Half of the chiles were rotted and moldy. The box was wet and moldy too. Very disappointed. I spent 40 dollars to put it in the garbage.

I am very disappointed with the Hatch chili order this year! I paid over $47 for a shipment of a $50 order to ensure I received fresh, intact green chilis. That's over 87% of the value of the produce just to ship the product to me. When the box arrived it was wet and leaking. Twenty-seven (27) of the chilis we mushy to the point that I could not roast them. Several others we damaged and had to be trimmed to salvage a portion of the chili. I'll purchase my chilis from elsewhere next season!

I ordered a box as a gift for my daughter. I purchased the fastest delivery method.She opened the box within an hour of arrival. The chiles in the box were a rotten soggy mess so she threw them and the leaking box in the trash. When I asked if she had received her gift a few days later it was too late to take a photo. Of course I called to report the issue and was told there had to be a photo. No photo — no replacement. So how is the recipient of the gift supposed to know to take a picture of the rotten box of chiles? Your representative that I spoke to was intractable. Will you make this right? PS this is not the first year I’ve ordered from your company.

Hi Lannie, It is our company policy to document any spoiled chile before sending a free reshipment. This is simply the best way for us to standardize all fresh order reshipments and prevent our free reshipment policy from being taken advantage of. We hope that you can understand the reasoning behind this. We do include the following texted, bolded, on each deliver notification email "Please let us know if the box was damaged or there is anything wrong with the delivery by replying to this email. If your order arrived spoiled or damaged please snap a few pictures. We take customer service very seriously!" Hi Ty, Heat level is very subjective and varies greatly from person to person. There are instances where people feel like the Mild is far too hot or that the X-Hot has no heat. People's heat tolerance can also change over time as they eat more or less spicy foods. It looks like we upgraded your heat level and sent you another box of chile for free. Not happy this year. My 25 lb box arrived with more than half of the chilies rotten and the rest on their way. First time this has happened. My guess is that they sat on the tarmac somewhere enroute to me. I have always recommended The Hatch Chile Store to friends but I can't this year unfortunately.

Hi Tiane, I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience here. Upon pulling up your order, I noticed that you selected ground shipping. On our shipping page, we clearly state which services we guarantee for fresh chile. You opted for ground, which has a warning that it may spoil in transit. Most customers receive their chile in good condition with ground shipping, so we provide it as an option, but we give that warning about spoilage. There is also a pop-up that customers have to click through, which warns against opting for anything less than 2-Day Air if they are going to order fresh chile for shipment. The temperature in the back of a delivery truck can get up to 120-130 degrees. This causes the chile to shrivel and spoil much quicker than it does when transported in a temperature-controlled airplane. It looks like our customer service team reached out to you via to try and find a resolution. We await your response. Again, I am very sorry to hear that your chile arrived spoiled. Order 25 Ibs of HOT Chilli and received bearly MILD!! Ordered Hatch Chilli many times in the past this was however the WORST experience, batch I received. Very dissatisfied customer...

I loved their product, but no more. I received the wrong order, and when I let them know, they asked for a photo for “ quality control.” I told them I would not do so. I did not make the mistake and would not help. I only wanted my order. Unfortunately, their attitude is not customer friendly. They kept pushing for a photo. I ended my association with them.

Hi Michael, I'm so sorry that you didn't receive the correct items! Our packing team does their best to get each order right, but they are still susceptible to human error. Per company policy, we do require the customer to submit a photo of the incorrect item before setting up a free reshipment. You'll find that the vast majority of online retailers have a similar policy to prevent fraud and improve operations. First I’d like to start out by saying I order a few things from hatch chili store and most of them have been exceptional especially the roasted chilies and all the chili’s really. But I ordered tamales, the green chili and cheese and I ordered the Chile rellenos. Both came with ice inside the bags they had frost bite and I was truly shocked because that’s just not like them. We cook them anyway and they did taste like they were frozen for a very very long time like over a year. I don’t know what happened it was truly unexpected for them since everything else I’ve ever ordered has been like I say exceptional. I was so disappointed. We threw out the rest which broke my heart because not only do I love these products but you pay a good price. Not sure I will try again.

Ordered my product on November 26 2021 and paid for three day shipping. It’s now December 11 2021 and my order hasn’t even been shipped. Received a notice on the 26th of November that it was shipped but found out a week later the item was on back order and could take another two weeks. There online store didn’t show out of stock like other items but after reviewing their website buyers must scroll down to past the order section to find a notice they are two weeks behind. One would think it would be on the homepage or on the items itself.

I ordered some Medium Chopped on 10/29. The web site some weeks later said they had been fufilled, I received a email message that they were being shipped around 11/15, I called on 11/29 only to find out they werenow out of stock. This company does not know what they are doing as I have had issues in the past with them. AVOID the headache, order elsewere.
