Bought an item for my dad for Xmas on the 15th, arrived on the 22nd before I went away on a holiday. Returns on the 4th Jan and was told it was not right for him and asked me to send it back. I looked online and saw a returns request asking for details like the serial number etc, so iMessaged the company and had a reply and a link saying to fill out a form. I assumed it was the same one and with having no details with me, had to get the paper work from my home to fill this out. Two days later I did the form and had it rejected. Messaged the company again asking why, but never heard back from them. Called them today explaining the reasons why it was a couple of days over their 14 day returns quota, explaining why I was returning the item and why, but was told that I can't return the item. I realise they have their terms and conditions for reasons, but it Seems silly over two days that they would rather keep a sale rather than help someone whom might have used them again in the future. I run a business and you sometimes need to be a little relaxed in business. I will now be telling friends and family of how unfair they are. Say I purchased the item on Black Friday for my dad at Xmas. With the 14 days I would have been screwed. How are you meant to shop at a company like this for presents when you get treated so harshly. Will not be using them again.

Such an unprofessional service! Do not buy anything from this company!! 'Appliances direct' - use contractors and sub contractors - nothing direct about them!! They charge inflated prices for installation / recycling of old appliance(s) and delivery!! Two months after original order, I'm still waiting for my appliance! Customer service department don't deal with enquiries effectively, say they'll return call, never do and it's up to you to call and chase (as well as being charged for the call)! Products may seem to be a few pounds cheaper on this website, but believe me, there is no bargain as they have an add on cost for just about everything! I look forward to writing my experience on every Review site possible to ensure customers or potential customers know exactly what to expect!

I ordered a fridge freezer and had a delivery time booked. It was by chance that I saw the money had been put back nin my account. I called the company (on their premium rate phone line) to be told that they could not honour the order. I had not received a single call or email to tell me this and so if I had not checked my account and called them I would have waited in all day for something that was never going to arrive. Very poor customer service.

I ordered a wine fridge from Appliances Direct because they said that they could deliver and collect the old fridge before Christmas. After they had confirmed the order and taken my money they advised that they would not deliver to the first floor and would not collect from the first floor but would only deliver and collect from the street door! The person who called to advise me really couldn't care that this was poor service. Sure enough they only delivered the fridge to the front door and no further. They do not have their own delivery staff but contract it out to third party couriers who have one man handling a fridge. Unsurprisingly, my fridge was dropped and has a big dent on the one corner. They never collected the old fridge because on the morning of 24th December they emailed to say that their contractor was not working and that they would reschedule for another date. That leaves the old fridge standing in my hallway all through Christmas! This is one company that I will never use again.

Don't touch this outfit with a barge pole. The take your money, knowing that they can't meet their obligations, and then pretend they are not liable. I ordered a fridge-freezer, specifically choosing a model which was shown on the website as being available as opposed to out-of-stock. I place the order by phone, confirmed with the agent that the item could be delivered on the following Saturday, and paid a £25 Saturday delivery charge. When I called to check why the item had not been delivered, I was told that there were manufacturing difficulties and the appliance was not currently available. I told the agent that her pre-sales colleague had confirmed that the item was available for delivery on the agreed date. "Ah, no." she said. "Available means available to order." So how is that different from the items shown as not being in stock? She couldn't give me a satisfactory answer. I then requested that the £25 Saturday delivery fee be refunded. She said that appliances direct do not give refunds in cases where there is a manufacturing problem. Seriously? I pointed out that my contract was with appliances direct, not with the manufacturer, but she stuck to her script about how all this was made clear in the small print. I'm not sure this behaviour is legal. I will be submitting this case to Trading Standards.

An order was placed with this dubious organisation for a pair of Samsung M3 speakers on 02/12/2014 and I was given a delivery date of 18/12/2014 in time for them to be given as Christmas presents. I have on each subsequent day checked the status of the order to see it go through picking, packing, the taking of my payment and finally for the past few days being ready for despatch. This evening the 17/12/2014 I check to confirm who the items had been despatched with only to find that far from being ready to despatch the items are out of stock! I have now got to find a supplier who has the items in stock and is in a position to deliver them before the 20/12/2014 when we will be exchanging family presents.

Bought a Stoves cooker hood; upon installing it, my husband discovered the motor-casing (right inside the flue) was cracked & catching upon the motor. Appliances Direct seem to be blissfully unaware of the Sale of Goods Act in relation to retailer responsibility and have continually referred us to Stoves to get it repaired. Stoves struggle with dates, times & supplying their engineer with the requisite replacement part, having now failed to appear on 3 separate occasions. All 'Customer Services' at Appliances Direct do is contact Stoves, which I have also had to do. Appliances Direct do absolutely nothing to help and appear to have a completely cavalier attitude to both their responsibilities and their customers. This product was sold not fit for purpose, Trading Standards here I come........

Ordered an under counter integrated freezer for my rental property. Decided to pay for it be installed and the old freezer removed for ease and comfort of the tenants. Delivery date changed twice then informed by tenants that it was dumped in the dining room. They apparantly glimpsed into the kitchen and then left!!!! Appliance direct didn't even bother contacting me I had to chase them??? I ended up paying for a call out electrician to connect the freezer. Appliance direct attempted to claim the electrics were faulty and the plinth could not be removed??? The call out electrician laughed and said the electrics were perfect and the plinth fell off. you would think the installation cost would be refunded immediately as this was such a sham but nooooooo.... After a battle they gave me £110 out of the £160 paid saying the rest had been deducted for a call out fee???????? Omg this company should be ashamed of themselves. THEY ARE A HUGE CON....... DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY

My worst ever experience of ordering online. Having ordered a £3200 cooker, £670 dishwasher and £423 cooker hood Appliance Direct changed the original delivery date twice. Eventually managed to get the cooker delivered 3 weeks after order. They then said that the cooker hood could only be delivered a further 5 weeks later but the dishwasher though in stock will need to be delivered with the hood!! They could not split the order. Customer Services were not helpful and refused to let me speak to a manager to see how I could get the delivery issue addressed. They charged me £50 for the delivery on a £4000+. Will NEVER buy from Appliances Direct. J (London)
