should have gotten a complete refund. I couldn't eat any of the items but the driver still got the tip.

Doordash is a fine business UNLESS you have a problem. Then customer service is nowhere to be found. I order approx. 2-3x a week and twice I had the wrong food delivered. Doordash said they will re-deliver, instead a driver I don't know from first order or redelivery texts me: "your order might be stolen". Ummm wtf does that mean? Eventually, lunch ordered at 1pm, arrived by 4pm.

Food was delivered on time. The order got messed up because door dash person orders for you and there's often miscommunications. Also, ordered a $8.95 chicken wrap and the bill ended up being $19.38 after all the fees.

I have been forced to create multiple logins for Door Dash, as it constantly makes me change my password and locks me out of my account. I attempted to make a large catering order last week and was again unsuccessful in logging in. I called their customer service number, was asked to submit an email of the issue along with a screenshot of the error code I was receiving. After doing so I received no resolution or response to the email. I was forced to pick the order up and deliver it myself. After that experience I will not be using or recommending Door Dash again.

Beyond frustrated with incorrect deliveries. Drivers seem to not check your order so more often than not you will NOT receive all the items your ordered unless the restaurant you order from is 100% correct on everything they do. I've ordered Fish n Chips and only received the Fish - I've ordered the salad/sandwich combo and only received the salad. The more items you order the more errors you are bound to have - I'd stick with orders that are only one item with zero substitutions and perhaps they may get it right. They have you tip prior to receiving your order - I always tip 10$ no matter what - I'm so over the crappy service that when I get desperate enough to order now - I only do the 15% - I may have to lower it to 10%

The driver evidently did not check my order for completeness. I was supposed to have grilled onions on my sandwich, for which I paid extra, along with mayo, lettuce and tomato. I received a dry sandwich. Not impressed eith this service!

what a wonderful service was my first thought, food delivered from good restaurants. Use however is not as wonderful, there is no remedy available when your order is delivered incomplete. 3 times I have not received my entire order, this to the tune of 37 dollars , so far. no drink.no pie.no bread.no pancakes...and there is no recourse available! the driver does not go back, and my credit card has never been credited. I have no choice except to discontinue service with them.

Very inconsistent deliveries. I've had food that was spilled all over itself on the drive over (lid came off the drink too!). The delivery time is almost NEVER accurate. I can always expect my deliver to take an extra 30+ minutes to arrive. I've also had issues with Doordash cancelling my order... which is fine if I choose that option, but they should NOT be cancelling my order 10min after it is supposed to be arriving.

When the system works it is great. Unfortunately when things go bad you are basically just out of luck. For one thing, the "dashers" are independent contractors and DoorDash takes no responsibility for their actions. If the "dasher" takes your order and then decides not to deliver -- too bad. No apologies, just a credit back to your credit card. If you have the option, choose a delivery service that has real drivers employed.

i’ve ordered through doordash many times and always been pleased. my orders were delivered before the time stated. every driver has been friendly, delivered to my door, and courteous. i always tip with cash as i don’t like to put a tip on the order when placing the order just in cases where the driver was rude and did not want to do their job, making me have to go to their car to get my order. at any rate, i’ve been trying to order for over a week now, and when i tried to put in any special requests, it states that the restaurant isn’t taking special requests at this time and doordash apologizes for any inconvenience. at first i thought it was just the restaurant, but when trying other restaurants, the same thing happened. i would think the issue would have been taken care of after a week but it hasn’t. i went to the doordash feedback page and filled out the information. unfortunately it won’t let me submit it. it says all fields need to be filled in. i had filled in the fields as requested but it still doesn’t let me submit. i read other reviews and was surprised at the issues other customers were having as i have had nothing but good service till now. if the issue of not being able to have special requests and the fact that when you try to contact doordash through their feedback page doesn’t get fixed, then they have lost a very good customer, not only for them but also for the restaurants as well. it’s a shame.
