I decided the cheapest way to get a new mobile phone was to buy one independently of a service provider. So I did... from Appliances Direct - best price and one of the few who supply the colour I wanted. Ironically they offer a discount of £20 if you sign up to Which? on a month's trial. Ironic because they will now be my next port of call to complain! The phone arrived the day after ordering and I began using it the day after that. In less than one month the phone was defective and unusable. No problem, I thought, as the likes of John Lewis and similar REPUTABLE retailers would not hesitate in replacing the faulty product. Not Appliances Direct. The customer service rep told me that I had to contact Samsung to arrange a repair. So, to translate and sum up - "we've supplied you a faulty and unfit for purpose mobile phone that's gone wrong in less than 30 days. Arrange for it to be repaired yourself." Samsung were helpful and arranged a courier to collect my phone the next day quoting up to 5 days for the repair. After a week or do I called them and the part was not available until another week or two. I called after the expected repair date but was told that the part wasn't actually going to be in until another 3 weeks! I'm not going to bash Samsung, as the issue here is the lack of interest from Appliances Direct. I called them to tell them their 'no fuss' way of dealing with faults was inaccurate, that their default stance of referring the early fault to the manufacturer was not ensuring 'i am not without my device for too long' was failing. Initially I was told there was nothing they were willing to do and let's wait another couple of weeks to see if that part came in. I called in again to suggest that somebody got a grip of this issue and acknowledged they were failing in their customer service and support. Maybe that given my phone has now been gone for longer than I had it in the first place, God forbid... just replace the phone. A case was raised but then heard nothing. When I had to chase them again I was told that yes, we are going to replace the phone for you. You just need to pay to send it back to us for us to check the fault. I was told this process would take up to 3 working days. I was later told it takes until the 3rd day. Today, after working day number 6 I called in. A lot of sympathy and understanding from the Service rep who was going to speak to her boss to get things progressed. She is going to call back before 6pm today and it is now 17:35 and the clock is still ticking. The joke is that I just received an email from Appliances Direct saying my goods are booked in for repair and can take up to 28 days!! Now I am considering further action against them as I am beyond angry. Of course you may be lucky if you choose them. Just don't expect customer service if you actually need it. I don't usually listen to the few negative reviews when researching products or retailers. This time I should have noted the overwhelming evidence that Appliances Direct are rubbish. I am not a regular reviewer and only leave reviews for very good or very bad service or quality. Good luck...

we ordered and paid for a fridge freezer on line on 12th August we paid for next day delivery which was £30 because we were going away to wales on the 14th so wanted it before we went,we were then told after ring to see what time it would be there that it wouldn't be delivered until Monday 15th so said they would refund £10 of the delivery charge, this has not happened. The Fridge freezer was delivered on the afternoon of the 18th, we had it fitted on Friday 19th, left it to stand for 4 hours as advised but all it did was make a loud humming noise and didn't get cold at all. We rang on Monday 22nd to inform them that it wasn't working and they told us to ring the manufacturer who would arrange for an engineer to come out and inspect it, the earliest time they could give us for the engineer was 25th August, the engineer came out and said there was no gas in it and it wasn't any good so to ring and tell them at Appliances direct which I did, they said they would have to wait until they had an uplift number before they could do anything, so at this point we are 2 weeks from the original purchase date still with no confirmation of what is to happen next, after ringing several times eventually they agreed to my demand for a refund as i was not satisfied with the way the whole thing had been handled, they said we could have a refund after they collect the fridge freezer which was supposed to be today 30th August, after ringing to find out what time they expected to arrive i was told they wouldn't now be coming until Thursday 1st September and cant give me any idea of what time it will be, i think they are from memory the worst company i have ever bought anything from without a doubt -

I order two £700 worth kitchen appliances. I chose the date of delivery on their website - the 15th. They have changed it twice - to 19th and then to 25th. They didn't want to send at least one item by itself sooner. Customer service wasn't helpful at all!

Purchased a dishwasher from their outlet and took it home. Removed our old broken one to find that its 5cm taller than the one purchased. Immediately drove back to the showroom (same day) to get it exchanged to be later told it cannot be returned but we can but another new one for £510 (The dishwasher has not even been removed from the packaging!). We were advised to adjust the height of the dishwasher & to chop the bottom of our kitchen door off to make it work which no one in their right mind would do. To say i'm discussed at the way we have been treated by this company is an understatement, had this been another high street retailer i am sure they would have exchanged it no problem as its a genuine error and we are now left £400 out of pocket with a dishwasher that is of absolutely no use to us. Its just basic customer care that doesn't exist in this case. Please be aware of this before purchasing from the retail outlet.

I telephoned AD to arrange a return and refund for an additional Vent purchased for an air conditioning unit. The Vent was not required as the Air Con had its own Venting system. Arranged return ,they agreed to accept return and since have fobbed me off. Difficult to contact. Have now sought reclaim via Credit Card Co. Will never use this Company again. Please be warned

Wish I'd seen this website before I purchased! - read for advice I bought an air con unit in July 2016, just at the heat wave was hitting. Unpacked set up, the unit didn't work. Called them the next day to report, I noticed there was polystyrene in it and wondered if I was supposed to take it out. The women was nice said send us pictures I'll get an engineer to review. Emails and pictures went back and forth and still no sign of a replacement or collection 2 1/2 weeks later. *consumer rights state if you have bought an item that is faulty the seller is responsible for collection, if you can prove the item is faulty (I emailed the next day. Kept all emails, sent pictures. Wrote explaining what I did from switch on, to waiting, to smelling burning) then you can have a replacement or refund.* I sent emails with screen shots of consumer rights and that I wanted a refund. They emailed saying they want more pictures. I told them it was packaged up ready to go back. I said I'd tried it again and this time 'I think I got an electric shock', highlight the unit is dangerous. Then they said they were closing my case as I hadn't sent more pictures! I called and recorded my call. They agreed to collect the item. Collection is tomorrow I will be taking pictures of the unit. The instruction booklet and it all packaged up. *citizens advice website states i can ask the bank to get my money back a reverse charge, if they fail to refund* I will get my refund

My washing machine was delivered and unpacked. I checked it over inside and out and then signed to say it was ok. When the delivery men had gone I picked up the manual to read it and found a 6-8 inch crack concealed beneath. Ran after the van, shouting for them to stop but they would not. I contacted Appliances Direct. They have been completely unhelpful and they consider the matter closed. I have been advised that the damage is consistent with a fall from a fork lift and mechanism likely to be faulty as a result. I will never deal with this company again. Why is it not possible to award an even lower rating?

I have been chasing them up for the past 3 months as one of my goods came faulty. They would tell me we will contact our engineer then contact you back. However, no sort of contact is made then after days I will need to call them back again. Meaning that I will get the same thing said back to me. Really BAD customer services. Do not buy from them at all.

Ordered a fridge freezer. Web site said it was in stock. Was given a delivery date 2 days in advance. Day before delivery got a call about insuring fridge. Declined insurance as usual. One hour later got a call. There will be a 2 week delay on delivery. Something about the manufacturer imposing tariffs. Cancelled order. Poor customer services. Ordered from John Lewis who said it was not in stock. CHEAPER. Delivered in 1 week less than sleazy outfit of appliances-direct said it would take.

This company does not deserve one star but it seems you have to give it a rating for the review to go through.

Appliances Direct do not comply with UK consumer law and are being investigated by Trading Standards. They will not refund a damaged oven they delivered to me. Please stay away from this criminal outfit.

Blunt and unhelpful. Refused to take my order because they couldn't find me on the voters roll (even though I am on the voters roll) but then took my payment anyway!! Why do I need to be on the voters roll to buy an oven anyway?! Much better companies out there.

Delivered a new TV to my disabled brother who paid extra for assembly on the stand because he can't do it and delivery men took packaging away. TV has a black line down the screen and Appliances Direct expect a disabled man to disassemble the Tv, pack it up in non- exist any packaging and then they might pick it up in the next fortnight. They are a disgrace .

If I could give them 0 I would. I paid extra to have my dishwasher fitted but they didn't seal it and it leaked onto my brand new kitchen cupboard. Appliance Direct didn't want to know. Not a good service.

After having to wait 3 weeks for delivery, only to be told that I would have to wait a further 3 weeks... and then... 1 day before said delivery date got told I'd have to wait a further 5 weeks!!!! That's a long time with no oven! On asking about a replacement and or good will gesture for the inconvenience, was told very abruptly NO. Very bad customer service. I'd recommend them to absolutely nobody.

I wrote a long feedback but somehow lost it when I was submitting it. I guess the details of my complaint aren't important so much as to the reasons why I'm giving them 1 star. I'd give them 0 for customer service and customer care if I could. I sought legal advice for the problem I'm having with them with regards to a damaged dishwasher, and they're simply ignoring the Consumer Act 2015. Basically, they're asking me to arrange a courier and pay for returning the item to them and only once they received it, they would refund me my money. Don't have anything to do with this so called company!!! Most disappointing customer service I've ever experienced!

Shocking experience. Dent in fridge freezer was discovered when it was unwrapped to be fitted (despite delivery driver claiming that it had already been unwrapped and checked). 5 day damage reporting policy was breached by 2 days so they have refused to take it back. Worst customer experience ever. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
