STAY AWAY!!!!! I purchased a Dyson fan today instore but I was told instore and via phonecall that the price increased by £10 and then further £20-30, just because of the weather , despite it being advertised on there web page as a cheaper price, when I quizzed the sales person instore Lee Shannon who quoted 'if the price is for example £300 at time of purchase online and I purchase but should the price increase by £50 at time of despatch meaning AD would take payment for £350 and not what I've contractually paid as per original price!!!! WHAT A CROCH OF BULL!!! I made it clear to the sales rep that this action is deceiving and a con, to this he replied 'all the online companies do it, it's in the terms and conditions small print'. Anyway I purchased the item with my credit card to which they charge a 5% surcharge . Anyway when I got home to register the product with Dyson via the product serial number which is non existent . I phone DYSON who inform me the product is not even UK based, therefore no warranty and is basically an EU item meaning different specs!!! APPLIANCES DIRECT/laptops DIRECT/TVs DIRECT STAY AWAY LIKE THE PLAGUE .. The business is a con!!! MY FINDINGS WILL ALSO BE DISCLOSED TO THE APPROPRIATE CONSUMER GROUPS. Appalling !!!

Appliance description was not specific enough. Once i received my order I needed to return it. I URGENTLY needed a fridge. No one would respond to my emails (which i was instructed to do when called) and after being on hold for 10 minutes several times the phone would just cut out and i could not get through to any one. NEVER ordering through them again as their customer service is absolute rubbish and is now making me look bad at my job.

I paid premium for a Saturday delivery. Got an email stating 'Your estimated delivery time frame is between 06:35-08:35... You will be called approximately 30 minutes prior to delivery and we will aim to keep you updated, if for some reason, the delivery team are running late. 20.00. No goods delivered. No phone call. no email update. Earlier in the day I had phoned their office. A recorded message stated that if orders were late their office computer systems would not show where they were during the day, and gave the instruction to call to report a late delivery only after 20.00pm. So 20.02 I called, and got the recorded message 'our office is now closed.' How convenient!

Having purchased a washing machine for next day delivery online, I noticed the next day that it still said on tracking "awaiting depatch" . I called and spoke to Dinesha, she confirmed machine enroute !!! At 5 pm no machine , so I called back again and spoke to a lovely girl called Naomi. Naomi was concerned that firstly , Dinesha had placed in her notes that delivery was for the 27th(a week away) and Dinesha had confirmed to myself id get it today .... Dinesha lied to me!! so i spoke to , an appropriate name, ASSIF! laid back, lethargic, uninterested , dull thats exactly how ASSIF sounded..... order cancelled complete waste of time ...back to good old reliable appliance online .... your management team should sack them both

Staff are clearly either incentivised or bullied (and I am not sure which is worse) into toeing the party line - they were so horrible to deal with, even the "supervisors" and so-called "managers" . My story...I ordered an air conditioner, and having searched many sites and models chose a vented model Electriq model AC9000E for the sole reason that it came with a "window fitting" as I was keen to minimise my electricty costs (of cooling additional hot air coming in through an open window whilst the air conditioner was on) The appliance arrived, but the window fitting WAS ONLY SUITABLE FOR SASH OR SLIDING WINDOWS!!! This was NOT in the product description so wanted to return it as "not fit for purpose". However when I rang to find out how I get this 25kg item back to the company for a refund I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE CLASSED AS "UNWANTED" AND THEREFORE RETURN SHIPPING COSTS WOULD BE AT MY EXPENSE. I argued that their product description gave no indication of the very limited window types that this was suitable for (and now wait for this....) they said it was "CLEARLY STATED IN THE USER MANUAL THAT THIS FITTED ONLY SASH AND SLIDING WINDOWS" and that I SHOULD HAVE READ THE USER MANUAL BEFORE PURCHASE!!! Who reads a 13 page USER MANUAL BEFORE buying a simple air conditioner?!?!? They said they would collect the item for £20 fee, I refused - and spent several days and at least 3 hours on the phone with them trying to resolve this - for me it was a point of principle - but this company is so badly run that they could not work out that 3 hours of their staff on the phone talking to me (along with the bad press I will post here and every chance I get) was worth far more than the £20 collection fee. In the end I sent it back at my own cost (£11 via UPS ) and have since received the refund for the cost of the item (not delivery or return costs) NEVER EVER AGAIN SHALL I DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY - STAY AWAY!

Very poor service, pray you don't have to return anything that's faulty, horrendous company to deal with, bought a very expensive TV from this shower of a company, had it returned as it was marked and still no response after almost two weeks. My advise, go to currys/pcworld and pay the extra as this company has no customer skills. Don't say you weren't told lol.

Firstly ordered a TV stand, the delivery guy dropped it and damaged it badly appliances direct where helpful at first.. The pick up of the damaged unit was a nightmare one guy they sent to collect it it was a massive box so he left it, delivery got arranged for the next day but that night another guy came to collect it again one person I ended up having to help him carry it, then the next day 2 delivery men turned up expecting to get the unit, phoned appliances direct to see what was going on very unhelpful no one phoned me back I have been chasing this for over a week still no unit, then got an email to say one had been dispatched but 5 days later no unit and got another message saying they don't have any of the TV unit I had ordered left can I take an ex display model... so now at 2 weeks no unit and without a few hundred pound and no one phones u back to tell me what's happening... My experience has been terrible and I will never buy anything again from appliances direct !!!!

Item was sent to wrong address ???, very slow to answer emails. Promised a return phone call which didnt happen. Asked for a delivery date and all they say is that it is in the hands of their supplier, who that is I dont know. I will avoid these people at all costs as they only farm out orders to someone else and then dirvorce themselves from any responsibility to the customer. Also if you pay with PayPal they add a surcharge to the invoice.

Appalling company. Don't touch them with a bargepole. I paid £15 for nominated day delivery and the cooker hood didn't arrive. When it did, the following day, no-one was in to receive it (surprise). Finally had it delivered on a day when I could receive it. Box was was badly damaged and resealed with extra tape. Cooker hood was dented. They refused to arrange a return unless I sent photots. My iPhone was playing up and I couldn't get photos sent to my laptop. Have just received a "Your refund has been refused" email. Can't believe they have the right to do this, so will be contacting Trading Standards and the Small Claims Court.

Awful service! Was suppose to have my washing machine delivered on Friday, and no one showed up, no updates, nothing. Was rescheduled till Wednesday, and hardly any information. When they showed up, they didn't have any tools to take away the old one and connect new one!! And said they will need to come back another day They are quick to charge you and sell you all extra, but lacking service in every departments.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! If you receive a damaged item (which seems likely based on other reviews posted here) they will do everything possible to avoid giving you a refund. After receiving a damaged cooker all of my emails were met with a short, grammatically poor, rude reply refusing to help. They have even accused me of damaging the cooker myself. Absolutely terrible, easily the worst company I have ever had to deal with.

Please do not use this company. I bought a cooker hood which arrived damanged. I reported the damage within their 5 day rule via their unreliable eMessage system which seemed to send but was but was apparently lost in their system. When I called to chase a week later, they refused to replace or refund the item because I was out of time. To make matters worse, their customer service is atrocious and the line from their staff is, 'it's not our problem because you reported it outside the 5 days'. They are refusing to take any responsibility saying that they are perfectly within their rights to refuse to help. They are very rude and haven't even tried to find another solution or investigate my lost message. I have written to them twice but just get standard messages back from them via the eMessage system. Now battling through Trading Standards and small claims court and have a huge, expensive, broken cooker hood sitting in my spare room. Awful company, awful, rude staff.

Bought appliances from them for two kitchens. Second time they werent able to provide one appliance and another was seriously damaged. Apparently I told them too late (7 days after purchase because not able to lift heavy appliance out of packaging until kitchen fitters returned). Appliances direct quoted their small print, refused to help in any way and just said sue us. I dont have the time to get involved in a court case but will say this - never buy from them, you are better off going to any other retailer rather than risking dealing with them.

Disappointing and inefficient service, I would never use them again. We have ordered a washing machine from this company. The delivery team was brusk and unfriendly to my wife, they have damaged our flooring and despite having paid for an installation they have not done it. Worst of all the machine is faulty and despite claiming on their website that: "Our flexible no fuss policy for dealing with faulty goods is intended to ensure you get the fastest resolution possible and minimise the time you are without a working item" I have first to wait for and AEG engineer to come next week to have a look at the device before any further steps can be taken. That leaves us without a working washing machine for at least 10 days.

Shocking...I paid for next day delivery but shockingly the sent the wrong colour fridge freezer...why they have people that are not checking these things is beyond me. I'm quite forgiving but not when I pay extra to get my item next day & the company sends out the wrong colour...a very stupid mistake!!

Wouldn't even give one star. Worst customer service ever. Needed to swap a damaged fridge. It took 5 attempts due to them turning up just to collect the damaged item with no replacement or turning up with the replacement and wouldn't take the damaged item. Then with no prior warning turned up at 8 pm on a saturday evening, despite being promised a callback from a manager. Steer clear. Absolutely awful

Warning! Read this review before you buy! I have always been a big fan of irobot products. I have a Roomba a Bravaa and now a Scooba 450. The Roomba and Bravaa perform excellently and now I would struggle to live without them, they are part of my daily top up cleaning routine. I ordered the Scooba 450 direct from Appliances Direct in November last year. It was shown as being in stock and available for next day delivery.. So I went ahead and ordered. After ordering I got an email advising me of a new delivery date, which although frustrating I accepted. As we approached this new delivery date Appliances Direct would send another email advising of a new delivery date. This went on for over a month..!! Eventually the machine was despatched on December 23rd, several weeks after I had ordered the scooba. Appliances direct customer services are shocking and all they kept saying is we are awaiting stock and it will be despatched on a next day delivery: however that day took several weeks to come! They dispatched the scooba via city link who then went into administration on Xmas eve. While I agree this may not have been appliances direct fault, I didn't help my customer experience as my Bought and paid for scooba was now lost in a courier companies warehouse and was not going to be delivered to my home address! I ended up making several phone calls and travelling to city link depots before I eventually located the scooba at a depot and was able to collect it on December 29th.. Over 6wks after my order. Appliances direct couldn't give a stuff and just didn't want to help..! So finally I had the scooba and was looking forward to setting it up and trying it out. The device itself is nice looking and not dissimilar from my scooba hover. Unfortunately that's where the similarities ended. My scooba missed large sections of my living room floor, and the sections it did manage to clean were left saturated with water. It just didn't function as expected. I contacted iRobot who as usual we FANTASTIC, they have an amazing customer service record and really do care and try to help you as much as possible. After several calls, sending them videos and photos they agreed that my scooba must be faulty and sent me a service model replacement, which is the basic device minus the battery and charger etc. Fantastic I thought, but unfortunately the problem of missing large areas of my room and not sucking up water stil existed. I then spoke to IRobot again who advised to return the scooba to appliance direct and get a replacement. I did this, at first appliances direct wanted to charge me for the return of the product, only backing down when I advised them I was told by iRobot to return it. So I returned the scooba and several days later Appliances Direct emailed me stating they had tested the robot and it worked fine, therefore they would not refund or replace it. They told me they were going to charge my credit card £30 for the privilege of them testing the scooba and for the return postage. I refused to accept this and told them that irobot had even said the machine did not function as it was intended. Appliances direct argued and just didn't seem interested in listening to me. I told them to speak to irobot and confirm what I had been told. They did this, but not quickly! They then emailed me advising me that because irobot had sent me a service robot that they were not willing to refund me or send back the original scooba. They just refused any help or assistance and effectively held me to ransom! They had my £600 scooba and refused to refund or return it to me! I spoke with irobot who again were fantastic. They even contacted Appliances direct on my behalf. But still appliances direct were not interested. Insisting they would not refund or return the original scooba. IRobot contacted me advising me that they had released a software update for the scooba which should correct the problems I was experiencing. Because of their fantastic customer support I was happy to try this and asked appliances direct to return my original scooba so I could perform the software update. Appliances direct again refused, only offering to send back the battery and charger!! How dare they.. I purchased a full retail product, box, device, battery, charger and virtual wall.. But all Appliance direct wanted to return was the original battery and charger! They were rude and dismissive.. An absolutely disgraceful retailer who clearly wouldn't know customer service if it bit them in the backside! I was left with little choice but to contact my solicitor and put a claim in under section 75 of the consumer credit act, and the sale of goods act. My solicitor also advised me that Appliances Direct were breaching the law by withholding my purchased retail goods. Appliances direct were basically saying because I had received a service robot then they did not have to return the original too me! There answer was either give us the service robot And get your one back or keep the service robot and we keep the retail one! Even Irobot disagreed with this when I offered to send the service robot back to them (there was no was I was going to give it to appliances direct as it had nothing to do with that company) Appliances direct still refused to budge! Again their rudeness, lack of support and compassion was something I had NEVER previously experienced from a retailer! Only this week after this saga going on for over a month did appliances direct back down, and that is only because the credit company told them they are breaching the law and must return the original retail product that I had purchased and paid for! I performed the software update, and whilst the problem is not completely sorted it is better at the cleaning than it previously was. IRobot are continuing to offer me additional support to deal with the problem and I can not stress enough how excellent IRobots customer support is. In a nut shell if you are going to buy this product, my advice would be to buy direct from IROBOT. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM APPLIANCES DIRECT.. Once they have your money they are not interested and will offer you no support or assistance if you experience any problems. You have been warned! Anyone who purchases anything from this company is mad! Get the scooba - yes.. Just be aware it's not perfect even with the software update Buy it from this seller? NO! Please trust me Appliances direct in my opinion should not be trading! They are bullies and do not care about their customers at all!!!!

DO NOT SHOP WITH THIS COMPANY - £175 down the drain! Bought a sink from Appliances Direct. After opening the delivery to be fitted, I found that the sink was snapped in half! I found upon ringing their customer service line, they said that because I hadn't discovered the fault with the 5 DAY time limit specified in their returns policy (I ordered this just before Christmas), I wasn't eligible for a replacement! Now it looks like I may have to take this to an ombudsmen service or even court. I don't know why they make this so difficult, worst purchase I've ever made!
