Brought a Dishwasher on line, when it arrived it had a fault, they refused to take this back without a manafactures fault number, which takes over a week to get and required a service engineer visit, when I talked to there Customer Service (i use the term lightly), they refused to help at all (despite the no quibble returns policy) . Go to AO.com there you get excellent service. I will never use Appliance Direct again.

Today I went into Huddersfied store to buy a larder fridge. I was approached and told the sales asst I knew what I was looking for and had dimensions just wanted to be left to look. Within seconds a man stood watching us for several minutes, then he came back and asked us what we were looking for. I told him the same, 30 seconds later a third man came over, and I told him I was fed up of being harrassed and left the store. We bought a £400 one from a competitor who allowed us to look on our own. I get it, they are on commission, however let the customer actually look at the products! I do not get followed around Boots when looking for gift ideas, or by sales assistants when looking for clothes, or when buying my weekly food bill. I had dimensions, I had a tape measure, I do not need anybody asking me what I am looking for - WHY?? I need to see it and imagine it in my kitchen (something a good sales assistant should learn early on) YOU only need to get involved if I ask you a question. Yes approach me initially but 4 times by three different people in three minutes?

If you have any sence Do Not Buy of This Sham & Uncaring Company I purchased a Microwave which was found to be Faulty I emailed the So Called Customer Service to arrange for it to be collected and sent back Only to be told they donot arrange a pick up service and I would have to Return it to a Click & Collect Shop. I explained that i had difficulty in Walking And unable to carry a Heavy Item as a Microwave. They did not even have The good manners to reply to my email. Thankfully a kind neighbour took The Item to the Click & Collect for me without his help i dont know what i Would have done. DO NOT BUY OF THIS HORRIBLE SO CALLED COMPANY.

I ordered a TV stand on July 20th and paid £30 for premium Saturday delivery. It was supposed to be delivered on June 25th Saturday. A few days later I contacted to company to inform that the intercom was broken so if it was possible to let the delivery guy call me when they arrive. They told me to contact the courier myself! I did contact the courier (Arrow XL, which is also a horrible company). They told me that my item wasn't going to be delivered on Saturday anyway! So I contacted AppliancesDirect again and agreed for delivery on the following Saturday which is August 1st. The next day I got a message from ArrowXL telling me that my item was going to be delivered on July 27th, Monday. I cancelled it and they confirmed the cancellation but on Monday afternoon the driver called me they were going to be at my flat in an hour! Since obviously they weren'y honoring their Saturday delivery promise even though I paid extra for it I decided to cancel my order. On August 4th I received an email that the receive the item back and would issue a refund in 48 hours. It's been 10 days and still no refund. Whenever I contact the customer service they always respond they "confirm they are looking into this". No real answers, just ambiguous words to stall. After 10 days I still couldn't get my money back. Terrible customer service, terrible website and terrible delivery. I'm definitely not shopping this dodgy company ever again.

This firm thinks it can ignore the Sale of Goods Act. They admitted the evaporative cooler didn't work as advertised but refused to take it back, even though I was willing to pay more for an air con unit. I had to take them to Court whereupon they refunded me in order to avoid arguing the case in Court. I will never buy from the again and would advise anyone to steer well clear of them.

Appalling service waiting a second day for delivery , they cancelled first delivery at end of time slot now sent another text out with new time on which they have missed , after much chasing they now say it will be all day delivery and they refuse to refud me delivery cost, terrible service will not order from them again !!

I ordered a tumble dryer online with this company. I promptly received an acknowledgement of the order quickly followed by confirmation of the delivery date I chose. I then received a phone call from the local store confirming the order and delivery date followed by him trying to sell me an extended warranty surprise surprise !! The delivery date came and I received a text to say delivery would be between 8 and 10 am and would receive a call 30 minutes before they arrived. I eventually received a call at 10.40 to say they would arrive within the next 2 hours. They eventually arrived at 2.30. As the dryer was being unpacked I noticed a very large dent in the left hand side of the cabinet. I was told I would receive a phone call to arrange delivery of the replacement dryer. I decided to call customer services myself and explain how unhappy I was with the service so far. The person I spoke to didn't even apologise for the problems I had experienced. I was so cross at the blasé attitude I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. This is the first and last time I will order from this company.

A very small operation seems legit due toautomated system. After no delivery they refunded taking .100pounds. A very abusive team that robbed us. Please stay away . We are taking legal action and have written to which and other media please join us and put an end to this awful people. They caused our young family a grea dealing of upset and pain. Theives

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, customer service is appalling, say they will ring back but never do, never delivered the item when suppose to and then had the nerve to charge us for something we have not got. STAY WELL CLEAR!!! should not be trading!!!!

Steer well clear - purchased a washer online, paid an additional £25 for nominated Saturday received an order acknowledgement etc. Checked the order tracking on Saturday and the order hadn't been despatched. Rang them, they didn't know why and said they would need to 'investigate', said they would refund part of the delivery charge and deliver next Saturday. No thanks! Dire customer service and obviously not reliable at all! Basically pants

No customer service to help after your purchase. Easy to buy, impossible to refund or exchange. We bought a gas hob and an oven but because of gas hob pipe (belling) we could not fit the oven below. I had to buy another one. I would have bought it from appliances direct had they been helpful but they were rubbish, basically telling me, sorry you're stuffed. I amvery disappointed.

I ordered a washer dryer, paid by bank transfer to the account information sent to me. 2 days before delivery I received emails that payment hadn't been made, although I had made the payment 3 weeks earlier. I called 4 times and was told different things by every person. I finally got through to accounts, was told there was no record of me calling (he told me I had never called and he had no idea what I was talking about). He said if I couldn't remember the name of who I spoke with I clearly had never called, and that I needed more information. I called back with more information, spoke with someone else who told me they have multiple accounts and they simply aren't sure which one my money went to so they need to look it up. She said the investigation had already been started, however the person I called not 20 minutes before who started the investigation told me nothing like this and said there was nothing he could do. I then asked when I would hear back from them and was never given a confirmed answer, so I am having to call back multiple times a day to try and get some resolution. Very frustrated. The only reasonable person I spoke with was a sales associate who seemed to be able to find a lot more information on my payment than the accounts team.

Ordered an appliance same day, as I needed it urgently. They "conveniently" delivered a cheaper alternative unit in error. After 30mins on a call they accepted their mistake but the only way they could correct it was I buy the unit again. They insisted on only picking up the "unit delivered in error" in normal working hours despite delivering it at 9pm originally, meaning I had to arrange time off work. all whilst they also have taken the money from my account. Now they have picked up and refunded my money, minus the delivery charge. So I paid for the luxury of them delivering the wrong unit, that they accept was their error. But I'm still waiting for the delivery to be refunded, i'm not hopeful so whilst rare I ever post feedback this is one company I needed to vent about. Try dealing with them to resolve is so painful, I think they see they are irritating you and just try harder to irritate you more in the hope you walk away and they keep your money. Will never ever deal with them again.

Faulty item - no sign of customer service I ordered an Air conditioner from Appliances Direct, paid extra for next day delivery too. I got an email that morning to say it was not coming. When it did arrive 4 days late it was faulty - the top flap does not open to allow air out of the unit. I called their customer services (an 0871 that you have to pay at least 14p a minute to call) waited on hold for around 15 minutes only to be told their air conditioning customer services was a different telephone number. So I called the other number I was given, and told them about the problem. They said that a return would be arranged and someone would call me straight back to make the arrangements. Two days later, I'm still waiting for this phone call. Originally I would have settled for a replacement, now I want a refund and nothing more to do with this company! Update - I finally got a phone call after sending my details to the agent that replied to my review. And a return was arranged. Then after the call, whilst I was packaging the unit up for return I received a voicemail from Appliances Direct. Stating that the faulty part is not really needed on a portable air conditioner, so they want to know if I will keep it and if I will give them a call back on their 14p per minute 0871 number, to confirm that I will keep it. NO I WILL NOT KEEP A FAULTY ITEM THAT I PAID FULL PRICE FOR! And surprise, surprise, when it actually came to the day of collection, the courier refused to take the air conditioner because it weighed over 30Kg and was booked in by Appliances Direct as only weighing 1Kg. It took over 40 minutes on the phone only to be told they will attempt to collect again on Monday. So now I will have been waiting in for collection for three days! YOU REALLY ARE A JOKE OF A COMPANY! Update #2 It got to lunch time on Monday and I contacted appliancesdirect again (on their 0871 number) and was left on hold for around another 20 minutes before I could speak to anyone. I enquired about the timeslot for collection today, only to be told they do not offer those and in fact my collection had not been booked at all. I was not allowed to speak to the returns department as "Everyone from the returns department is in a meeting - including their managers" and someone would be in touch within the next 3 days. No offer was made of collection again. I immediately contacted Trading Standards, who informed me they have a history of this company and my best course of action was to initiate a charge-back with my bank to reclaim the money I paid. Normally they would advise to write a letter, but these don't work with appliances direct. I have now initiated this charge-back and if appliancesdirect do not collect my air conditioner, I will be returning it using the UPS and billing to the receiver.

Totally Useless, paid extra for a Saturday delivery, chased in the afternoon only to be told the item was found to be damaged and they could not deliver......another wasted day, will never use again.....complete opposite to AO.com who have never yet failed me !!

SHOCKING COMPANY!!!! FAULTY COOLING UNIT - WONT SWITCH ON AND YOU SAY YOU NEED TO SEND IT TO HUDDERSFIELD TO TEST IT TO CONFIRM IT DOESN'T WORK BEFORE YOU WILL SEND A REPLACEMENT! I'VE OFFERED TO DRIVE TO DERBY TO GET A REPLACEMENT AS I NEED THIS UNIT TODAY!!! BUT NO!!! I WILL NEVER EVER USE YOU AGAIN AND WILL SPREAD THIS MESSAGE AS FAR AS POSSIBLE!!!

STAY AWAY!!!!! I purchased a Dyson fan today instore but I was told instore and via phonecall that the price increased by £10 and then further £20-30, just because of the weather , despite it being advertised on there web page as a cheaper price, when I quizzed the sales person instore Lee Shannon who quoted 'if the price is for example £300 at time of purchase online and I purchase but should the price increase by £50 at time of despatch meaning AD would take payment for £350 and not what I've contractually paid as per original price!!!! WHAT A CROCH OF BULL!!! I made it clear to the sales rep that this action is deceiving and a con, to this he replied 'all the online companies do it, it's in the terms and conditions small print'. Anyway I purchased the item with my credit card to which they charge a 5% surcharge . Anyway when I got home to register the product with Dyson via the product serial number which is non existent . I phone DYSON who inform me the product is not even UK based, therefore no warranty and is basically an EU item meaning different specs!!! APPLIANCES DIRECT/laptops DIRECT/TVs DIRECT STAY AWAY LIKE THE PLAGUE .. The business is a con!!! MY FINDINGS WILL ALSO BE DISCLOSED TO THE APPROPRIATE CONSUMER GROUPS. Appalling !!!

Appliance description was not specific enough. Once i received my order I needed to return it. I URGENTLY needed a fridge. No one would respond to my emails (which i was instructed to do when called) and after being on hold for 10 minutes several times the phone would just cut out and i could not get through to any one. NEVER ordering through them again as their customer service is absolute rubbish and is now making me look bad at my job.

I paid premium for a Saturday delivery. Got an email stating 'Your estimated delivery time frame is between 06:35-08:35... You will be called approximately 30 minutes prior to delivery and we will aim to keep you updated, if for some reason, the delivery team are running late. 20.00. No goods delivered. No phone call. no email update. Earlier in the day I had phoned their office. A recorded message stated that if orders were late their office computer systems would not show where they were during the day, and gave the instruction to call to report a late delivery only after 20.00pm. So 20.02 I called, and got the recorded message 'our office is now closed.' How convenient!
