NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! If you receive a damaged item (which seems likely based on other reviews posted here) they will do everything possible to avoid giving you a refund. After receiving a damaged cooker all of my emails were met with a short, grammatically poor, rude reply refusing to help. They have even accused me of damaging the cooker myself. Absolutely terrible, easily the worst company I have ever had to deal with.

Please do not use this company. I bought a cooker hood which arrived damanged. I reported the damage within their 5 day rule via their unreliable eMessage system which seemed to send but was but was apparently lost in their system. When I called to chase a week later, they refused to replace or refund the item because I was out of time. To make matters worse, their customer service is atrocious and the line from their staff is, 'it's not our problem because you reported it outside the 5 days'. They are refusing to take any responsibility saying that they are perfectly within their rights to refuse to help. They are very rude and haven't even tried to find another solution or investigate my lost message. I have written to them twice but just get standard messages back from them via the eMessage system. Now battling through Trading Standards and small claims court and have a huge, expensive, broken cooker hood sitting in my spare room. Awful company, awful, rude staff.

Bought appliances from them for two kitchens. Second time they werent able to provide one appliance and another was seriously damaged. Apparently I told them too late (7 days after purchase because not able to lift heavy appliance out of packaging until kitchen fitters returned). Appliances direct quoted their small print, refused to help in any way and just said sue us. I dont have the time to get involved in a court case but will say this - never buy from them, you are better off going to any other retailer rather than risking dealing with them.

Disappointing and inefficient service, I would never use them again. We have ordered a washing machine from this company. The delivery team was brusk and unfriendly to my wife, they have damaged our flooring and despite having paid for an installation they have not done it. Worst of all the machine is faulty and despite claiming on their website that: "Our flexible no fuss policy for dealing with faulty goods is intended to ensure you get the fastest resolution possible and minimise the time you are without a working item" I have first to wait for and AEG engineer to come next week to have a look at the device before any further steps can be taken. That leaves us without a working washing machine for at least 10 days.

Shocking...I paid for next day delivery but shockingly the sent the wrong colour fridge freezer...why they have people that are not checking these things is beyond me. I'm quite forgiving but not when I pay extra to get my item next day & the company sends out the wrong colour...a very stupid mistake!!

Wouldn't even give one star. Worst customer service ever. Needed to swap a damaged fridge. It took 5 attempts due to them turning up just to collect the damaged item with no replacement or turning up with the replacement and wouldn't take the damaged item. Then with no prior warning turned up at 8 pm on a saturday evening, despite being promised a callback from a manager. Steer clear. Absolutely awful

Warning! Read this review before you buy! I have always been a big fan of irobot products. I have a Roomba a Bravaa and now a Scooba 450. The Roomba and Bravaa perform excellently and now I would struggle to live without them, they are part of my daily top up cleaning routine. I ordered the Scooba 450 direct from Appliances Direct in November last year. It was shown as being in stock and available for next day delivery.. So I went ahead and ordered. After ordering I got an email advising me of a new delivery date, which although frustrating I accepted. As we approached this new delivery date Appliances Direct would send another email advising of a new delivery date. This went on for over a month..!! Eventually the machine was despatched on December 23rd, several weeks after I had ordered the scooba. Appliances direct customer services are shocking and all they kept saying is we are awaiting stock and it will be despatched on a next day delivery: however that day took several weeks to come! They dispatched the scooba via city link who then went into administration on Xmas eve. While I agree this may not have been appliances direct fault, I didn't help my customer experience as my Bought and paid for scooba was now lost in a courier companies warehouse and was not going to be delivered to my home address! I ended up making several phone calls and travelling to city link depots before I eventually located the scooba at a depot and was able to collect it on December 29th.. Over 6wks after my order. Appliances direct couldn't give a stuff and just didn't want to help..! So finally I had the scooba and was looking forward to setting it up and trying it out. The device itself is nice looking and not dissimilar from my scooba hover. Unfortunately that's where the similarities ended. My scooba missed large sections of my living room floor, and the sections it did manage to clean were left saturated with water. It just didn't function as expected. I contacted iRobot who as usual we FANTASTIC, they have an amazing customer service record and really do care and try to help you as much as possible. After several calls, sending them videos and photos they agreed that my scooba must be faulty and sent me a service model replacement, which is the basic device minus the battery and charger etc. Fantastic I thought, but unfortunately the problem of missing large areas of my room and not sucking up water stil existed. I then spoke to IRobot again who advised to return the scooba to appliance direct and get a replacement. I did this, at first appliances direct wanted to charge me for the return of the product, only backing down when I advised them I was told by iRobot to return it. So I returned the scooba and several days later Appliances Direct emailed me stating they had tested the robot and it worked fine, therefore they would not refund or replace it. They told me they were going to charge my credit card £30 for the privilege of them testing the scooba and for the return postage. I refused to accept this and told them that irobot had even said the machine did not function as it was intended. Appliances direct argued and just didn't seem interested in listening to me. I told them to speak to irobot and confirm what I had been told. They did this, but not quickly! They then emailed me advising me that because irobot had sent me a service robot that they were not willing to refund me or send back the original scooba. They just refused any help or assistance and effectively held me to ransom! They had my £600 scooba and refused to refund or return it to me! I spoke with irobot who again were fantastic. They even contacted Appliances direct on my behalf. But still appliances direct were not interested. Insisting they would not refund or return the original scooba. IRobot contacted me advising me that they had released a software update for the scooba which should correct the problems I was experiencing. Because of their fantastic customer support I was happy to try this and asked appliances direct to return my original scooba so I could perform the software update. Appliances direct again refused, only offering to send back the battery and charger!! How dare they.. I purchased a full retail product, box, device, battery, charger and virtual wall.. But all Appliance direct wanted to return was the original battery and charger! They were rude and dismissive.. An absolutely disgraceful retailer who clearly wouldn't know customer service if it bit them in the backside! I was left with little choice but to contact my solicitor and put a claim in under section 75 of the consumer credit act, and the sale of goods act. My solicitor also advised me that Appliances Direct were breaching the law by withholding my purchased retail goods. Appliances direct were basically saying because I had received a service robot then they did not have to return the original too me! There answer was either give us the service robot And get your one back or keep the service robot and we keep the retail one! Even Irobot disagreed with this when I offered to send the service robot back to them (there was no was I was going to give it to appliances direct as it had nothing to do with that company) Appliances direct still refused to budge! Again their rudeness, lack of support and compassion was something I had NEVER previously experienced from a retailer! Only this week after this saga going on for over a month did appliances direct back down, and that is only because the credit company told them they are breaching the law and must return the original retail product that I had purchased and paid for! I performed the software update, and whilst the problem is not completely sorted it is better at the cleaning than it previously was. IRobot are continuing to offer me additional support to deal with the problem and I can not stress enough how excellent IRobots customer support is. In a nut shell if you are going to buy this product, my advice would be to buy direct from IROBOT. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM APPLIANCES DIRECT.. Once they have your money they are not interested and will offer you no support or assistance if you experience any problems. You have been warned! Anyone who purchases anything from this company is mad! Get the scooba - yes.. Just be aware it's not perfect even with the software update Buy it from this seller? NO! Please trust me Appliances direct in my opinion should not be trading! They are bullies and do not care about their customers at all!!!!

DO NOT SHOP WITH THIS COMPANY - £175 down the drain! Bought a sink from Appliances Direct. After opening the delivery to be fitted, I found that the sink was snapped in half! I found upon ringing their customer service line, they said that because I hadn't discovered the fault with the 5 DAY time limit specified in their returns policy (I ordered this just before Christmas), I wasn't eligible for a replacement! Now it looks like I may have to take this to an ombudsmen service or even court. I don't know why they make this so difficult, worst purchase I've ever made!

Ordered a washing through this company as was the only company that could deliver on the Wednesday I was off work. Wednesday came and I got a call from a customer service rep informing me that she forgot to allocate the item for delivery to me on that day! I did say that it was her problem and she should sort it out as I'd already taken a days leave, she then hung up on me. I called customer services (number 3 on the automated system) to be told that they only deal with laptops and PC 's. She attempted to put me through to a different customer service team but I waS again cut off. I dialled again this time opting for number 2 on the system. I was informed that the item would be delivered on Thursday instead. I did ask that It be delivered after 5.30pm as I had already wasted a days leave and couldn't take another day off at short notice, after much quibbling and persistence on my part, the customer service rep said that she would personally track the delivery and contact the drivers to make sure it was delivered after 5.30, she assured me that this would happen and that I would get a call from the drivers 30 minutes before delivery. This didn't happen, when I got home on Thursday at 5.20 they had attempted delivery at 3.09. I called the delivery company who informed me that they have a 2/3 day re-delivery turnaround. Appliances Direct are very quick to take your money even before item has been sent for delivery. I am still without my purchased item and am £365.00 down! I don't recommend them at all, purchase from Appliances Direct with extreme caution! I will be raising a dispute with the company and seeking compensation for wasted annual leave and breach of contract.

Bought an item for my dad for Xmas on the 15th, arrived on the 22nd before I went away on a holiday. Returns on the 4th Jan and was told it was not right for him and asked me to send it back. I looked online and saw a returns request asking for details like the serial number etc, so iMessaged the company and had a reply and a link saying to fill out a form. I assumed it was the same one and with having no details with me, had to get the paper work from my home to fill this out. Two days later I did the form and had it rejected. Messaged the company again asking why, but never heard back from them. Called them today explaining the reasons why it was a couple of days over their 14 day returns quota, explaining why I was returning the item and why, but was told that I can't return the item. I realise they have their terms and conditions for reasons, but it Seems silly over two days that they would rather keep a sale rather than help someone whom might have used them again in the future. I run a business and you sometimes need to be a little relaxed in business. I will now be telling friends and family of how unfair they are. Say I purchased the item on Black Friday for my dad at Xmas. With the 14 days I would have been screwed. How are you meant to shop at a company like this for presents when you get treated so harshly. Will not be using them again.

Such an unprofessional service! Do not buy anything from this company!! 'Appliances direct' - use contractors and sub contractors - nothing direct about them!! They charge inflated prices for installation / recycling of old appliance(s) and delivery!! Two months after original order, I'm still waiting for my appliance! Customer service department don't deal with enquiries effectively, say they'll return call, never do and it's up to you to call and chase (as well as being charged for the call)! Products may seem to be a few pounds cheaper on this website, but believe me, there is no bargain as they have an add on cost for just about everything! I look forward to writing my experience on every Review site possible to ensure customers or potential customers know exactly what to expect!

I ordered a fridge freezer and had a delivery time booked. It was by chance that I saw the money had been put back nin my account. I called the company (on their premium rate phone line) to be told that they could not honour the order. I had not received a single call or email to tell me this and so if I had not checked my account and called them I would have waited in all day for something that was never going to arrive. Very poor customer service.

I ordered a wine fridge from Appliances Direct because they said that they could deliver and collect the old fridge before Christmas. After they had confirmed the order and taken my money they advised that they would not deliver to the first floor and would not collect from the first floor but would only deliver and collect from the street door! The person who called to advise me really couldn't care that this was poor service. Sure enough they only delivered the fridge to the front door and no further. They do not have their own delivery staff but contract it out to third party couriers who have one man handling a fridge. Unsurprisingly, my fridge was dropped and has a big dent on the one corner. They never collected the old fridge because on the morning of 24th December they emailed to say that their contractor was not working and that they would reschedule for another date. That leaves the old fridge standing in my hallway all through Christmas! This is one company that I will never use again.

Don't touch this outfit with a barge pole. The take your money, knowing that they can't meet their obligations, and then pretend they are not liable. I ordered a fridge-freezer, specifically choosing a model which was shown on the website as being available as opposed to out-of-stock. I place the order by phone, confirmed with the agent that the item could be delivered on the following Saturday, and paid a £25 Saturday delivery charge. When I called to check why the item had not been delivered, I was told that there were manufacturing difficulties and the appliance was not currently available. I told the agent that her pre-sales colleague had confirmed that the item was available for delivery on the agreed date. "Ah, no." she said. "Available means available to order." So how is that different from the items shown as not being in stock? She couldn't give me a satisfactory answer. I then requested that the £25 Saturday delivery fee be refunded. She said that appliances direct do not give refunds in cases where there is a manufacturing problem. Seriously? I pointed out that my contract was with appliances direct, not with the manufacturer, but she stuck to her script about how all this was made clear in the small print. I'm not sure this behaviour is legal. I will be submitting this case to Trading Standards.

An order was placed with this dubious organisation for a pair of Samsung M3 speakers on 02/12/2014 and I was given a delivery date of 18/12/2014 in time for them to be given as Christmas presents. I have on each subsequent day checked the status of the order to see it go through picking, packing, the taking of my payment and finally for the past few days being ready for despatch. This evening the 17/12/2014 I check to confirm who the items had been despatched with only to find that far from being ready to despatch the items are out of stock! I have now got to find a supplier who has the items in stock and is in a position to deliver them before the 20/12/2014 when we will be exchanging family presents.

Bought a Stoves cooker hood; upon installing it, my husband discovered the motor-casing (right inside the flue) was cracked & catching upon the motor. Appliances Direct seem to be blissfully unaware of the Sale of Goods Act in relation to retailer responsibility and have continually referred us to Stoves to get it repaired. Stoves struggle with dates, times & supplying their engineer with the requisite replacement part, having now failed to appear on 3 separate occasions. All 'Customer Services' at Appliances Direct do is contact Stoves, which I have also had to do. Appliances Direct do absolutely nothing to help and appear to have a completely cavalier attitude to both their responsibilities and their customers. This product was sold not fit for purpose, Trading Standards here I come........

Ordered an under counter integrated freezer for my rental property. Decided to pay for it be installed and the old freezer removed for ease and comfort of the tenants. Delivery date changed twice then informed by tenants that it was dumped in the dining room. They apparantly glimpsed into the kitchen and then left!!!! Appliance direct didn't even bother contacting me I had to chase them??? I ended up paying for a call out electrician to connect the freezer. Appliance direct attempted to claim the electrics were faulty and the plinth could not be removed??? The call out electrician laughed and said the electrics were perfect and the plinth fell off. you would think the installation cost would be refunded immediately as this was such a sham but nooooooo.... After a battle they gave me £110 out of the £160 paid saying the rest had been deducted for a call out fee???????? Omg this company should be ashamed of themselves. THEY ARE A HUGE CON....... DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY

My worst ever experience of ordering online. Having ordered a £3200 cooker, £670 dishwasher and £423 cooker hood Appliance Direct changed the original delivery date twice. Eventually managed to get the cooker delivered 3 weeks after order. They then said that the cooker hood could only be delivered a further 5 weeks later but the dishwasher though in stock will need to be delivered with the hood!! They could not split the order. Customer Services were not helpful and refused to let me speak to a manager to see how I could get the delivery issue addressed. They charged me £50 for the delivery on a £4000+. Will NEVER buy from Appliances Direct. J (London)
